The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has disclosed that MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has till Friday, May 31, 2019, to pay the last tranche of it N330 billion sim registration fine. The remaining balance is N55 billion.

According to a statement made available to newsmen, yesterday, the regulator disclosed that MTN has so far paid a total of N275 billion, thereby leaving a balance of N55 billion which must be paid by the end of May.

Meanwhile, MTN had been paying the fine in tranches. The telco began the payment structure with N30 billion paid to the Nigerian Communications Commission via the Treasury Single Account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in late 2016.

On March 31, 2017, MTN paid another N30 billion into the Treasury Single Account. The company then paid N55 billion into the TSA on March 31st, 2018. It also paid N55 billion on March 31st, 2019.

I bet you know more than American military experts, maybe you a are confusing Hezbollah with Hamas. In the 2006 battle Hezbollah fought IDF ground troops, how can they use civilian shield when IDF was unable to penetrate Hezbollah defense formation?, most battles happened in villageS with few people and empty fields. The only thing Hezbollah was accused of was stockpiling weapons in some homes, but they NEVER use civilian as shield in the 2006 war.

After the 2006 war, Hezbollah haven't clashed with IDF, and the few times rocket was fired into Isreal, Hezbollah denied being responsible. So far IDF has learnt their lessons and Hezbollah won't provoke any crisis. But HEZBOLLAH WON that war.

Hezbollah wasn't a state within a state, it was/is a resistant movement, they are part of the Lebanese government, control 1/3 of the Senate seat I guess.

When Hezbollah kidnapped some Israeli soldiers, Israel became angry and vowed to crush Hezbollah within a month, so they carried out airstrikes in southern Lebanon, hoping that will force the Lebanese government to surrender Hezbollah to them, unknown to IDF, Hezbollah has dug a lot of deep tunnels and bunker where they kept most of their rockets and weapons.

After series of bombing, Hezbollah never stopped firing rockets into Isreal territory, meaning the airstrikes weren't effective, so Isreal Prime Minister approved a ground invasion to finally crush Hezbollah, they so underrated Hezbollah and thought Hezbollah were some kind of untrained Arab men with riffle. When they got to Lebanon Hezbollah smashed most of their trucks/tanks, they couldn't believe their eyes, on one occasion an infantry refused advancing forward because they fear Hezbollah will crush them (They were later detained).

In the battle of Bint Jbeil, Hezbollah surprised IDF with their doggedness, a few men guided the entire village. Till the war ended, Hezbollah never stopped fighting, and showed no signs of giving up, even Israeli medias were disappointed.



Hezbollah used Guerilla warfare during their first battle with Isreal, but quickly embraced a new doctrine, transforming itself from a predominantly guerrilla force into a formidable quasi-conventional fighting force.

They have specific territories, in fact IDF ground troops refused advancing towards Hezbollah controlled area. Israel lost most of her conventional war skills fighting unarmed women and kids in Palestine, that when they met a real force they couldn't deliver. While both parties claim victory, this will be the first time Isreal leaves a battle without achieving her aims or getting Hezbollah to do things according to their terms. Hezbollah destroyed the myth that they were undefeated.

Hezbollah is a resistant movement, secondly they didn't hide behind women and children during the 2006 war with Isreal, they fought face to face. I think you are confusing Hezbollah with Hamas or Isis.

Hezbollah had locations, they fought from a well known but fortified positions, they guided each Lebanese village bordering Isreal, while evacuating women and children to safer positions. Even before shooting rockets at Isreal they sent text to Israelis telling them to live their homes.

You just have to respect those guys, they were fearless, you can read more about them, even Isreali soldiers were marvelled at how those guys fought. 100 Hezbollah members might guide a village, you invading will think they are up to 1000 because of how well positioned they are.

Hezbollah were brave, even in current war in Syria, they are performing wonders, they single handedly defeated some rebels in 2017 or so.

The aim here should not be about who is stronger. Definitely, we know the answer. However, Iran possesses nuclear weapon and a good army. Also, what is the objective of the war and what will it achieve? Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan have not experienced any peace since the invasion. A war with Iran will only cause more chaos in the Middle East and I fear this war with Iran maybe quite different.

NATO forces may not support the war. Russia and China maybe incline to sell arms to Iran. The bloodbath maybe catastrophic and there maybe no winners rather than innocent lives being lost and increasing refugee tensions in Europe.

@ Rebekah, it's the ASSET management not the PENSION management o. So no effect on pension.

@OBAGADAFFI, Equity fund, Guaranteed investment fund, ethical fund, aggressive fund, and maybe bond fund. Those are their funds that have equity exposure. Zero effect on MMF.


However, one easy way to profit from this MTN rally would be to buy their equity fund. Only issue is you won't be able to cash out before 90 days, erstwhile you forgo 2% of your capital.

Which is very bad idea, the SEC should have gotten them issue additional share, with low price, and compensate the existing shareholders by allocating bonus share to them.

Who on this platform has gotten even 1 unit of mtn share?. If no one has gotten, that means some serious illegality is going on, and both mtn , NSE, and SEC need to be sue to court. How can a stock be listed on the flour of NSE @#90, and for two consecutive trading section none of the ordinary shareholder participants has gotten one unit, and stock keep on closing on 10% on daily basis.

They should have giving them modality to make the share available for the first time at least 3 trading days, even if it mean creating additional share to accommodate new investors. Or get them going first through IPO, which will last for a week or two. This act of listing by introduction is purely scam.

Manipulation is seriously going on, from today market experience shows that various companies CEOs are grabbing their units through back door, massive sale off was witness in Nestle, GTB, Zenith etc, even in the FCMB that has CSL stockbroker as their subsidiary, offloaded heavily at #1.55 the last minutes of today trading, I believed that this has connection with getting money ready for Monday trading, I think since they are big stockbroking company they can easily get mtn stock on cross deal.

I place my buying order at about 9.40, and the order went through, but it didn't show in the bid line up, I placed another one and it didn't show also. When I refresh the bid box many times, I found out that nothing was added or removed, it appeared with the same figure from beginning to end of trading section, and my bid expired.

After they might have done pumping the price to their desired junction, they will look for whom to dump on. Anyway it's better we leave them, after they finish pumping the stock, they should also dump it on themselves.
