OP well done for for your partisan analysis. e pain you well well my Idoma brother. You Hero GEJ had one of the highest revenue accruing to his govt but could only did what u analysized....what a shame.

Pls you can also analyse this: assuming your salary is reduced from 120k to 30k or 50k, kindly analyse what you can achieve with as compared to ur colleague whose salary remains @ 120k.
My very good brother,

Let me start by letting you know that the salaries of virtually all Nigerians irrespective of class have been reduced by at least 1/2 by inflation , what your salary could buy 24 months ago I could barely buy half .

Buhari needed sound economic policies to take us to the promise land , his forex policies destroyed the naira , increased cost of living and increased hardship.

I don't hate Buhari No I just want a better Nigeria and a better Benue by extension.

God bless you

A biased comparison without considering the major factors that make and mar a government. You can't achieve as much in recession as out of it. I just keep wondering how GEJ would have survived if he were in Buhari's shoes.
My dear many of the benchmark that gave PMB lower scores did not require high oil prices like I said earlier

1. Handling the rampaging herdsmen only require an order yet he sad and just did nothing

2. Is crude oil also responsible for the one sided employment and appointment no its simply nepotism this also affected his score

3. He spent six months only to end up with characters like Dalung how will sound policies come

If he does well I will praise him but don't blackmail me because I hold an opinion based on facts!

Oil price

Buhari - $50/barel

Jonathan - $110/barel
Madam

when we talk objectively there is no need for insults if truly you mean well for Nigeria

the reason why the crude price excuse will not fly is simple

1.Jonathan had a crude oil price of 110 but he had to contend with a huge subsidy regime which the APC stopped him from removing
2. Now Buhari has no high crude prices but he does not have the huge burden of subsidy which is now been paid by ordinary Nigerians.

A sound economic policy does not need crude oil to work it’s neither a machine no an equipment it’s an idea or innovation on paper

Treating each segment of the country failure does not need oil prices

Putting the right people in the right places even though they don’t come from your village does not need crude oil prices

PRESIDENT BUHARI Vs GOODLUCK JONATHAN's MID TERM ASSESSMENT
SCORES & CRITERIA

On the 30th of May 2013 on the challenge of then President Goodluck Jonathan' I presented a score card of where In my opinion I felt the then President had done well and the places he failed, four years on I am again presented with an opportunity to x ray a different administration this time the All progressive Congress whose stalwarts have challenged citizens to stone them if their mid-term score falls below par.

Just like I did with President Jonathan I will also score President Buhari based on critical benchmarks, but this time there will be a comparison between the two, here are the scores and why

Aviation 65%
Although the local airlines are almost in coma due to spare parts and forex scarcity, with a host of international airlines including Delta Airlines leaving the country due to medieval policies, the Buhari performed fairly well in the Aviation sector. The score of 65% was reached as a result of the following

1. Speed of upgrade of Kaduna Airport and repair of the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport Abuja and the professional manner in which passengers were handled and moved in- between cities.

2. Relative safety record in the sector and progress on rehabilitation especially the Abuja new terminal.

However, job losses, airlines folding ups, and the completion of the Daura helipad being the only other major project completed gave the president the 65% score

PMB 55%. GEJ 95%

Reason for GEJ's 95%
Rehabilitation and modernization of terminals ,New international and cargo Airports, improved services ,waivers, etc

Rail Transport 39%

Here the President should have done better because he could have built on the success of the previous administration, the president fared well with the painting and commissioning of the Abuja - Kaduna Speed rail constructed by President Jonathan.
Apart from this the administration has struggled to find finance to fund its proposed coastal rail projects while the rehabilitated rail infrastructure inherited from the Jonathan Administration seems to be decaying under Buhari. Work has however progressed on the Abuja light rail project being constructed by the Chinese.

PMB 39%. GEJ 80%

GEJ rating was due to
(Rehabilitation of rail lines, resumption of the Lagos - Kano service after 15 years , new air conditioned coaches and improved services at upgraded of stations, Kaduna -Abuja speed rail , Abuja light rail etc )

Water Transport 75%

Buhari did better than Jonathan here because some of the projects executed under GEJ especially the dredging are being redone and marine transport seem not to have improved despite the huge investment by Pres Yaradua. By expectation ships should have been moving cargo from Onitsha to Lokoja- Niger state but as at today the channels are still blocked.

The recent acquisitions of Ships and improvement in port operations by the NPA ensured PMB got better scores than GEJ here

PMB 75 %. GEJ 65%

Roads 25%

Here is one area that the current administration is doing terribly, most reads that were previously motorable have simply crumbled under this administration, road maintenance seem to have gone into oblivion.
With the exception of the Lagos - Ibadan expressway that was also under construction by GEJ our roads are in a complete sham , traveling with personal vehicles have become more expensive not because of fuel but largely due to what bad roads inflicts on vehicles.
The only "good" side to this problem is that spare parts dealers and mechanics are smiling.

PMB 25%. GEJ 65%

GEJ score was due to:
Improved road network, less potholes on highways, SURE P intervention on East West Road , Benin -Ore , Kano- Maiduguri, Abuja- Lokoja, Loko- oweto Etc ,)

Agriculture 25%

When a country has an Agriculture minister that is aspiring to import grass from Brazil to feed cows when there is no food for humans in the land what you get is hunger and starvation .

Rice became untouchable to, many families in Nigeria because we banned the product when our local production could barely meet 25% of our total demand a fatal error!!!!!

Another major issue in the agricultural sector under Buhari was the blind eye he turned to the activities of his fellow Fulani herders who invade farms eat up crops and harvest and in most instances kill the farmers.Benue the food basket of the nation was the worst hit.

Dr Akinkumi Adeshina pioneerd the rice revolution under GEJ, fertilizer -wallet, cocoa production and Hyde's and skin export Buhari should have built on that, but it never happened!

PMB 25% GEJ. 80 %

Power 35%.
As Governor of Lagos, Fashola had thundered that providing power supply was not rocket science today it seems PMBs minister of power is providing more darkness than Nigerians can endure.
Under PMB the electricity bills were tripled yet Nigerians continue to pay for darkness despite the promise by the APC to provide 20,000 megawatts of electricity.

PMB 35.% GEJ. 39%

Reason for GEJ's 39
(Although good progress was made in the privatisation of GENCOS and DISCOS, low harvest of generated power, persistent outages ,load shedding, failure to meet prepaid meter targets, outrageous bills, nonchalant attitude of PHCN to customer needs , un maintained and overloaded transformers, continued to plague Nigerians)

Security 55%.
Overall PMB feared better that GEJ here , the Sunday - Sunday bombing of churches under GEJ seem to have been disappeared under Buhari, many of the chibok girls are back although many still believed it was stage managed , suicide bombings seem to have been confined to Borno axis.
PMB would have scored much higher here but for the following reasons

1. Escalation of Kidnapping for Ransome and rise in robbery across Nigeria.

2. Terror being unleashed on citizens by Fulani herdsmen

PMB 55 % GEJ 50%

Foreign Investment 29%
Despite spending a chunk of the foreign reserve on foreign travels PMB score card on foreign investment is abysmal , to complicate matters Nigeria was not only displaced as the top destination for FDI in Africa it is no longer on the list of nations.
The nation recorded its lowest ever qrt inflow of 501.83 USD Million under PMB.

https://tradingeconomics.com/nigeria/foreign-direct-investment

A Forex regime that allows you to bring in money but bar you from taking your profit was the medieval policy that drove investor's from Nigeria.

The good news is that investors are gradually returning due to new policy changes effected

PMB 29% GEJ 80%

Ports operations 50 %

But for the executive orders issued last week nothing has changed at our port, the roads leading to the major ports had even deteriorated, the good news here is that corruption among customs officials has reduced, and transparency has been improved upon but ethnicity and religion seem to be the new yardsticks these days.

PMB 50%. GEJ% 50%

Healthcare 32%
Under PMB rats killed many Nigerian's. Many Lassa fever deaths could have been avoided if the right things were done on time like we did in the Ebola crisis. Meningitis that was contained for years became an unsurmountable hill for PMBs team, the quality of care Government hospitals is a story for another day.
Perhaps these conditions necessitated the policy Summersault that resulted in PMB seeking foreign treatment for his ear infection & his latter medical challenges.

PMB 32% GEJ 75%

GEJ score was due to ( less labour acrimony in the sector, improved service delivery especially in Maternal and Child Health , COMESS ,CONTIS, approval and payment ,strengthening of NHIS among others )

Labour 21%
2 years in office, 2 years promotion areas , including unpaid salaries across the country. Pensioner entitlements continued to be delayed among many other labour issues that stems mainly from nepotism in employment.

The government promised 3 million jobs annually but lost more than 4.5 million jobs in a single year.

http://pulse.ng/local/buhari-4-58-million-nigerians-have-lost-their-jobs-under-president-nbs-id5440745.html

Nothing explains this score better than the actions of the workers themselves who booed , pelted and walked out on the labour minister, Governors and other APC leaders at this year’s workers day ..

PMB. 21%. GEJ 75%

GEJ score was due to (improved minimum wage workers& NYSC, pensions payments, centralised payroll systems among others)

Petroleum sector 40%

This score is as a result if the huge scarcity of petroleum products witnessed in the first of the two years of Buhari presidency despite the increase in pump price our refineries are still in coma and product importation still remain high.

The promise of 40 per liter during the campaign and the fake mathematical equation used to derive same by Tam David west has simply vanished leaving Nigerians with huge transport fares, a hole in the pocket due to power generator fuel consumption and bitter taste of change in the mouth.
Despite the Niger Delta sabotage Buhari has done fairly well to make products available and exploration in the chad & Benue basins have continued.

Buhari 40% GEJ 60%

GEJ score was due to (increasing the refining capacity to 10.2 million litres daily, stability in petrol price and supply, cleansing of the subsidy scheme and increased private sector investment participation)

Economic growth and stability 10%

The moment PMB segregated Nigerians into 5% and 95 % national stability was put on the line, and everyone knows that national stability and economic growth are conjoined twins.
The nation is currently in its worst recession with negative GDP growth, the naira is competing with Zimbabwean dollar for relevance, while factories continue to fold up due to lack of forex to buy spares and raw material.
Buhari met the naira 197 to the dollar his policies ensured that the naira was the world’s worst performing currency by 2017.
The inability of the president to see himself as the father of all increased instability and dampened growth, the complete lack of wisdom in the blind implementation of the TSA was the final nail in the coffin of the economy.

PMB 10%. GEJ 70%

GEJ s score was due to ( The growth in the economy placing Nigeria as one of the fastest growing Economy in the world with Over $50 billion in External reserves ,(Real) strong bank courtesy of CBN reforms)

Corruption 60%

The score would have been much higher due to the whistle blower successes and high profile arrests and trials but for the following
1. Turning a blind eye to corrupt APC stalwarts
2. Constituting himself into accuser, judge and "God"
3. Disobedience and complete disregard for the judiciary and court orders

This three and many more has enmeshed Buharis corruption crusade into the mud and transformed it into a drive to eliminate competition, this was not helped by the actions of Babachir the grass cutter and his above the law chief of staff.

PMB 60% GEJ 49%

Education 15%

The illegal dissolution of The governing council of universities and the replacement of performing vice chancellors and competent workers with lackeys and relatives has characterized education in the last two years.

The dip in the efficiency of JAMB, the cancellation of presidential scholarships as well as the plight of many Nigerian's on nationally funded scholarship including the closures of higher institutions already set up by GEJ did not help Buhari cause here.

PMB 45%. GEJ 80%

GEJ s score was due to (The establishment of Federal universities in all states without one , the introduction of the Almajiri school system, the almost seamless flow and stability in universities ,Graduate and PG scholarship
Schemes, unity schools rehabilitation among others )

Press Freedom 4%
I won't be explaining this !!!!!!! The title speaks for itself, not just PMB, a huge slice of the APC including their leaders are allergic to criticism!

Ask Abati !!

PMB 4%. GEJ 95%

Electoral reforms 3%

Elections and INEC under PMB is similar to Iwu's INEC or iwururu as I call him under OBJ, inconclusiveness and mandate robbery under police and army supervision has become the norm.
Edo is case study!

PMB 3%. GEJ 91%

International Relations. 70%

Although most of his trips outside Nigeria has not yielded dividend, Buhari score card on international relations is excellent, his action at ensuring a peaceful transition in the Gambia is commendable, however, his refusal to obey the ECOWAS court is threatening to rubbish this.

PMB 70% GEJ 70%

Final Note.
It is difficult for some many to see things beyond Religion, politics and ethnicity, but it is instructive to note that if Nigeria gets better today we will all be beneficiaries, if things also become worse we will all feel the bite because we all go to thesame market , and the traders will treat us the sameway whether we are partyless , APGA, PDP ,APC, or even KOWA that's why we must at all times tell our leaders the truth and help them take decisions that will help Nigeria achieve true greatness.

Overall the Buhari administration has recorded some highs but with many lows especially in critical sectors. nevertheless for the country to achieve any meaningful development we must rise above sectarian divisions, promote objectivity and patriotism and in the end Nigeria will be a better place for us and our children .

Finally I wish President Buhari a quick recovery and safe return home.

God bless Nigeria & Happy Democracy Day 2017

As May 29 draws closer it appears presidential aides are increasingly becoming desperate in their search for imaginary achievements to ascribe to their principal.

Their predicament was not helped by Blomberg's report on Nigeria s economy this morning which indicated that just like I predicted the presidents medieval economic policy has destroyed Nigeria's economy.

See Link: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-05-23/nigeria-slump-continues-as-gdp-contracts-0-5-in-first-quarter

When innovative leaders were busy looking for technological breakthroughs that will give their countries an edge our change agents were busy aspiring to produce Pencil.

If not desperation and directionlessness when has email address opening become an achievement?

Even a class captain in a primary school can do better, its a shame!

By this time GEJ was already presenting his mid term score card and Lai of the AC then was all over the place claiming those things don't exist, today he is the minister of information & his only achievement in office is ........... Masquerade jobs !

May God help us to help ourselves

Wondering why the APC and the Jigawa state Governor are having sleepless nights over Alhaji Sule Lamido?

This grassroot politician is well loved by his people, a core Obasanjo ally and Former Minister under the former, Lamido is today an institution in Northern Nigeria, it appears the attempt to rubbish his reputation and destroy his political career with draconian bail conditions & persecution has only served to bolster his popularity especially among the neglected and exploited in the North.

It appears the Northern Youths are no more interested in the the imaginary 5000 naira stipend, the 2 million Ghost jobs and other empty promises, hence their switch of allegiance to the leader of the Talakawas ( downtrodden).

This crowd gathered just to escort him from the court home after he was granted bail

Christianity EtcRe: Apostle Johnson Suleman's Claim That David's Mother Was A Harlort by ochejoseph(op): 1:24pm On Apr 25, 2017
Usually I stay off threads involving Apostle Johnson Sulaiman for two reasons .

1. I know something is not right somewhere

2. I run the temptation of going against scriptures and enter into the relm of judging.

Unfortunately when I came across this screaming headline "Apostle Johnson Suleiman calls David mother a Harlort" I was alarmed, but I quickly decided to dubble check, this article is not meant to rubbish the clergy man or support his assertion but to present the truth

Glancing through several scriptures, commentary ,Jewish documents, books and internet Files here is what I discovered

1. The Bible provides little detail about the mother of David the most revealing insight into Davids family was made During Samuels visit to
Jesse's family to anoint a king

I sam 16 verse 1-13

2. Searches revealed that The name of Davids mother was Nitzevet, an Israelite woman . according to the Talmud, but she is not named in the Bible. She was an ancestor of the Kings of Judah accordingly to Wikipedia

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitzevet

3 . According to records Jesse was not the first man Husband of Davids mother.
Nahash an Amonite king was her first Husband
(2 Sam. 17:25, 2 Sam. 10:2) & (1 Sam. 11:1; 1 Sam. 12:12).
Note : under the old testament ( Mosaic Law) divorce was allowed .

This explains why Davids two sister's where fathered by Nahash and not Jesse (David had two half-sisters (Zeruiah, Abigail) 1 Chron. 2:13-16 .

So why do few analyst and "scholars" refer to this woman as a harlot ?

1. Perhaps one of their greatest weapon could be found in one of greatest Psalms of David. Psalm 51 they claim his mother was pregnant out of marriage.

Let's take a close look at Psalm 51
kindly note the emphasis David puts On himself..,

Psalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out MY transgressions.2 Wash me throughly from MINE iniquity, and cleanse me from MY sin.3 For I acknowledge MY transgressions: and MY sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Unfortunately, most people who want to reinforce the notion of Promiscuity will run to verse 5b

"in Sin did my mother conceive me"

David was not blaming his sin on his birth, but he was simply stating that even the circumstances related to his birth were surrounded by sin, and he also says that he was ”wonderfully” and ”marvelously” made by God in the womb (Ps. 139:13-14).

2. Another incident they try to use to justify this notion that does not edify is in 1 sam 16 asserting that Jesse did not consider David as one of his Sons that's why he was not considered as worthy of appearing before the prophet Samuel.

This is another speculation without any proof whatsoever.

Summary.
Davids mother was not a harlot, even the Torah advocates and those who claim his brothers treated him as a second class citizens as a result of his prayer will bow to the fact that even before slaying Goliath, his brothers were very interested in Davids safety and wanted him out of harms way as quickly as possible.

His parents were together and during his crisis period he sought safety for them

1 Samuel 22:3-4 "And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me

The scriptures are explicit & God himself exposed the adulterous life of David as a king, if his mother was a harlot it would have been known, his blackmailers and enemies would have trumpeted it when he became a Israel's most wanted man .

Rahab a Harlot was an ancestor of Jesus as clearly seen In Mathew Chapter 1 :5 but to claim that Davids Mother was a harlot might be misrepresenting the truth and taking speculative commentary too far,

To end this little piece I will leave us with this scripture which has helped me from dwelling on unnecessary and unedificational theology.

'The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law" Deuteronomy 29 vs 29

Our emphasis should be on Jesus who died for our sins, surrender your life to him today and give your life a true meaning.

Enjoy your week

Politics2019: Who Can Stop Atiku? by ochejoseph(op): 1:59pm On Mar 19, 2017
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has been a guest of many prominent political, traditional and religious leaders across the country in the past few weeks.Iyobosa Uwugiaren examines the strategic, political moves

Even the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari knew long time ago that the former Vice-President and one of the founders of All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is a man to watch out for in the emerging political calculations, for 2019 presidential election. And apparently aware of his intimidating political structures across the nation, those with similar tall ambition have consistently built wedges on his way.

But trust him: Atiku has continued to walk along the blustery, stormy political pathway.

A senior presidential aide recently told THISDAY how at the early days of the present administration—-in 2015, the former Vice-President approached Buhari with ‘’a solid economic blueprint’’—detailing how the country could immediately absolved the shock of the fall of oil price in the global market—that has consistently threatened the economy of Nigeria in the last one year. Oil accounts for about 95 per cent of the nation’s foreign earnings, and by extension, the livewire of the nation’s economy.

Atiku was said to have comprehensively came up with a plan—how the administration could create a ‘’competitive market’’ that will attract the big foreign investment players into the country—assurances that their proposed billions of dollars investments in the country would be saved.

‘’Atiku’s economic blueprint, which contains detail policies and implementation strategies was handed over to the President. And President Muhammadu Buhari was initially pleased with the suggestion’’, the presidency source added.

‘’But few weeks later, some political hawks around the president strongly advised him not to allow Atiku Abubakar to use his indirect means to bring into country his billions of dollars. The fear of these political hawks was that the former Vice-President will use the huge fund to fight him in the 2019 presidential election.’’

The result of that advice was what the former Vice-President (Africa) of The World Bank, Dr. Obey Ezekwesilse, described as ‘’opaque, archaic and ambiguous foreign exchange rate policy’’ that have compounded the nation’s economic recession.

The assertion of the source is that it was the fear of Atiku that forced Buhari to adopt such very devastating economic policy.

In spite of the fear of Atiku, many political analysts said that the on-going political conversations and calculations are pointing to fact the Adamawa born politician will be part of the strong political choices Nigerians would have to make in 2019.

Like the governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-rufai noted recently—in his spiteful statement, the former Vice-President has long started his presidential campaign, ahead of the 2019.

To be sure, in the last few months, Atiku has been a special guest of many prominent politicians, traditional rulers, religious and influential groups across the nation, in what an insider described as ‘’strategic political moves’’ to reactivate his political structures across the country.

The insiders told THISDAY that already, some very powerful political forces and groups, including many loyalists of Senate President Bukola Saraki; former Head of States General Ibrahim Babangida; Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, and groups of both former and serving governors are in different secret political conversations with Atiku, who is reputed to have sauntered into the fourth republic with huge measured quantity of democratic credentials.

THISDAY gathered that the calculation is based on the conspicuous signs that the ailing President Buhari will not re-contest and the need for the core north to present a formidable candidate who will be acceptable to the six geo-political zones, taking into consideration the burning ethno-religious and political question in the country.

For many of his followers, Atiku has established himself as a democrat immediately he left the public service and became a political devotee of late Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, an acclaimed great political tactician that flounced the country like a hurricane.

His political history is legendary: a politician, businessman and philanthropist, he was born on November 25, 1946, and in the beginning of his national political career, served as the second elected Vice-President from 1999 to 2007—-under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), with President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Atiku worked in the Nigeria Customs Service for 24 years, rising to become the Deputy-Comptroller-General. He retired in 1989 and took up full-time business and politics. He ran for the office of Governor in the Gongola State (now Adamawa and Taraba States) in 1991; and for the presidency in 1993, coming third after MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe in the disbanded Social Democratic Party (SDP) primaries.

In 1998 he contested and won the Governor of Adamawa State. And while still governor-elect he was picked by the PDP Presidential candidate Olusegun Obasanjo as his running mate. They went into the election and won in 1999.

As documented by historian, Atiku’s second term as Vice-President was characterised by a squally relationship with Obasanjo. His attempt to succeed Obasanjo did not receive the latter’s support, and it took the judgement of the Supreme Court to allow him to contest in 2007—-after he was initially disqualified by the Independent National Electoral Commission over an alleged financial misconduct by a ‘’discredited’’ investigating panel set up by Obasanjo.

The apex court later ordered the electoral commission to restore Atiku’s name onto the presidential ballot and he ran on the platform of the Action Congress, having quit the PDP on account of his issues with Obasanjo. Expectedly, he lost the election, coming third after late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Muhammadu Buhari of the then All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

As a ‘’consummated’’ businessman, Atiku is a co-founder of Intels—-an oil servicing business with wide-ranging operations across the country and outside the country. He is also the founder of Adama Beverages Limited, and the American University of Nigeria (AUN), both in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

Born to an itinerant Fulani trader and farmer Garba Abubakar, the former Vice-President was said to have started out in the real estate business during his early days as a Customs Officer. History has it that in 1974 he applied for and received a N31,000 loan to build his first house in Yola, which he put up for rent. From proceeds of the rent he was reportedly to have purchased another plot, and built a second house. He was said to have continued that way, building a considerable range of property in Yola.

Apparently very go-getting in investment, he was said to have later moved into agriculture, acquiring 2,500 hectares of land near Yola to start a maize and cotton farm. The business fell on hard times and closed in 1986. “My first foray into agriculture, in the 1980s, ended in failure,” he was quoted as saying.

Later venturing into trading, buying and selling truckloads of rice, flour and sugar, Atiku’s most important business move was to have come while he was a Customs Officer at the Apapa Ports. One Gabrielle Volpi, an Italian businessman in Nigeria, was said to have invited him to set up Nigeria Container Services (NICOTES), a logistics company operating within the Ports. Those who know him very well said that NICOTES provide immense wealth to Atiku.

Atiku’s first expedition into politics was in the early 1980s, when he worked behind-the-scenes on the governorship campaign of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who at that time was managing director of the Nigeria Ports Authority. He canvassed for votes on behalf of Tukur, and also donated to the campaign. Towards the end of his Customs career, he met late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, who had been second-in-command of the military government that ruled Nigeria between 1976 and 1979. Atiku was drawn by Yar’Adua into the political meetings that were now happening regularly in Yar’Adua’s Lagos home.

In 1989 Atiku was elected a National Vice-Chairman of the Peoples Front of Nigeria, the political association led by Yar’Adua, to participate in the transition programme initiated by Babangida.

Atiku won a seat to represent his constituency at the 1989 Constituent Assembly, set up to decide a new constitution for Nigeria. The People’s Front was eventually denied registration by the government (none of the groups that applied was registered), and found a place within the Social Democratic Party, one of the two parties decreed into existence by the regime.

Many of his followers have said time without numbers that a ‘’tested hand’’ like Atiku is surely needed to coordinate the proper integration of the youths into the economic mainstream.

‘’He is the highest individual employer of labour in Nigeria and a believer in excellence. The truth that cannot be dismissed is that among those jostling to convince Nigerians for their votes in 2019, only the Turaki has experience in job creation. This is the choice Nigerian must make in 2019 without sentiment and pandering to the propaganda of surrogates of past failures’’, one of his followers said.

‘’The fragility of our mutual existence as a country cannot be over exaggerated. As a matter of fact, the erosion of our cultural, religious and social commonalities is an ever constant feature of the past two decades.

‘’There is need to undertake enormous reintegration of all divergent groups into a united country. Nobody can do it better than Atiku. He is a proven man of immense conviction and political muscles to navigate us to the destination of unity.’’

The argument is that Buhari came at a time he was needed to abridge the nation’s drift towards excessive insecurity and anarchy, and that Atiku is the man to build the country for the contentment and richness of all citizens of Nigeria.

But for sure, Atiku has Buhari’s gang and treacherous Obasanjo to battle with.

FamilyWives Not Cooks Saga : See What The Smart Women Think (screenshots) by ochejoseph(op): 1:45pm On Mar 09, 2017
I was going through a thread by Barcanista this morning on the wife not cook saga and decided to browse through Twitter and I realised that most Nigerian women are smarter than that nonsense.

With the exception of few of them who don't know their left from the right and those whose only occupation is to sell what's between their legs most Nigerian women are smart and won't let those "omega" girls ruin their homes.
A woman is not just a wife she is a mother and even in the animal world the absence of females is the pasdport to starvation, yes they are that important .

To the men we must learn to appreciate these women

They change their names to ours, leave their family to help us start our own, get pregnant for us and disfigure their bodies and some times loose their lives in the process of bring forth our offspring's

I join other men around to Globe to appreciate the monarch of heaven for the good women who still enjoy cooking for their families.

May history be kind to us today and always

Foreign AffairsJammeh Tenure Extension : What I Found Inside The Gambian Constitution by ochejoseph(op):
Jammeh Tenure Extension : What I found in the Gambian constitution

A last minute "Malangaring" or should I call it Joker has given a constitutional lifeline to the embattled President of Gambia , Yayah Jammeh , the self acclaimed trado medical healer recently lost his countries presidential elections to a former real estate agent in the west African state .

Few days ago the Gambian ruler declared a state of Emergency which was approved by the countries National Assembly, and few hour ago the BBC reported that the Gambia's National Assembly has extended the tenure of the President by 90 days.

Curiously I went in search of the Gambian constitution to unearth where the Parliament derived its powers to extended the tenure of a President.

After about 30 minutes of going through what looked like a duplicate if the Nigerian constitution I realised that Buhari who himself have never conceded an election to his opponent no matter how transparent the elections were, Senegal who have been showing off its obsolete Military hardware in display of Force to its tiny neighbor and the ECOWAS have all blindly fallen into a legal trap set by Jammeh.

They missed an opportunity to despatch judges to the Gambian supreme court to speedily adjudicate on the election matter as required by section 49 of the Gambian constitution which would have cleared any obstacle to the inauguration of President -elect Adama Barraw .

Section 34 subsections 1- 5 provides that the President can declare a state of emergency and such declaration will subsist for 90 days provided it was approved two third by the National Assembly of the Gambia .

The joker in declaring the state of emergency at this time is in section 99 subsection 2 of the Gambian constitution which deals with the circumstances under which the tenure of the National Assembly can be extended.

It States that ; Any time the Gambia is at War or a state of emergency is declared , the National Assembly supported by a vote of not less than 2 /3 of its members can extend the life of the Assembly by 3 months at a time.
But not more than a total of 1 year under this subsection.

This subsection appeared innocuous to the Gambian President elect until I read section 63 subsection 6 which deals with the office of the President and realised ECOWAS needs to recheck their strategy if the Gambian stalemate will end without Bloodshed and a violation of the Gambian constitution.

Section 63(6) states that

When the tenure of the National Assembly is extended for any period in accordance with section 99(2) the tenure of office of the President shall be extended for the same period.

What this simply means is that except the ECOWAS quickly provides judges for the Gambian supreme court to quickly adjudicate on Jammeh's petition and quickly dispose or uphold it he may be in office for another one year without violating any provision of his countries constitution.

Africa and the impoverished people of west Africa do not deserve another war, Nigerian soldiers have already seen enough in the last 8 years, we already have too many military widows I don't think we should make more widows in Gambia.

Jammeh and his gang in the Gambia also need to understand that leadership is not by force, democratic irresponsibility has its consequences they must be willing to put the interest of their own people above their ego and carnal desires, for decades Africa have been defined by despots and the wars they foolishly invite , we don't need a war at a time our economy is in coma, every bomb exploded can build a school somewhere in Africa , A Russian made AK47 can fully stock a local school library with all the book it needs , the cost of sending military ships and maintaining them can be of great help to our dilapidated infrastructure.

For Ages we have traded our meagre earnings for weapons from the west which we have consistently used to kill ourselves and destroy the continent this must stop.

May God in his infinite Grace & Mercy grant our leaders the wisdom to avoid Bloodshed in Gambia

PoliticsRecession: Buhari Is Incompetent - Sule Lamido by ochejoseph(op): 2:42pm On Sep 27, 2016
A former governor of Jigawa State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) henchman, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has reproached President Muhammadu Buhari for blaming the excruciating hardship suffered by Nigerians on recession.

He told Daily Trust at the weekend that there were basic needs of living, which must be provided for the citizens, whatever the harshness of the sweeping recession sequel to the global oil-price crash, maintaining that it was too escapist on the part of the president to lean on recession and lament his inability to source for funds to provide such needs.

“President Buhari is simply incompetent on the provision of the welfare of the citizens because he was never ready for the job, and so, he lacks the capacity to source for the wherewithal to do it well to the satisfaction of Nigerians,” Lamido said.
According to him, “If he (Buhari) cannot ensure the provision of basic needs of Nigerians, tell him to hand over to me and see how I will source for the wherewithal to do it.”

The opposition party chieftain drew an analogy: “Imagine a husband who, before marrying his wife, promised her that he would provide all her legal and legitimate needs according to the obligations of matrimony, only to confront the wife shortly after the wedding and tell her that he didn’t know that he would have to provide her ‘this’, and he has now realized that he cannot, and she should please bear with him; and the wife, because of the love she has for him, overlooks that limitation.

“The following day, he confronts her again, explaining his inability to provide another basic need, pleading with her to overlook it, and she does so; again he comes to her another day to say he didn’t know that he also has to provide so and so to her, and now he has realized he cannot; it should dawn on the wife that he simply cannot discharge the obligations of matrimony to her, and it is legal and legitimate for her to seek divorce,” he said.

Following revelations that Buhari has been lifting content from many and ascribing it to himself more Nigerians are digging up what appears to other acts of plagiarism by the country's president.

It appears PMB’s famous “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" quote was actually copied from Charles de Gaulle.
