The conclusion on the whole story.
As 1914 no region is a feeding Nigeria,
1. The British where exploring and exporting everything valuable resources they find in Nigeria.
2. The British where not exporting all their items through lagos seaport. Beacuse there were other seaports along the coast from Calaba to Lagos. |

FaroukM: Wow...that is amazing....but your leaders in the SS bleeped up not using the revenue shared to develop SS.rather they develop their bank accounts..whereas the leaders in the SW were smart enough to develop their SW for future...SS people don't have one voice that is where the problem lies.look at th NDA dialogue issue with FGN..they are coming up with different people to dialogue.. That is not possible. Every proceed from the colonist goes to England. I am surprised that you people don't know the difference between the Exploration during Colonial periods and and Exploration after independence. |

timeman: If only you had patience, maybe knowledge would have smiled at you, unfortunately, you were way ahead of yourself. if you had read with keen insights you would've realised that you gloated on mere trivial. Ask yourself why the market for palm oil declined from early 40s. Kiss the truth! Am just laughing, at the comments of those guys here. They probably didn't know that Crude oil discovery was the beginning of Palm decline. As the time SW was making Palm oil production has declined. |

Sealeddeal: Sure they didn't but they used some to build Seaports and Railways. Seaports are built on the coastal areas from Calabar to Lagos. Railways were regional. They are just transportation means . |
Politics › Re: Annual Report Of 1914: Palm Oil Highest Revenue Earner by OBAGADAFFI: 5:26am On Sep 10, 2016 |
Adminisher: Actually no Nigerian money initially went to develop the oil industry. It was after some mega-sized discoveries that the Joint Ventures started and Nigeria started contributing.
As for someone saying palm oil was feeding Nigeria in 1914. That is wrong please. You were feeding the UK and Royal Niger Company then after which then you started feedng yourselves in the Eastern/ Western region depending on what side of the Niger you were. Mid West palm oil and rubber money was Western Region money. Rivers and Calabar was Eastern region. Please stop all the rubbish about Niger Delta feeding anybody. There was very little crash crop cultivation in the real swamps of Niger Delta anyway. They were only logistics providers for large boats and canoeS to transport produce to Brass, Opobo and maybe Bonny Best comment so far. At no time did the Colonialist use raw materials to feed their host. |

PassingShot: Anyone who has a decent understanding of how economies work would know the principle of cause and effect. He will also know that an economy destroyed for sixteen years cannot be rebuilt in a year or even two without going through tough times. Change is not same as miracle!
If Bruce didn't talk about this nonsense, when last did the govt play the blame game? But if any of PDP sympathizers bring this issue up, we have tge right to remind Nigerians how we got here. What economy do we have before 16 years of PDP?What what is our foreign debt before OBJ(PDP) came into power. What is our foreign reserves before OBJ(PDP) came into power. What is our banking capitalisation before OBJ(PDP) came into power. Do you even know that the looted funds by the military before 1999 is still being recovered till date. Stop saying what you don't know. |
