Yesterday Sunday, we where active at abule oshun Lagos where we where installing 1330wp of PV.

Structure was a 2 storey building (we used scaffold for this) the structure was above 45ft. So ladder was a no go area.

I don't have much information on the internals, my duty was just to oversee the PV installation and dropping off the Wire.

This are the few images we where able to capture smiley.

We are still available and active in warri and Lagos cool

As you are planning to buy hybrid, plan for a good protection systems (earthing in particular).
Repair of those equipment is expensive.

2 ceiling fans!! How many watts each? A TV 2laptops simultaneously.

Hmm just like I said earlier get ready to replace your battery soon of you power all these appliances after sundown.

And you need to add the next battery within the next 3 months or so.

As per the charge current, I wasn't referring to over charge but over current and your battery will most likely swell or explode at some point because when there's no load and there's good sunlight, your charger would be sending over 50amps into the battery.

Just prepare to replace your battery soon it might not last 6months.

Plus the best you will get after sun down is 4hrs power supply if you power on your fans before hitting 50% DOD
What is the function of a charge controller?

I don't think this is true

I am a DIY Solar user to be and I have bought the following Items for my setup.

1) 2 550W Jinko Solar Panels (TechLand Solar)
2) 12v 3000w EASun Inverter From a fellow Nairalander
3) 12v 200A Battery Full River From Idyllic Tech.
4) 120A MPPT Charge Controller From Gennex Technologies

Now, I need advise on every other thing I need to get to have my setup up and running (Cables, Change Over, other accessories etc. ).

I would appreciate every tip and learnings from you all. Thanks
You no buy charger for Nepa charging?
You will need breaker or fuse , your load is what would determine the changeover(100A will do), trunks, breaker housing, surge, cable lugs, mounting rails and assembly this is what I can remember

Good day to everyone here, please I need help on my diy , I need help on my solar set up, I have a panel with the following data sheet.
Rated max power 190w
Current at pmax 5.18A
Voltage at pmax 36.7v
Short circuit current 5.6A
Open circuit voltage 44.8v

Cell type ; mono
Maximum system voltage 1000v

and a mpw charge controller with the following data sheet;
Rated voltage: 12/24
Rated current: 30A
Maximum PV voltage: 50V

I have 12/ 75ah battery connected to the charge controller with hope of using the panel to charge, what I observed was that when the sun is at peak the battery indicator on the controller shows full bar and voltage increases up to 17v on the controller. recently I forgot to manually disengage the charging after about 7hr and when I remembered I discovered the battery has swollen, though still working.
please is there anything wrong with my connection? how do I prevent the charge controller from overcharging the battery without me disengaging it manually? did I need to make any adjustment, kindly help pls.
The cc is not regulating properly, because I see no reason why a 30A PWM can't control and monitor the charging

I suddenly heard a kind of alarm sound coming from the inverter and when I went to check, it wasn't charging. Only the indicator on the body of the inverter for when there's nepa light was displaying.

Pls any idea of what could have happened below is the model of the inverter and also the charge controller I'm using

NO

if you check, you see the columns have headers titled "Application" , "Charging Voltage" , "initial Current"

and that your 80Amps falls under "initial Current". Now that means you shouldn't draw more than 80Amps at a time during cycle use.

if you want to identify the charging current, just look for a word that starts with letter C followed by 2-digits and if you look on the battery body, you would see C10 . Now that's the charge current.

Now, you really don't need those information to successful charge such battery when using a charge Controller or even a reputable charger because they do have charging profiles where you select the battery type.
My oga am loyal sir.
But you seem to be mistaken the C10 on the battery.

Let's also remember we have C20.
And 0.25c written on some batteries

How much should i budget for conncetion that will power a laptop, two rechargeable fans, phones and minor accessories.
A budget of ₦300-350 should get you something tangible.

If you want something stationery then regular battery is your guy.

Happy new month.
We have started the month in good faith.
Yesterday's job was tedious, but we are grateful.

So along the line of duty call, I was opportune to meet Alhaji yewa from Sokoto. Man was very courageous considering the complexity of the job, even do I was stressed while executing the task. I was marveled by his courage.

We where faces with relocation of 6 Pcs of 250w solar panels from the main building (storey building), then relocated it to the varanda behind the house.

The job could not be finished yesterday because of some issues (wire that was bought was 10mm but the seller supplied 6mm) I wonder why some people are dubious.

Been a consultant/ 3rd part to the job, when I made my observations, chairman no gree sad sad.
I had to calm down and started explain the tricks wire sellers used in selling wire.

He called the supplier and she pretended not to know, but said we can return it and ask for refund grin grin grin grin grin.
A whole 200k + for 50yrds of 10mm undecided undecided

Good day sir happy Sunday..can I use my bed size fridge with a sachet 1500 watts inverter.it will be only in the afternoon when the sun is out ...or my 8kg washing machine..

Lastly can you help with the things I needed for a 180 litters inverter freezer.,I will love to set an inverter for only the freezer that will be able to work minimum of 17 hours per day
That's inverter is not advisable to be used for a fridge..
However since you want to try it on it, I don't think it will successfully power the fridge.

Bosses in the house, please I have an issue. I connected my 105w freezer to my 1050v inverter, and I got a message saying "short circuit, please check wiring". Please, what could be the cause of this?

Other appliances like my TV, laptop, lights work normal. The message only shows when I plug the freezer, and then the inverter would go off. If it were an overload issue, it would have shown the overload warning message. This is where I'm getting confused.

Thanks for all your contributions in advance.
Probably there is a short circuit in the fridge.
Does the fridge works well on nepa?

If it works well, then know that the inverter can't withstand the starting surge of the fridge
