Good morning fellow enthusiasts,

I'm curious if anyone has experience with back feeding excess PV harvest into their grid supply. My inverter has this feature, which allows me to do so. I'm wondering if it's possible for my prepaid meter to roll backwards, enabling me to buy back some units from the grid.

I appreciate your prompt response and wish you all a fantastic week ahead.

Best regards,

Our prepaid meter doesn't support it.

Besides which sub station to you want to send it to?

Your best bet is to sell the electricity to your neighbours.
It will require 2 Meters, the consumer and your monitoring system.

That's hardly an issue. Worse case scenerio, you place something on top to cover it BUT I have never done such becase the coating is more than enough

This are the challenges I have witnessed

@bassdow has a point about using aluminium cables. But the disadvantage is that those cables easily break when you want to dress them(you go dey Do vigilantes work.

Aside that, those cable coating are prone to wear because of temperature and the environment it's been used.
It's not a good idea for aluminium or zinc roofing.

In summary, don't take my opinion for it. Na work I learn, what do I really know grin grin grin

Question: 2. Is it advisable to use an hybrid inverter in terms of durability, efficiency and stability, if yes, what brand?

Answer: I have always adviced against Hybrid inverter systems and have on several occassion, given plethrea of reasons as backing. I might not be willing to wa ste space and time repeating myself yet again BUT just understand that whoever made the parable that "You shouldn't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket" , is more than Correct.

Naturally, the Fan's charging system already struggles to charge it's followCome battery of low amperage. To add battery of higher amperage na extra wahala, except dem go use external charger.

Also those fans don't come with Low Voltage cutOff hence that one go follow dey kill the batteries fast join

Hello house.. I trust we are all doing good and I must salute every solar energy professional and users in this forum for their contributions. I've learnt a lot being here.

Please I would like to ask if anyone knows where I can get very durable batteries for rechargeable fans. I need a 12v7.5A, 6V4.5A. this is very urgent.

Either ready made or DIY, as long as it'll be durable. Thank you all for your contributions.
Go and buy keke napep batteries.
They will serve better.
Those battery you are looking for doesn't worth the price they are call.

The only disadvantage is some times, the fan may not cover well

Good Day my bosses.
What is the best series or parallel combination for my pv.
I have 2 ploy 300w panels.
2 mono 280w panels.
1 300w mono panel.
Will be adding 4 300w mono panels in a couple of days.
Is the 3s3p or all parallel combo best for me.
Thanks.

You for allow your installer think for you oh.

Let me say this here, people that have browser internet and read all manner then to spend money more than people that agree they have less knowledge.

So I am trying to update this thread with images and nairaland is blocking it undecided.

No problem.
So far work has been going fine in Warri even though am away (am presently in Lagos State).

Shout out to blessed and emeretus, they have been able to attend to urgent jobs/ installation that needed my presence.

Meanwhile, in one of the jobs where we where contracted to just install the solar panels, emeretus was like oga, you suppose come site make you come motivate us oh grin grin grin.

But in all, we have collectively installed 5000wp for just this month.
About 3000wp(350 *6 & 300*3) in Warri and 2000wp (265w* 4 and 235*4) in Lagos.

Shout out also to all the nairalands whey dey give us food smiley.

I will still try to upload images I no gree for Seun.

Get a bus that can carry load, state it that you do delivery liase with people in the market, then run delivery within Lagos.

I went to Alaba order ride nobody answered me.

Can I message you off of here please? Cos I am thinking the cc is faulty at this moment,my battery was very very low prior to that and when the cc wasn't charging it,I had to disconnect and use a generator to charge and when I plugged back into the cc,the case was still the same thing.

Will 25mm wire be able to enter those small small holes that most of these MPPT charge controllers come with. Cos 25mm is quite thick

You have to force it.

But yes it will

All I need is wire guage size sir. Pictures bawo😄. If you want to carry 80amp from Charge controller to 12v system Battery. How many mm wire will sufficiently carry 80A. Battery distance to controller is less than 1yard. Thats what I am asking
25mm+

Thanks. My fear is its dangerously close to the VOC. Also what wire guage wud u advice?
39.8 * 3 = roughly 120v.
39.8 *2 = 80v roughly.

Running 4s is a waste of one panel to me from experience.
So choose your fate accordingly angry

If you are running high voltage, your wire gauge becomes smaller. For this application 6mm is okay.

However if you will be upgrading in the future, you might have to factor in cost of wires

My ogas in the house, pls i need ur help? Got a must 5kva 48v hybrid inverter with mppt volt range of 60 to 130vdc and VOC of 145vdc. I have 8 panels of 300w with ffl specs of Vmp 32.7, Voc 39.3, Imp 9.18 and Isc 9.65. What's best way to connect it. Distance from roof to charger is about 15m. Installer recommends 2 strings of 4 panels in series then parallel both strings. Also wud a 6mm solar cable suffice or its too small? Thanks for ur help.
2s4p considering you have just 8

If adding an extra panel is not going to be an issue,
3s3p

I just installed 2*475w jinko panels and powmr 60a cc.

My tubular batteries are very low as they're showing 20v on the cc,but the issue I have now is I'm seeing the charging voltage from the cc,but not the wattage,I don't know if that makes any sense.

The inverter also isn't on atm because I intend to charge to 27v atleast before powering it on.

Could the inverter not being on be the reason why I can't see the wattage from the panels?

Remove solar input and put it back

Then go to settings D4 select 00.

This is default settings for lead acid.

Then proceed to set the voltage of the battery D1 and D2 I think
