wouldn't advise that you play with li-ion cells unless you know what you are doing, it is also a labour intensive task to couple 300+ cells. This was the one I built about 3 years ago, 3s 250ah and 7s 120ah

Boss come and teach me work.
Do I pm you

Hello everyone,

I had an installer complete a 2.5KVA solar at my home. However, a piece of the battery cap broke and has been crusting leading to at least 1 episode of power outage. I fear that this would recur and of course, the installer is MIA, lots of excuses and stories. I am trying to fix this and a picture is attached, kindly advise.

Where can I buy the cap and is it a DIY replacement or do I have a bigger challenge?

Installation is less than 6 months old by the way. That's one heck of an installer for you.

What is your questions?

I no understand.

Is the terminal i broken and you want to replace it?

155w @6hrs on low budget

500 watts sachet inverter 25k

100ah battery 150k

30a solar charger controller 10k

2 150 watts solar panel 90k
and other minor accessory 30k
find an engineer to install it for you and you are good to go.
NB you can go for tokunbo panel to reduce cost.
This is almost 400k sad.

The max back he will get is 3hrs. From this set up.

Evening bro, what solar solution would you recommed/adopt for a BQ or one bedroom in todays current dispensation (economy wise and market availability)?

hp notebook - 45W
akt lightbulb - 2 nos @ 5W
smartphone charging - 2 nos @ 10W
ox fan - 80W

total load: 155W
Also, laptop & led bulb takes most priority and needs to be able to last at least about 6hrs at night.

Economy no wise this period grin.
But if you want to go cheap, lithium power kit would have been a very good option for you if you had a DC fan.

But considering your current load
Just budget 600k up

It's like saying Apple Authorized store selling clones or Slot selling clones..
It's not our of place for some sort of shenanigans to happen.

The thing is how do we verify that they have been authorised?

Even after authorisation (for professions that require licensing) I can still provide sales/services even without my renewal.

Hope you understand where am driving at

Right source, simple!

What if right source is supplying clones and inflating price?

Way back Jinko 250-300w series, there use to be imprints of Jinko solar embedded in the panels surface.

This new ones no dey get am oh.

I don't mean to cause distress but is there any case for alarm

So I did a test today with a victron quattro and got about 61% efficiency. I've done this before though and had to repeat it to be sure I was not making mistakes.

This confirmation led me to do some research and I found this....see pix attached.

Link to full article https://unboundsolar.com/solar-information/inverters-article#:~:text=The%20efficiency%20of%20an%20inverter,when%20running%20very%20small%20loads.

In summary, these "cheap chinese knockoffs" as some people like to refer to sachet inverters, are not bad at conversion efficiency, and basic protections.
How did you do the test?

Suoer 2000w/12v sachet inverter

It's gone.
To get the SMD ics and all that stuff is not worth the stress.
It's even cheaper to replace it undecided

Similar happened to me when my installer attempted my installation, although mine was a case of over voltage from battery to inverter. He connected the batteries in series and used my 12v inverter. The inverter just blow. Until now I no see am repair. It has been with different technicians for the past 6 months and none has been able to repair it. I just counted my losses and moved on. It's now scrap as far as I am concerned.

What type of inverter is that

Since you plan using lithium battery, buy hybrid inverter 3.5kva 24v.

That's what is readily available in the market.
@valto get for sale.
You didn't include the time you want to run it.
So I can't provide any opinion on it

Also, I am caught in two minds, between buying a 2.4kva 24v mercury hybrid inverter and buying a 1.5kva 12v Mercury hybrid inverter. I need it for lights, charging of laptops and phones, 120w fridge, 240w washing machine and 32 inch smart TV. I heard that 24v inverters are more efficient than 12v inverters. Also, I am just considering buying the 2.4kva in order to have extra space for more load in future. What is your advice?

Thanks for your response. You mean that I will need more solar panels to charge them, right? Will four 440w solar panels be able to charge the four 150ah batteries?

Yes to charge it.
To run load and charge, no it's small
