This is different as the employees are not paying for it.I believe is a proxy way of un approved share buy back aimed at reducing dividend pay out tactically.
So instead of compensating their staff with money they are giving them shares. undecided
Why not give them the option to choose between shares and real money. grin

These are well known games played over and over again.
You can't get anything free from any Nigerian Bank.

That's not dilution but more like share buy back.Read the article well but the main deal behind purchase of the shares might be for Access to corner most of the dividends. grin
I remember how Oceanic and Intercontinental bank were forcing their staff to buy their shares.

I don't trust Access with these scheme.

The banks, Thisday exclusively gathered this afternoon, were barred for concealing and failing to remit the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) dollar funds to the federal government’s Treasury Single Account domiciled in the CBN as directed by the Presidency last year.

The banks, whose suspension would remain in force until they remit all the funds to the TSA are United Bank for Africa (UBA) $530m; First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) $469m; Diamond Bank Plc ($287m); Sterling Bank Plc ($269m); Sky Bank Plc ($221m) Keystone Bank ($139); First City Monument Bank (FCMB) $125m; and Heritage Bank ($85m).
My major interest in this news is First bank and UBA.

This two banks have been featuring in every bad news coming from the banking sector.

I am having a feel this two banks will be fantastically cheap in the future.

The Doller value of the dividend makes it difficult to claim in other Banks.

Only specific Ecobank branches can pay the dividend.

All this your cheering of Access, nobody can tell me you're not comfortably smiling in the bus. grin
(to avoid calling it by that other name, the mh name, you understand grin).
Which is not disagreeing that Access, like many others, is seriously undervalued.
But regarding all the bolded, there is another extra thing called prestige.
Prestige, or whatever other name you want to call it, makes some stocks
sell at premium to their valuations, and to their peers.
The same GTB premium undecided stock were buying below 18N before May. So if Zenith finally goes above 20N were will upgrade them to premium stock even when their EPS is lower than accessbank.

I have always underrated Access bank, until the new result. I remember when were begging the Elephant to allow Access go above 3N. Today the Access is running faster then the Elephant.
Thank God I didn't do Much JIJO with Access when it was below 3N.

SUNNYsparkle:
Its s lie.. An Oba naming his son Eweka is a lie. From archeological findings, Benin is older than ife. Benin as a kingdom was bigger that ife . Eweka is the same as iweka in Onitsha Igbo. So how and why was language of Benin not altered? Benin became an empire and expanded East, West and North, while ife remained static.
I am not sure you're from Benin.
Because most Benin people knows that the "OBA" title was foreign the Benin.

Ogiso is the original title for Benin rulers, the 'OBA title came from Ile-ife.

Thank you Obagadaffi.
Why then do some stocks hit the maximum 10% gain/loss why others don't?
The gain or loss is dependant on the sentiment and performance of the stock based on available information.

For a stock to hit 10% loss means its on full offer(massive selling), while 10% gain is full bid(massive buying)

Dear All,

Thank you for the great work of sharing profitable information on this forum. Please I need answers to the following in simple terms;

1. How exactly are share prices determined on the floor of the exchanged; opening prices and closing prices?

2. Is it an automated process?

3. What is the relevance of No of bids, quantity of bids, No of offers and quantity of offers?

Thank you.
My little contribution

NSE system is fully automated and every trade can be monitored online.

Average price determine the price on the floor during trading.

Bid = buyers
Offer = Sellers

The increase in the number of bids of a stock, will bring price appreciation to that stock, while increase in the number of offers, will bring the price down.
