Just asking if you use all these dumb inverters without editable settings and you don’t have solar what’s the best way to charge your lithium battery.
Would really appreciate y’all input it’s been giving me issues lately
You can use the dumb Inverterundecided or get an external charger

Thats going sub-kernel. I also gave example of 200A that doesn't do sh!t when touched. So i know what you mean.
Amps, voltage, resistance etc all play a part. But for now let's leave it at amps.
That's why we would majorly watch out for amps and rarely internal resistance of the wire or the body itself coming in contact, etc; at least for non-industrial installs
Drops mic!

To further add to your point
For humans death occurs due to blood coagulation ( electrolysis) in case of DC. Where as in case of AC,Pulse rate changes when Heart tries to pump with the frequency of AC and causes heart failure.

Both cases will lead to dehydration followed by burning....

We started doing the internals after we completed it, we supplied grid to see if the inverter will charge, inverter couldn't charge 🥲🥲.

We checked and disconnected the current limiter nothing changed.
We browse through the settings and nothing.

we were frustrated (this was happening around to 10 pm) and we were trying to head back to our destination.

Guess what, just long holding the ESC button was what had kept us on site for over 1hr+.

Damn it was our first time working with this inverter so we needed to get acquainted with the interface and set up.

In summary, we slept over and left the site on Sunday 8 am.
With the contractor heading back to warri while I stayed behind.

After sitting at home yawning and planning my trip to warri, I got a call from my contractor that he was going to visit Lagos and we needed to execute a project .

We took off Saturday 6th April at 10:00am.

He had procured the solar 1800wp(300*6) panels, batteries (2 tubular), 3kw must hybrid inverter and every item we needed for the project.

We got to site and started the installation. Roof was asbestos and the structure position was not very well strategic so we did a lot of + and -.

Finally we started the job, I entered the roof and was very sceptical about the rigidity.
I was finding it difficult to nail self( I needed a 6" nail where I wan see am for Idowu egba😩)

We changed the pattern of installation and laid it flat on the roof while using copper wire to secure them.

It was in this process local man almost fell🙂. You know that proverbs that says them no dey use 2 legs test if water deep.
Na this roof them dey talk about.

I took a testing step and broke the roof.we discovered later that the wood there has decayed.

Now if you are an installer,I will advise you to inspect the roofing before you work on it.

I conquered the installation with no injury even after the accident.

Please I have a quick question and I'm trying to make plans for it in the future.

what capacity and solar system will be suitable for the following appliances to run 24/7 ?

Charging of phones (4) = 60w
1 laptops = 45w
5 boobs = 39w
42 inches TV = 65w
2 standing fans = 20w

Everything= 229w approximately 250w

1kwp of solar
200ah battery lead battery or 100ah lithium battery
1kva inverter

Modification

I just saw you said 24hrs.
24v is Better @okusbaba quote is valid.

You will need 6pcs of solar panels.
The quotation will give you back up time of 13hrs

Pls share ur reasons and experiences, i dey plan to get 4units for my customers.

Abeg enlighten me more on the Inverter

There is this gennex inverter that I worked on that couldn't supply output until you supply input and turn it off before it supplies output.

Mind you if you put on PV it will be own but no output, put off the PV input and on the inverter while connected to battery, it will come on and go off after some time....

The wahala is too much....
The saving grace is most of the inverters where bought by the client so I just seat down and look dey laff grin grin grin....

Thanks

He actually started it will lead acid battery? I was trying to imagine the space occupied. I admire his zeal.
To recoup his capital on the investment with time will depend on the type of products/accessories he used for the installation.
People that used Deye/Victron inverter with Deye lithium battery and Jinko/Canadian/Longi pv and other expensive accessories would have more time to wait while people that go for an average cost installation will recoup the capital early.

It's on this thread deye and big names are been mentioned. Yes you will recoup investment faster if you go cheap

Man just needs a simple inverter that can be fixed easily and fast.
He has about 3 inverters 10 and 5kva. Then a 12kva redundant inverter. All linked together in case the the 2 active inverters has issues the redundant system picks the load.

He designed the system from scratch from the Meters to Inverter that's just what I love about the whole system

Imagine owning like 6 blocks of 3 bedroom and powering it up with MW of PV, that's good money to be made but pocket go shake small.

Yeah.
He initially started it small and scaled it up with loan which has all been paid back.
Business has been running for 4yrs now.....

He has scrapped of the lead batteries and adopted lithium....
The investment is worth every dime

you saw the article on nairaland by ugodre of nairametrics where he said they are currently paying over 400 naira per unit for electricity in his estate in ikate and i think they are less than 20 tenants in that estate, and the company offering the power as a service is even using diesel gen to supplement power when the grid is not supplying.....with massive solar as a landlord every afternoon you go just de smile to the bank,...and according to him part of the agreement was that price of electricity can be adjusted in months time ..if the price of diesel kept going up by now electricity for that estate go don reach 500 naira per unit....Jabi lake mall in abuja has 600KW of solar panels sitting on top of its roof... You can imagine the energy savings all these years... Ado bayero mall in kano state has 1MW of solar panels on its roof.. That one they used Schneider electric inverters. Enormous daytime energy savings...money de dis thing. I don see am finish.

I know some one that sell electricity in his plaza and few house hold close by, this guy dey cash out.
He said if his client decide to be conservative, his sure he will always earn 50k-70k...

Depends on the brand. Considering energy tests done here, LG's Dual Inverter should be fine as long as the inverter isn't already loaded.

As for Hisense and the other Chinese brands, tread with caution, I'd say.

Also, all inverters aren't built equally from what I've heard.
Thank you for your input

Can a 1.5hp AC (inverter AC) run on a 2.5kva inverter.

Would the inverter be able to even start concerning the surge

Penuelseun:
the controller I posted up there has both 3s and 4s lithium profile, 4s configuration is not good for most 12v inverters in the market as the maximum voltage they can work with is 15.5v, 3s will also limit you to around 50% of your battery capacity as most inverters shut down around 10.5v. 7s and 14s is the best configuration for li-ion cells

I get your point very well.
How ever, on 4s low battery cut out is going to be around 12v.....,
Which is too early. Kia.

Make I see the one I go do first
Technology Market / Re: Diy Lithium Ion Like-minds by Obnoxious2001(m): 12:12pm On Apr 16
So recently I have been thinking, how do you charge your 3s battery with solar controller?

Due to the fact that most pwm controller has max bulk charge at 14.4v.

Don't you think running 4s is a more better option sad

Is there any ceiling fan that consumes very low power? Like 10 to 20w?

Same thing. It makes a click sound every few minutes, the fridge light is on but the things in the fridge and freezer are not getting cold

Also, whenever it makes the click sound, the inverter fans start working and the inverter becomes noisy, and the load shows almost 800w before dropping but when before using the digital timer, the fridge never takes the inverter load beyond 300w at any point in time

I think your fridge has the problem.

Good evening all. I bought a digital timer to use with my fridge for my inverter. I used it for the first time on Friday and set it to turn on my fridge by 8.30am and turn it off by 3.30pm.

The problem now is that when I got home around 7pm, the fridge was off, since there was light at that time, I turned on the fridge but the fridge is no longer working. It makes a click sound every few minutes, the fridge light is on but the things in the fridge and freezer are not getting cold.

Also, now, when the fridge makes the click sound, the load on the inverter rises to about 800w for a few seconds before dropping down to normal which did not happen before.

What could be the problem?

When Plug the fridge directly what is the response?

I called it cap, someone correctly identified it as battery terminal. Yes, my understanding is that it is broken. Because it is crusting around the edges and I attached a picture to the original post.

Someone suggested molding a new terminal. I am concerned that the problem could even affect the whole set up if I don’t fix it.

This contractor is missing out on a second project I need to complete for 4.5kVa and people will say their village people are after them.
If it has not been fixed, you can drill a hole in the base of the battery terminal and tap it.

Welcome to April.
2nd April 2024
190w solar panels x 2 installed on a 2 storey building, although the client claimed it was 300w (that's not my business anyway)

I didn't bother to take a picture at all. The height no be my mate😢😢.

I was just fixated on installing the solar panels and coming down.

My method of entrance was with ladder 🪜 I got help from (zino) a guy around the vicinity. The guy was like how you get mind use ladder dey climb this roof .....
Ah I no fit do this work walai.

To the controller and battery area, I found out the battery had drained to 4v and the client claimed it was a new battery.

I fixed the problem by simply connecting the PV directly to the battery so the voltage can increase, then I followed it up with charging with the inverter since there was nepa available

I delivered the job and left the site, after a day we discovered the inverter has some fault with its push switch which I service with brake oil and it was solved.

Hopefully I will bring you more epistle
