This the career of our Finance Minister
But before then, she graduated from ABU, did her second degree in a State University in South West and that’s all.
Didn’t see her ICAN or ANA membership history.
This country is in the hands of mediocres.

Zainab Shamsuna is the current Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning[8] of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Zainab Shamsuna was the immediate past executive secretary and national coordinator of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). She was also a member of the last two NEITI boards, having worked in the NEITI and global EITI.

An accountant by profession with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from ABU Zaria and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Ahmed, in her biography, says she has “extensive knowledge and diverse experience in public sector reform and management.”

Upon graduation, Ahmed was employed in 1982 as an Accountant II in the Main Accounts of Ministry of Finance in Kaduna State and was promoted to Accountant I in March 1984, but resigned in 1985 to join NITEL. Earlier, she had done her National Youth Service in Kaduna State in 1981/1982 where she was posted for primary assignment to Messrs. Egunjobi Suleiman & Co. Chartered Accountants, and served as an Audit Trainee.

Ahmed has served the Nigerian public in various high ranking positions, including as managing director of the Kaduna State of Nigeria’s investment company, and also the Chief Finance Officer of the Nigeria mobile telecommunications company. [9] Zainab was reappointed and sworn in as the Minister of Finance on the 21st of August 2019 by the President[10]

This show APC is jittery. I mean, how can you preempt the governor’s next move and also preempt the outcome? You said this wasn’t popular, that you will beat him in direct primary but all of a sudden, you developed cold feet and disqualified him. APC is scared.
If he joins PDP, it’s case close for APC.

1. Keep the street ever busy till Election Day
2. Use all available media who are already showing sympathy to drive the following
a. Tinubu has come to use our money for his campaign in 2023
b. Adams Oshiomole demand N50 billion and I refused
c. APC said I should demolish Benin main market and build their new secretariat there and I refused
If he gets the street, on Election Day APC polling unit agents may not wear their uniforms.

The money states like Anambra spend in erosion control is so much. Imagine if there was no such natural disaster like a place like Osun state, the money can achieve something meaningful.
Thank you Mr Governor

I rather you talk about Osibanjo, Fayemi, Adesina, Fashola than Tinubu. We want paradigm shift not overlords. We want reformers not career politicians. What Tinubu bringing to the table if not ‘seasoned politician and wealth’. Please, I don’t want to about him.

They sure need Tinubu for clout. Love him or hate him, Tinubu is an enigma. Any southerner, including Peter Obi that wants to formidable in politics must involve Tinubu.
In fact, any southerner he backs in 2023 wins the president and it must not be APC. He could back PDP, so far his interest is protected.
On Buhari, he has so much to clean, but it’s the same Tinubu that cleaned him up.
So Tinubu can’t clean himself, he cleans others.
This is the fact

In all these pictures, you notice how the children are at peace staying with him.
This was the kind of peace we enjoyed while he led Anambra state.
This is the kind of peace Nigeria will experience if given a chance.
Do you know where he lives? GRA Onitsha.
If he was a bad leader, he won’t dare live in Onitsha because they must find occasions to remind him of his atrocities.
But because he a Phenomenon, he soars.

Peter Obi, I have noticed is the only politician the have not been successfully tarnished in Nigeria. Despite his shortcomings, he is the leader in Nigeria with consensus approval.
Raised his issue online, you will see defenders from all tribes and races in Nigeria. One thing I found out from him is consistency. He preached reduction in cost of governance before he became governor, he practiced while on the seat. He is still preaching it out of office. He is practicing it to.
This is the man we need in Nigeria

No one is perfect, but being a strong man is nothing when you can’t manage your family. We all saw how OBJ’s first son insulted him, even his wife, Moji Adekunle Obasanjo.
Now we are seeing how Aisha Buhari is running amok in Aso Rock. This is pathetic.

I fear as foolish soul like you do poilical analysis on NL. If Osho will lose let him lose to befitting adversary like the Izeyamu guy not a toddler who does not know his left from right like Obaseki.

Which would’ve been more humiliating: defeating him at the primaries or disqualifying him? You don’t know those that work for the governor. If you think Obaseki takes these steps, then you’re naive. There’re strategists at his disposal. If you think he doesn’t have upper hand, why didn’t they wait, so PDP will finish their own process? Why didn’t they defeat him through primary?
Finally, you call everyone fool: how do you come about that?

@bolded, yes, I believe that is the game plan. The blinding hatred so intense he's willing to use almost anyone to get rid of Obaseki.

Just hope it doesn't come back to haunt him.

If a lightweight like Obaseki could almost cost Oshio his chairmanship seat, it would be foolish of him to believe that a far more experienced Ize-Iyamu who's been in govt since 1999 will be a better option.

Well the next three months will be quite interesting.
Yea. Very interesting days ahead. If he joins PDP, it good for him since the party is coming to the table with 2 senators, 4 out of 5 HoR and also won the presidential election in 2019. Delta, the sister state is PDP and some other advantages.
But you know our president is not interested in these things, that’s why it’s possible for INEC to call results that never reflect the people vote.

Like I asked in previous thread, why does Oshiomole hate Obaseki so much? Is it just 'insubordination?'

And this one he's pushing Ize-Iyamu, a far more experienced politician, does he (Oshio) think he can lord over him?
I’ve asked this question countless times. Ize-Iyamu is not a level headed guy, he is experienced too. I think Oshiomole is desperate because he thinks no other politician can have that leverage of popularity like Iyamu.
Even top APC guys are not comfortable with that decision. Or maybe he wants to use him to garner popularity for another guy.

Politics / APC Dilemma In Edo State. by ODI444(m): 7:11am On Jun 13, 2020
The reason direct primary was opted for in Edo state is to oust Gov Obaseki. The process was marred with irregularities. Example, the state chapter will write to NWC on the mode of primary they want. The NWC will then write INEC. If the two(State chapter and NWC) didn’t agree, the NEC will come in. In Edo, these processes were breached, resulting in NWC being alone in the whole matter. Gov Obaseki started enjoying sympathy from NEC, some members of NWC and some party faithfuls.
But why did the screening committee disqualified Obaseki? Is he no more unpopular, that direct primary will oust him?
The answers to these questions will give us clear view of who is in pole position to win Edo gubernatorial election. And without mincing words; Gov Obaseki is in pole position to win.
The sign are clear that Adams’ camp has been divided because Ize Iyamu is not well accepted across board. You will remember that he was adopted as the sole aspirant by Oshiomole’s camp, but in a twist of events, those that stepped down for him rushed to pick forms. So don’t even be surprised if Ize Iyamu fails to get the ticket. If APC had gone ahead to use direct primary, two things would’ve happened.
1. Either Obaseki wins
2. He loses then goes to court to void the process.
In fact, number 2 is the main reason why he was disqualified. Already, there is a case in court again the direct primary and the Edo state law which was passed last week, gives life to the case. I don’t want to quote constitution but just know that there was no way APC would have done that direct primary without breaking the state law which the court will expressly address.
So that was why they have disqualify him to give way for INDIRECT PRIMARY. Yes you heard here first. Because Obaseki will win indirect primary if he was to contest. Can you see how Obaseki boxed Oshiomole to corner? Don’t underrate the power of an incumbent governor.
What will Obaseki do?
Since APC has shown him the ground they will use to drag him to court, and O’level is allowed in elections like this, to be on the safer side, he should submit his O’level certificate. In fact, I heard a PDP Senator saying that they will accept Obaseki’s SSC. What they will do is to campaign on UI endorsed certificates to win intellectuals over, but submit O’level to forestall litigation.
The odds favor him. He is running on sentiment and the maxim, ‘enemy of my enemy is my friend’ will play out. All those APC bigwigs who are fighting to survive may use this election to launch a comeback. People like Former Chairman Oyegun, Amaechi, Akeredolu, el Rufai, former Zamfara governor etc.
Also geographically, Igbinedion, Obaseki and Ize Iyamu are from Benin axis. Oshiomole is from Esan axis. It’s only Osunbor who didn’t last up to 2 years that comes from South. If Obaseki promises them a seat after 4 years, it will be enticing. That another advantage.
Oshiomole knows that if he fails in Edo, the noose will tight. So he will fight to finish.
He only depends on INEC and Tinubu’s contacts. The nearest states to Edo are Ondo, Delta and Kogi. All these states are not friendly with Oshiomole. So he is fighting for survival too.
All in all, I wish Edo people well. But they should know that Obaseki Win will end the fight once and for all; but APC Win will elongate the fight because the interest of the new governor and Oshiomole must clash in future.

I disagree Mr Oyegun

Edo is APC state.

The problem was that Obaseki went late to see the godfather of yoruba politics (Tinubu) knowing fully well his state is a Yoruba state and the people has APC at heart.

To me the visit should have been more earlier. I think his actions got Tinubu angry. A stitch in time saves nine
PDP has 2 senators, 4 out of 5 HoR. They won presidential election there.
So how do you mean?

Obaseki personally shot him self in the leg. You don’t fight your helper when he still holds upper echelon than you in the party, ask ambode, Okorocha and yari
He actually dealt with APC psychologically. If he didn’t hold down APC, they would’ve removed him through primary which would have been humiliating and late for Obaseki to jump ship. If APC goes ahead with direct primary, court will void it because it’s a gazette and it’s backed by law. So the coast is clear for them to use indirect primary. If Obaseki joins PDP, he can win.
Politics / Re: APC Panel Disqualifies Obaseki From APC Primary Election In Edo State by ODI444(m): 5:40pm On Jun 12, 2020
He has said he won’t appeal. All is set for him to join PDP. Now, PDP has 2 Senators and 4 out of 5 Reps in the state. Meaning PDP is strong. So if he can whip up sentiment like Benue gov, he can pull through. APC trust the instrument of government but by whiskers, they won Osun and Kogi. So it’s not gonna be easy. Remember APC has no choice because if they had gone ahead with direct primary, court will nullify it. So the best now is to go with indirect primary.

It’s the end of the road for Obaseki. The best he can do now is to decamp to PDP and hijack the party’s ticket if possible or remain in APC and try to mess things up for the party from within. He doesn’t look like someone that will give up the fight easily to me.

Sadly, I really don’t see a path to second term for him even if he decamps to PDP and hijack the ticket. He is finished politically. If he can’t get PDP ticket, I will advice him to take the Ambode option and quit the stage honorably.
APC is not the only party. The only thing is: federal might is not on his side. But if he has the people behind him, he can pull through.
