PAGAN9JA:
I believe the hatred against homosexuals came with christianity and islam. Africans were not so concerned about it before. Us Traditional Religionists are generally tolerant of everyone. Also notice the Traditional Ruler's amiable behaviour towards the Area Scatter. He even stood up to applaud his performance. There is a big difference in attitudes today. Also homosexuality was not as rife as before because nowadays it is being marketed. Homosexuals today have also become very outrightly vulgar unlike before. There are faults on both sides.

I am a practitioner of Hausa Traditional Religion (Boori) myself and many of the spirits worshipped and those people possesed by it during religious rituals are known homosexuals (Yan Daudu). You will find large number of women and homosexuals and all the discriminated sections of society in these rituals as it gives them relief from the fanatical world outside.

There is a propaganda being spread by christians and muslims to say that African culture abhorrs homosexuals.
Guy stop confusing the whole thing. He was a "male Cross dresser" and not gay! Igbo traditional institution (which I represent) regard such act (gay) as highly abominable even till date!

Its ok to dress feminine for entertainment sake back in the days, just like the man in the video, but that does not mean in any way that they ever embraced sodomy! Never! It has been, and will continue to be an abomination to the Igbo traditional institution. ALU!

Politics › Re: 9 Ways To Save Your Electricity Consumption by NERC by od501: 12:42pm On Sep 29, 2020
chieyine:
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission have put together 9 ways to save your electricity consumption. This is in light with the recent increase in electricity billing. Can you share some of the ways you save electricity consumption in your residence or place of business?

1. Turn off lights and electrical appliances when not in use: don't leave your electronics or lightbulbs on all day long.

2. Switch to energy-efficient light bulbs:
Traditional light bulbs waste 95% of the energy they use giving off heat, with only 5% going toward the light. Switch them out or use them sparingly.
Leaving them on for long periods is highly wasteful. Halogen incandescent bulbs, compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), and light-emitting diode bulbs (LEDs) use anywhere from 25-80 percent less electricity and last 3 to 25 times longer than traditional bulbs.

3. Reduce the use of water heaters:
Water heating is a major contributor to your total energy consumption. Other than purchasing an energy-efficient water heater, there are two methods of reducing your water heating expenses, you can simply use less hot water or turn down the thermostat on your water heater.

4. Purchase energy-efficient appliances:
Appliances account for a large amount of enemy consumed in households, offices, and industries. With this in mind, it is important to be intentional about purchases made to the ensure that energy-efficient appliances are installed.

5. Set refrigerator temperature to the manufacturers recommendation:
This is important to avoid excessive cooling and wasting energy

6. Unplug battery chargers when not in use:
Many devices including battery chargers draw power continuously even when not in use.

7. Plug home electronics into power strips:
Use power strips such as adaptors and extension boards to reduce energy consumption Turn the power strips off when equipment is not in use. You'll stop these devices from using energy when idle with one convenient switch.

8. Bring in sunlight:
During daylight hours, switch off artificial lights and use windows and skylights to brighten your home.

9. Service your air conditioner:
Easy maintenance, such as routinely replacing or cleaning air filters can lower your cooling systems energy consumption.

Your signature says, "Maturity is ur ability not to lie, but don't say the whole truth"

Maybe you should apply what you have on your signature when you get to the meeting next month. Be very mature, don't lie to them but also don't say the whole truth about the whereabouts of the money.

Money you give to your wife be like mutual funds, if you try to withdraw it suddenly it won't come out complete.
At least in mutual fund, your initial investment is safe...lol

How much do you pay as tax in Nigeria. In many European countries Vat rakes in a huge chunk of revenue used for services, but here we were paying just 5% and now after much public resistance it's been increased slightly to 7.5%. Go and google what Europeans pay as Vat on goods/ services and you will just shut up. Hungary - 27%; Norway - 25%; UK- 20%. And this is just from vat.
Baba forget that thing. Countries like Qater, Kuwait, and Finland that made some of the basic things including education free, how much dies their citizens pay in tax? The point is, if your country is blessed, let it also reflect in the lives of the citizens. Suffer head no be swag oo!
