Yes, it works well on very low load, like a few LED Bulbs and Phone chargers and Router and fans even if l shut down everything and put on say a Cooker or Freezer or anything above 1Kw, it simple trips off and display fault error.

If I get you correctly,
You are saying onces load is above 1kw inverter trips and gives overload on 5kw inverter?

It likely smells like an inverter fault

But my thinking is that a 3000W Cooker or 1.5Hp pump should not overload a 5Kva inverter or run down battery of my size immediately or trigger two units of 200A BMS cut-off?
Do l need to increase inverter size or add another to it?

Inverter has been shutting down for sometime now, even when weather was good.
What is the best way for me to fund out what my inverter generates, l dont have those equipment like NCV Meter

The 5kva inverter has no allowance for surge and other peripheral appliances that's are running.

If the load ia reduced does it work well

Good afternoon good people.

I need help over this issue l am experiencing.
My setup us 5KVA Inverter, 5500W (10UNIT) OF PV and DIY assembled LiPo4 26KW battery.
Initially, everything was fine but after about a few months, if l switch on 1,5hp Pump, it will shut down, if l switch on Electric Hot Plate (3000W), it will shut down, despite the Inverter indicating battery was full.

I decided to add more Panels (team Big panel member), so l added 5units of 650 Panels.
Still, the problem persist, it will shut down under the slightest load over 1KW.

I am at a point where l need to get things right and l am wondering over a few options.
1) Is my problem that of inadequate Power from Inverter (appliances demanding more than its max power output) or is it bad configuration?
2) Can /Should l buy another 5KVA Hybrid Inverter and put the later acquired 650W Panels on it separately and use it to charge my battery, would it provide additional power and prevent these shutdowns?
3) Should l buy an external CC and connect to the 650W x 5units of Panels, to charge the battery.

This situation is not about a simple vendor–buyer relationship. It involves an installer who deliberately misrepresented the cost of a battery in order to charge an excessive price for the material, on top of his labour and service fees.
The installer did not claim to be the seller of the battery. Instead, he falsely told his client that the inflated price was the actual cost of the battery, and that it was equivalent in quality to his preferred choice — which was untrue.
While it’s common for artisans to add a markup on materials as part of their business model, doing so through deception is unethical. A modest fee for logistics or handling is understandable, but a markup of 30% or more — amounting to hundreds of thousands in profit on a single battery — is unreasonable.
If someone wants to profit from selling materials, they should operate transparently as a retailer, where they can set prices as they wish. As an installer, however, the fair approach is to charge openly for labour and logistics, not to disguise excessive profit margins within the material cost.

Following the bolded, it is within the installer capacity to act as both.

Besides a lot of Nigerian solar companies rendering installation and sales companies does it.

Besides it seems a lot of end users are on this thread and don't seem to understand that this are people means of livelihood

The features might not really be a problem.

It can always be upgraded.

If OP had procured the materials himself and reached out just for installation services and he was charged a percentage of the worth of materials, on this forum a lot of folks will say it's a rip off.
( speaking from an electrical installation perspective, the regulatory body allows you to charge within 10-15% ).

If the contractor, is fully aware of a particular product downside been procured by the client, he will likely take blames for not disclosing it.

Now, in this case we are mentioning greed, let's do a cost analysis of both products.

(This is likely why deriy batteries are quite cheaper)
Dealers get a margin of around 10%
So let's round off to ₦165,000

This brings the cost to around ₦1,815,000.

Then Alaba market price is 1.9m -2.2m.

Nigerian assembled
The still sell around the same ₦1,650,000 - ₦1,700,000

And they operate with B2C model. So their cost is almost low.

The question is, how many percent margin should you charge as a service provider/contractor?

I don't know what the warranty terms are, but the client will likely hold the service provider/contractor responsible.


What's the essence of this analysis
We are looking the 400k difference in price is quite huge because it's a Nigerian made product. Aftersales service are secondary problem.

PS: having an idea of requirements and cost from people with experience here is always an added advantage

So the basic reason why I said you hire an installer is this.

You already have a set up, you just likely want to do am upgrade on it.

We can't tell you how many panels you can use because you said there a space allocated, we can't tell you the length of wire etc.

So hiring an installer and paying him for the quote or site survey, will help us to guide you.

Any answer you get over this subject is likely speculations.

Due to light situation in my area, Enugu State, I'm thinking of solar as backup. what capacity and brand 'of inverter, battery, and solar panel will be required for 2 TVs (55inch & 32 inch), 2 decoders, 5 ceiling fans, 2 rechargeable fans, 4 laptops, 15 bulbs (5 watts), 1hp inverter AC, 8.5kg washing machine, pumping machine and 259L freezer. From camp you can apply for relocation.
Lagos, pH and Abuja are not on the portal.

Unless you are planning to use plug, it would have been easier when she had her call up no. But since she has been posted, she will need to serve in Niger State for 3months before she can be relocated ( this is what makes it difficult, but it's achievable)
