Let's correct one notion here: Hope you know illiquidity is not peculiar to penny stocks alone!

Could remember being somehow trapped in MRS at N12 with my tashere units and had to sell it off @13 or so due to illiquidity but today, that same MRS is trading at circa 100!

While you're very correct about illiquid stocks trapping, we should at the same time always have reasons for buying it.

What's the news surrounding it? What is FA saying? How does TA view it? Are you for short, medium or long term? Is result approaching and there's expectations of dividend payment, which will in turn increase activities in the stock, whereby you can exit conveniently? Is there any buyout/MTO/Merger news yet to be made public? Is there any special positive things driving it? Etc.

Now even if you buy it, what's your Plan B?
For instance, people were holding on to Sugar and Salt, not because of the financials but because of the Merger news in view.

If you notice that I didn't even mention JULI all thru.....it was because we don't know what's driving the share price.... someone somewhere was just using less than 200k daily to manipulate the share price.

So, you see, it's not enough to follow herds mentality but also do your DD if you know how to do it and don't be greedy with it.

PZ rose up to 40 and I'm sure some people would still be holding unto it, believing it will touch 100, later they may come to complain about being trapped as well.

When stocks are on full bid or full offer, it is advisable you exercise caution.............Someone here once asked: How it is possible for a stock to go from FULL OFFER to FULL BID in a twinkle of an eye. Well, i did a little experiment on a stock just now and some people rushed in.........What did i do?

I launched up about 30 different Bids on a stock at various quantities ranging from 250,000 to 500,000 units on a stock that have been promoted here. This made the BID QUANTITY to be more than 15 times the OFFER QUANTITY with a price range just a bit below the best offer price.

Guess what happened: People started fighting to outbid me ,; while i was strategically outbidding them in bits without actually buying anything. In the frenzy, they ended up grabbing the nearest offer prices and pushing the price way above the opening price of today.

I then proceeded to cancel all my bids and the BID Quantity to OFFER Quantity ratio went from 15:1 in split seconds to 2:1.

I believe this is how the big dogs create artificial demand and supply for fools to either rush in or jump out. So please, trade with caution, buy with reason and do your own due diligence..... A word is enough for the wise.

Update on GSK;

Apparently, there'll be no immediate top-up on the initially proposed cash distribution of N17.42. (shareholders could not hold their ground on this one)

However, the BoDs will approve a final payment from asset sale, projected to be in the region of N4 Billion (>/= N4B)
My estimate on this is a Naira equivalent of btw N4.6--6.20 per share distribution to shareholders.

There's also the not-so-clear part about some form of allotment to shareholders in proportion to one's equity holding as derived from the creation of the equivalent of the company's distribution reserve through a share reorganization exercise amounting to N2,000,000,000 in FV. (200,000 units of 50k each @ N100,000 p/s. (one needs to get the document that further expanciates on this part)
Sharing to shareholder's will be executed by it's trustee, FBNQuest.

The 1st cash distribution of N17.42 is expected to be paid no later than Dec 28, 2023.

Yes I know and other companies not into flour.At a time I was hoping to sell my nnfm at #18 .Then someone here projected it to reach #40.I said it won't happen when the giant has been dancing within 30/32.Then I checked results and flour had alot loss from dollar revaluation. Then NNFM hit 20 then 30.I use to get emotional attached with giants in an industry but I am really reviewing that habit Hence I will be rebalancing my portfolio once in a while with no emotions, lol.My new targets next year no matter the stocks in my portfolio. That Flour Mills pays more dividend than NNFM, FMN is more profitables.
