A thief can never mean well. A thief remains a thirmef until he returns what he stole, whether by force or by coercion.

The CBN never tried this in 2016 as the Naira stayed at around 1999 from June 2015 to around 2017. If it was devalued, it would have reflected

The floating this time saw the Naira depreciate from 474 to 664. It's clear there's a depreciation now.

Selling fx to BDC will slash the huge difference between the official rate and parallel market rates as forex will flood the black market.

That was why Soludo introduced it back then. Prior to that, the official rate was 120 while the black market was 150. Once he began to sell to the BDC, it collapsed to around 122 at the black market.
Oga go and read this then we can talk more.

It is exactly what the country needs.

If demand for dollar is greater than supply, the currency would depreciate, making imports costlier and less affordable while locally made products become cheaper and it's exports more competitive.

And if supply inflow is greater than demand, the currency would appreciate, making imports cheaper.
What is the government's policy on imports and exports?
What has the government done to curb the inherent corruption trailing the parallel rates?
Nigerian economics doesn't follow the principles of economics because of the inherent corruption. They tried this in 2016 but it never worked. Instead the naira depreciated by 40%. The rest is history.

I just dey laugh. People that know nothing about economics are celebrating. Nigeria is heavily dependent on imports. Naira will still fall freely. This policy is just to aid crude oil importers like Dangote. They don't care about the ordinary Nigerian. A reasonable government should have dealt with the issue of supporting industries to begin export on a large scale after reducing the dependency on imports.

This policy is useless as Nigeria is heavily dependent on import.

Naira will still fall freely.

Oga tell me how it will work when the government is corrupt, your principal is overcurrupt?

Besides, how would the students repay the loans if they're unemployed?

See ehn, your drug baron's government is bound to fail. A thief is a failure and that's what your principal is.

This thing will not work. Tinubu and his fellow criminals will embezzle the money as usual.

This is more like praising a thief who stole your expensive car and has changed the tires and filled the fuel tank.

Thieves and deceivers have no good intention. A leopard can never change its spots.

I can never accept a thief and drug baron as my President. Even whenever I visit Nigeria.

Tinubu's renewed hopelessness on you guys just started. Una go see shege for this government. But this government won't last. Una go see...

Oga the success of a policy is in how it is implemented. The drug baron President implemented it in his own wicked way. I just hope his boys on Nairaland buy fuel for 100 naira sha and have enough palliative to ameliorate their suffering.

As in ehn...

I just tire. Fuel subsidy must go but the question should be 'how?' President of thieves and drug barons just woke and said 'subsidy is gone'. Is that how they remove subsidy.

Hope agbado guys are buying fuel for 100 naira sha? Because it won't be fair if they don't buy it for at least 100 naira. 200 naira is too much sef.

Dem never see anything yet. Make dem enjoy the person that they voted. Shebi they love their chains. Let them enjoy it.
