PoliticsRe: Presidential Pardon "Laughable And Tribalistic"- CPC by ochukoccna: 5:45pm On Mar 13, 2013
Goddex: Something told me the hypocrites ACN/CPC moderators were going to move this thread to front page even with no clear source.

Five presidential pardon threads are making front page in less than 30hrs.
Mumu
Diya,Yaradua,OBJ etal were roped into a concocted coup plot whilst Alams is a convicted felon who stole state funds but now recieves pardon aka amnesty courtesy of Ebele's conclave which let off white smoke through Aso Rock's chimney
Ask Alams why he ran to Nigeria from the UK disguised as a woman?
To prove it beyond doubt, let him go and test his newly acquired 'pardon' in UK where he's still a wanted felon

As AIRTEL is slow and the network so erratic nowadays, does anyone know whether the GLO modems, routers and mini routers plans work on Andriods as I use my phone as a modem a lot?
I don't want another subscribe to a BB plan but use in an Andriod part 2 drama which GLO put so many of us through last month
Thanks

PoliticsRe: Alamieyeseigha's Pardon: Jonathan Owes Nobody Apology - Okupe by ochukoccna:
Goddex: Tinubu is by far a much bigger thief than Alams but is
moving freely and even calling the shots in South West politics.

Alams wealth is not up to 5 percent of Tinubu's. He may have sinned,
but is sorry for his sins and is forgiven, simple.
Senile Justification of 'shebi there that are bigger crooks are walking free'
The same thing Okupe was doing this morning on Channels TV
Is it the SW people that will go and arrest Tinubu?
Why couldn't the FG nail him and every polticrook they charge to court through EFCC?
Alams was convicted by a law court for embezzlement yet he's now a 'free' man
Only in Nigeria
As Pastor Tunde Bakare [the one true God bless you sir] said before ebele was sworn in;

PoliticsRe: Alamieyeseigha's Pardon: Jonathan Owes Nobody Apology - Okupe by ochukoccna: 11:31am On Mar 13, 2013
Joey82: “That is an action that has been taken by the National Council of States and I have no apology for that.” Mr. Jonathan said. “We must begin to respect and honour our institutions. I don’t need to defend the action that has been taken.”

When reminded that the action had created the impression that the government was not serious about the war against corruption, Mr. Jonathan said, “It is not all decisions parents take that are palatable for their kids. But with time they will realize that their parents are right.”

He said pardoning Mr. Alamieyeseigha was in order as the former Bayelsa governor had suffered enough.

“A man was deposed. He was hounded, tried and jail. What is wrong with giving pardon to a remorseful sinner?

“How come granting pardon to him has become an aberration? Is it because he is from Bayelsa? Is it from he is from South-South? Is it because he is connected to Mr. President?”

Something for which you need to hide your head in shame for is now a given undecided undecided

ITbomb: People need to understand that it is not the FG as per Executive arm of government that single handedly gave the pardon .
.
The pardon was made by the Council of State which include Buhari, it is an elders council not ministers' forum that GEJ can influence.
.
Anybody mentioning clueless here should know that that include Buhari , Gowon , IBB , Abubakar etc
Buhari , OBJ, IBB , Abubakar were not there

Billyonaire: State Pardon, just like Political Amnesty are political panacea. I understand that many people will be focusing on Alameseigha more than other beneficiaries, so I will like to ask. Was Alams the most corrupt Governor then ? Why was his case different ? I think his arrest and conviction was politically motivated by OBJ to send a message to his opponents, OBJ was also doing same to Mike Adenuga, (although Mike ran away to UK, to avoid arrest), OBJ was arresting these guys to send a message to IBB, Atiku etc. Alams from that experience was inspired to derive a political philosophy which he carefully opines: "There are only two entities you can not fight, God and Government" and I agree. This state pardon, just like the amnesty programme, is a worthy step.

nagoma: So if a Senator has not achieved , it would be okay for Jona not to have capacity?
You can tolerate a clueless senator but not a clueless senate
However, having a clueless president, is a time bomb of destruction

Gbawe.:
The Senator is telling the truth but Nigerian politics is currently too monetised and too unprincipled for an impeachment of a President to pass easily. Fact is that GEJ, with so many errors and failures to his name, would have been impeached in all serious nations on Earth.
Fact is Ebele would NEVER BE ELECTED INTO SUCH A SENSITIVE OFFICE in any serious nation. angry angry angry

LASG pointed this out some time back that FERMA and the Ministry of Transport are playing politics with this bridge
Even channels TV did a report that the repairs done where mainly cosmetic
Nigeria and her decrepit infrastructure undecided undecided undecided
Recall that the FG through the minister over ruled the LASG when they wanted to shut down the bridge for repairs last year
The simple solution is for the FG to outsource the bridge's management to the LASG barring which you call upon whatever you believe in before& during the time you pass through the bridge

Alams was convicted for stealing state funds while the rest where convicted for planning a phantom coup, let's not forget that
I've known Ebele was clueless and corrupt, but this move is befuddling

I hope Ibori will be apologised to ,get a state pardon and his loot returned when he finishes his time in gaol

Dis Guy: Only students who have attended that specific university/ resided in that Hall/town will be able to answer specific questions about their facilities, generally the prices are around the same really, +/- £350
Thanks Dis Guy for your insight
Its best one gets as many answers as possible to his questions because by the time Sept 2013 intendees swarm Nairaland, it will be harder getting swift replies
And the more insights one can get, the better it helps to crystallize one's knowledge regarding eventual decisions

I can afford even as high as 5,000 quid a year but for me, it about how much you can save while still getting quality seeing after graduation , one will still need money
TOMES OF IT!
And your Nigerian folks are looking toward you to 'deliver' financially grin grin grin
No need to be a money miss road especially in the UK clamping down on immigration
Going by your input, 350 quid a month points to 4200 quid a year, ain't that steep for decent budget housing?
Though I believe price bands will have more of a regional rather than a national connotation e.g. London area housing will be much more expensive than the North East housing
As I said earlier, thanks

@ thread especially to those who've lived /are living in UK, how much is too much for accommodation?

Attached are a North East Uni's accommodation offers [in 3 different halls]
Going by my online research , I've discovered one [to which I'm currently leaning] which is privately owned costing about £3,000.00 for a 50 week contract (£3,250.00 for en suite) which has the facilities listed in the last image...is it commensurate to the facilities been offered?
Non the less, research continues in case something better and more affordable can pop up even before I hit Heathrow

I've always seen UK bound students on NL sometimes been advised NOT to take up university provided accommodation
Why is this so seeing ,next to your studies, decent accommodation is about the most important choice to make

Is it that they are more expensive and its cheaper to mash out your own accommodation?
More stifling, seeing the student signs 'unbreakable' 40/50 week contracts and lives under university supervision?
I would think there are more secure and include all bills unlike most privately rented ones but because some of us are already studying /graduated from UK schools, let us share from your insights

Thanks

RomanceRe: Are Dating Websites A Waste Of Time? by ochukoccna: 6:56pm On Mar 09, 2013
In Nigeria it might be, outside Nigeria especially the West, the answer is NO

RuuDie: I think people just generally miss the point. . .there is no such thing as "online dating" or "dating online". The purpose of this sites is to create a platform through which people can meet. The real or actual dating is in the physical, in the real world, outside cyberspace not in it!

FunmyKemmy: @ ochukoccna

Thanks for your advice. My sister is interested in a 3g dual sim phone that is N20,000 or below it. I think she prefers anyone capable of opening attachment(s)
Thanks again.
I saw 2 LG models (with screens larger than Samsung's budget phones) under 20k at SLOT in Lagos but bought a Galaxy pocket DUOS seeing I already own an LG high end model
Like I said, let your sister put the 20 Gs in her pocket and hit a phone dealer's shop and make her choice from a reputable brand
If she can burrow your phone to check out the specs of what she's offered online before she makrs the purchase, that's even better
PLEASE DON'T BUY TECNO
Its cheaper but with time you'd be glad you didn't
They also lack a great resale value
The Chinese are trying but reputable Chinese brands like ZTE,Huawei budget phones are yet to flood Nigeria's market
