This reminds me of my teenage years, my father would (not always though) flog me with anything that is within his reach whenever he feels am being disobedient. I would always think that he doesn't love me, 'coz I will present myself for punishment while my younger sister will escape, yet he will even punish me for my sister's offence too.
He will threaten me that he will kill me instead of me to be useless to him.... But am just sad that he didn't live to see the result of his discipline.
I found out that all the corrections was for me to be focused in life, if he hadn't done that, my peers that I grew up with were ready to teach me nonesense (i was ready to learn) when mama was not there too.
