CelebritiesRe: Chidi Mokeme Vs Pat Attah: Who Is More Handsome? by Obelomo: 3:35pm On Mar 18, 2010
I agree with you hannadar1! In old movies I never had a crush on Chidi Mokeme, but now I got it for too much. Only one person really reviewed Hopeless tommorow and said it was good, so I risked this movie for Chidi and so far it's annoying!

FamilyRe: Life At 30 When You're Not Married by Obelomo: 4:26pm On Mar 11, 2010
My mother had me late, so I am 23+now, and she is kind of pressuring me to get married, well actually have kids soon. I think 24 or 25 is the right age, well acutally before 30 is the right age to get married.
FamilyRe: Foriegn Or Nigerian Names For Your Baby by Obelomo: 4:20pm On Mar 11, 2010
Like Jumie said the meaning is what is important, also to me the pronunciation and how the name sounds. Personally, I would give my children both, although I have not decided which would their main and first names.
FamilyRe: Which Is Better An English Name Or Your Native Name Or Even A Christian Name by Obelomo: 4:04pm On Mar 11, 2010
Well like me I have both, actually many names well mostly three names that many people know me by.  Although my naija name is common, but now I just want to be mainly known by my yoruba name, because my English name is too- old fashioned for me.  Plus nowdadays non-naija people are given their children real african names, especillay I know a lot of girls who are named Shade and non of their parents are Nigerian!  Personally, I think it is good to give both that way when the child is grown they may want an English, Christian or Naija name.

Music/RadioRe: Why Are Nigerian Musicians Forever Copying African American/jamaican Artistes? by Obelomo: 7:08pm On Mar 09, 2010
Well, because many young naija people prefer "foreign", Westernized or Jamonized music, style, etc. One time we did a nigerian thing in school and they played Paul Play Ik Dairo, my teacher who is AA said," he wanted something that sounds more african." I was shocked that he knew the difference since the song is completely in Yourba.
TV/MoviesRe: "Oun Oko So Mi Da" By Shola Shobowale by Obelomo: 4:37pm On Mar 09, 2010
This movie was nice, although part two could have been better in my opinion! Shola Sobowale is a damn good actress, she was the best character in this film. Also, I was pissed off at the kids, especially the older one Wande for not taking her mother's side.
CelebritiesRe: Mercy Johnson A Yoruba Actress by Obelomo: 4:28pm On Mar 09, 2010
Yeah a lot of tribes in Nigeria, hell even some Ghanaians I know can Yoruba fluently. In fact, I know some people who speak Yoruba more than their own language.

FamilyRe: Yorubas And The 'Left-Hand' Issue by Obelomo: 10:25pm On Mar 02, 2010
It's not only a Yoruba issue with the aspect of handling things to elders with left hand. I was in a Ghanaian store and the little boy hand over something w/ his left hand and the cashier told him "We don't hand things w/ our left hand in Africa it's rude." I was born here, so sometimes I forget, so it is very annoying to me.

TV/MoviesRe: Are These Yoruba Movies Produced For Illiterates? by Obelomo: 8:05pm On Feb 19, 2010
Yoruba movies are getting better in dressing, quality, and production than the 90s. The only thing is they need to reduce the juju, obanje, and other fetish storylines.

CelebritiesRe: Mama G Vs Liz Benson by Obelomo: 6:45pm On Feb 12, 2010
You can't compare them in my opinion. Mama G plays more crazy, funny motherly roles, and Liz Benson is more tough, evil mother roles. Plus, Liz has not acted for a long time.

RomanceRe: Is House Of God The Best Place To Find Wife/husband. by Obelomo: 6:49pm On Feb 10, 2010
In my opinion, there is no best place find your husband or wife. There many people hypocrites in church, some are even worse than those who don't go to church at all. Also, I belive that church is place to just focus on God, but there is noting wrong in marrying someone in church. Pray to find a God -fearing Christian, even some pastors are bad.
