A cook who served Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, a Managing Director at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Abuja, has absconded with cash and pieces of jewelry worth $6million, a source told SaharaReporters on Wednesday. It was gathered that the man, identified as Gabel Segbedji, a national of Benin Republic, took off with the loot in a Toyota Camry car which also belonged to her boss, last Wednesday. Although reportedly devastated by the development, Mrs. Nnamdi-Ogbue did not report the burglary to the police, in the hope of avoiding further attention, as she is already under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Mrs. Nnamdi Ogbue was the Managing Director of the cash-spinning Petroleum Products and Marketing Company (PPMC) before she was moved to Products Retail by then GMD of NNPC, Ibe Kachikwu, in 2015. Segbedji is said to have been recommended for employment to Mrs. Nnamdi-Ogbue by a close friend of hers, Toke Benson. Our source said the NNPC chief obtained the mountain of cash from kickbacks given by oil marketers The theft of the stash is likely to affect plans for the wedding of her daughter scheduled for later this month in london. i really still dont get why this should still be a conspiracy. if you have been following procedings of happenings right from when you claimed this kidnapping chibok girls issue is a scam, will it still be convenient for you sir, to also say; our military, airforce and viligante groups that have tried in their best human capacity to have curtailed the war only to the NE and your suspicious chibok kidnapping to be scam too? secondly, will it also be convenient for you to say that our gallant men and vigilante groups who are people's fathers, uncles, cousins, to be fathers, fiancées, grand fathers and the list is endless who have in one way lost and sacrificed their lifes in battle for you and me to be comfortable and safe wherever we are to be scam again? have you also forgotten that the chibok issue is also part of the ongoing war in the NE? bros, however way you wana view this issue as a conspiracy and how well you want to assume government is playing politics with it, just be aware that there's an ongoing war in the NE and patrotic lifes are been lost there on a daily basis. besides, have lost 8 guys there and i can tell you sir, its no conspiracy. |

Sylvester Idowu in Warri. A top Commander of the Urhobo/Isoko militant group, Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM), has been nabbed by the operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) code-named Operation Delta Safe. Security sources told THISDAY Monday night that the high profile suspect was apprehended on Sunday after diligent surveillance by JTF operatives. The suspect, whose name could not be ascertained at the time of this report, was said to have been arrested along with four of his foot soldiers. THISDAY learnt that the militant Commander was one of the brains behind incessant attacks on trunk lines in Ughelli and its environs. It was learnt that soldiers attached to 222 Battalion, Ughelli, stepped up a massive manhunt for the members of Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate since last Saturday after the group claimed it breached Iwhremaro trunk line in Ughelli North Local Government area of Delta State on Friday night. “We stepped up action when the group again claimed it vandalised another pipeline and it paid of with the arrest of one of their kingpins along with four other militants” a top security source said. Acting JTF spokesman, Lieutenant Commander Thomas Otuji, confirmed the arrests to THISDAY. recession : no be only one road lead to market. |
just dont know wht these our guys are looking for and i still dont understand the hype and why you have to travel that far to make a statement( understandably because of the money) but have you finished capturing the whole african market(correct me if am wrong though)? Dbanj recently floated his pet project had a workshop (cant remember the title) and in his remark, he said and i quote, "he wouldn't want any Nigerian or upcoming Nigerian musician to make the same mistake he made". please who can tell me what that statement means? apparently for the fact he was doing well in both 9ja and African scene, he would have just chilled and capture the market well before going abroad because the market here is very huge and can contain the whole big players in the industry. 2face is a big force to reckon with in the African space because dude just respect himself and never crossed his boundaries yet, he's doing very well. Angelina Kijo comes to mind(even though these oyinbo people came knocking on her door, she took her time and never rushed)she never struggled neither did she force herself into the American market yet, look at were she is with 2 grammys to her credit(hop i spelt her name right). in dbanj's case, he was too hungry for fame back then that it threw him into were i dont understand and as olisa, the OAP rightly puts it, as a african and nigerian, you never sabi your culture finish let alone you wan sabi the culture of the the Americans and Europeans. e no go work. as it stands now, if davido is not carefull, he's just on his own. |

The Turkish government has commenced a massive deportation of Nigerian students resident in the country, TheCable can report. Rukkaya Usman, a Nigerian student deported from the country, said the Turkish government does not give a reason for the action. Usman, a final year student of political science and international relations at the University of Melikseh, told TheCable on Saturday that she arrived in Turkey at 8am on September 26, but that she was detained at the airport for about 10 hours after which she was funnelled into an aircraft for a flight back to Nigeria. “As I got to the airport, at the immigration; they (immigration) collected my passport and resident permit. They started to ask me questions like: ‘what are you studying?’ ‘What’s your father’s name?’ They took my passport. This was on September 26. I asked what was happening. But they said they didn’t know, that it was a new law, that they were sending me back to my country,” she narrated. “They said if I had any questions I should go to my embassy and ask. I was put in a room. There were about seven other people. We were locked up in the room; there were cameras. We were not allowed to talk to anyone. I was told that my next flight was at 6pm. I asked for my passport, but they said I would get it when I get to my country. “They took me to the plane, and they watched me as I boarded the aircraft.” TheCable understands that the Turkish government is in a drive to deport all Nigerian students at universities linked to Fethullah Gulen’s Hizmet movement. Gulen is an Islamic cleric whom President Recep Erdogan of Turkey considers as his strongest rival. After the botched July 15 coup, Erdogan launched a massive crackdown on the investments of Gulen’s followers. He blamed Gulen for the coup, but the cleric has denied the allegation. A few weeks after the coup, the Turkish government asked the Nigerian government to shut down all the schools which had affinity with Gulen. But the Nigerian government did not oblige them. The Turkish government has now resorted to deporting Nigerian students resident in the country. THISDAY earlier reported how 50 students were arrested and detained.
