Infact!!!! I can personally count off the top 10 Mega wealthy Nigerians who would pay that campaign bill for Jonathan.

Campaign funding is not from the Government coffers but from Campaign contributors, Contractors and co. Remember how the President raised over 100 Million naira to pick a presidential ticket of 22 million?! grin

I decided to wait this long before l comment on this post and was surprised with the sheer ignorance of some ppl couple with inability to just think outside the box. When many heard that Mr Kanu travelled to Austria via power bike what their minds can't fanthom is how he managed to ride through the Meditteranean or fly his bike over the Gilbatrar among many other trans-boarder obstacles only little mind can see. They don't even bother to go through some links provided by some sound mind commentators where the man in details explained how he execute the trip;na wah o na so we lazy reach?Even Mr Kanu's adventures did not come as a news to some of us who had been following it for some time now-My God where is Shagatti when you need him. Other Nigerians in the past have performed such feats as early as 60s. Late Olabisi Ajala readily comes to mind who tour the world on Scooter not even a power bike. He was a journalist and a well documented details of his adventures was given in his book 'An African Abroad' Yoruba ppl always make allusion to his feat by reffering to anybody who loves travelling as 'Ajala'.There is also an Hausa man again who travelled the world on motorcycle Abudulahi-can't remember his other name. This is to show that Nigerians love adventures we just have to accord some respect to those ppl that put their name in a small place in d record book rather than trying to rubbish the efforts they put into such dangerous expenditions.
thanks alot

your man, do you mean ur husband or ur man friend? If he's ur husband, are you both in good terms? Cus from ur write up, it indicates that there's no intimacy between both of you. But if he's ur man friend I mean ur lover, u should not expect that much from him.

why would you say nothing has change from the time of grandparents and our generation? Men earn more back then and most women were not allow to attend school because their parents think the role of a woman is only in the kitchen. Only few women work and most were full time house wife. Things are different now because more women attend school and the salary difference between men and women is not much. There are many women today who earn more than men. Its not a crime for a woman to contribute the bulk of the home finances if she earn more than her husband. My uncle wife is a professor and she earn more than my uncle who is a business man. She help support him financially in his business and their marriage has been okay. Marriage now invovle both couple pulling their resources to help with the finances. Only stingy wives don't help their husbands with the bills if she earn good salary. Its not an African tradition for a wife to be stingy and you better stop that mentality. Things are different now and we are not in 1940s.
you said your uncles wife supports him, not that ur uncle authoritatively ordered his wife to be summit her salary every month. Do u know what it means to be left with no cash?

as in, I don't understand how people reason. I can't imagine after working for a whole month, then I will count my hard earned salary (all oo) and hand over to my hubby. Nothing even half, I mean all. Then what will I be left with? Hmmm, though I don't know what brought such decision, pls op tell us what made the husband to give her such condition?

Guys, there's this latest trend which I find even more annoying than African Magic, and which is a very big turn off for me too....These Philipino and Korean movies. They call it 'My girl' or something like that. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed?
u men are becoming so terrifying. just three days ago a lady wrote on women becoming assets rather than liabilities and all the guys on this forum supported her that a woman needs to be independent. Today you guys are dread of independent women. Sincerely is confusing, I don't know the right attitude to put on again oooh. cry but whichever I so much appreciate when a woman is independent

His/her points had no depth, no meaningful intellectual analysis, nothing in short. Just shallow aspersions.

@zboyd: Men like your hubby are just a delight. I am not even the type that wants to depend on a man but I can appreciate guys that are capable of taking care of themselves and don't need a woman's help.
So many lazy and pussified slobs these days. You want to lead me and at the same time you want me to take care of you and your house with my money.

Never knew id live this long to read such words from a female....... cool

All along, had tot you guys were structured for collecting , fashioned for begging and accursed with trade by bata..... angry

Had tot u enjoy sitting at home doing Nada and have him work his a33 out while u go on shopping spree with money u know not whence it came. The next moment, they wano tie d guy down with court wedding tins, so as to have legit right over some vast wealth shld he get fed up n wano roll!

Had tot beeping his phone was ur thingy (never calling, stingy)
Had tot the best u cud ever get for a guy was a pair of second hand briefs for his bday(ONLY!)! embarassed

Had tot d only thing u guys got to offer was some punana ( yet they go complaining when he cheats, calling royal guys dogs). Yea sure, he might be so willing to spend on u d first few outings but after hitting it, if that is all u got, he's mos def gon bounce - the next meal awaits

No man is a fool. And we all get worked up when y'all go begging for stuffs when y'all can pull stuffs!

If u must fight for gender equality, then first fight off ur laziness , stinginess n herbalist attitudes( always collecting)

NT: this is by no means saying there ain't this very exceptional group out there(very rare breeds) that supports their men tru good advice n all otherwise
very easy to say, most times in Nigeria of today the hard working ladies are the ones looking drawn and haggard as a result of over working especially here in Lagos. Waken up early and sleeping late with the stress of hold up and others. have you asked why we have lots of barren women among us today? One is as a result of hormonal disorder, and one of the things that causes that is stress. Women are not meant to over work themselves, women are supposed to be helpers, encouragers and supporters to men. Even some men talking are the ones patronizing the lazy ladies, flexing and getting admirers here and there. Though i love when a woman is industrious because is going be an added advantage to her if God now blesses her with a successful man. Very good for a woman to be supportive and productive but some guys as well take advantage of that and start lazing about, and before you know it the woman takes over your position and then rides you. This is a two way thing, some guys don't like their wife working and over stressed, while some do. Oto

[quote author=eleojo23]Good idea. Speaking generally, we as a country should develop the habit of rewarding those who do good deeds for the country so that others can be encouraged to do the same.

The reason why people hesitate to go the extra mile for the country is because we've not learnt to appreciate ourselves.

We often hear people say
'I no fit die for this country'
Why? Because those who made sacrifices in the past seem to have done so in vain. We even mock their sacrifice sometimes and call it foolishness because it went unappreciated.
A good deed deserves a befitting commendation.[/you have spoken well ]
