Politics / Who Brokers The Power Shift? by ODI444(m): 7:54am On Aug 01, 2020
Happy new month Nlanders.
I decided to clear some air as we approach 2023, because it has become pertinent to do so.
It’s 100% certain power is coming South. A joyous moment for the South.
Another joyous moment is who decide which of the 3 Southern zones will produce.
It used to be a northern affairs but this has changed since the emergence of Goodluck Jonathan.
Now the north has IBB, Abdulsalami, Shagari, Gowon and Buhari. Finance is TY Danjuma.
The south has Obasanjo, Shonekan and Jonathan.
It was unanimous in 2011 in favor of Jonathan, in 2015 in favor of Buhari and polarized in 2019.
But in 2023, it’s going to be unambiguous and South East gets it.
Take your time and study the trend of events, you will understand that the ship has left the harbor. It’s sailing peacefully to the land of the rising sun.
Happy new month.

My brother Yorubas are not leaving any stone unturned. Even in the BBNaija, one housemate was asked aside him, who would he had liked to see as HoH.
The young man, said he doesn’t see anyone aside himself.
His name is Lekan or Laycon.
But I tell anyone that cares to listen, it’s either Igbo or Igbo in 2023. The ship has sailed already.

I am a northerner and I support the south east to produce the next president of Nigeria.

It was alleged the military regime of Gowon named the Nigerian currency as Naira in 1973(meaning Never Allow Igbos Rule Again), this should not be allowed to continue.

Since Ironsi held sway as head of state for a period of 6 months no igbo has ruled the country again.

Let's support Igbo presidency come 2023.

Both PDP and APC need to adopt candidates from the east.

Peace only comes in truth.

Oyo state alone is almost the same landmass with the entire SE region...

Is it about land mass or poverty rate? Also know that logically, the higher the land mass, the higher the population. The higher the population, the higher the poverty rate(though debatable but reasonably in order). That is India and China are rich but more poor citizens than Many European countries.
Coming to landmass, is Oyo bigger than Enugu?

What is this every now and then? This country was expected to get a near comprehensive data for payment of lockdown palliatives, up till now, no data. But someone will sit in his house and cook up figure without empirical evidence.
What is poverty rate? % of the population that is in poverty level.
So based on what we all observed during this lockdown, someone still wants to play ostrich? I leave you to this: Britain knew they were not Europe’s life wire but they deceived people into believing that, until Brexit happened. I’m talking about false belief. I’m talking about self denial.
Continue.

Ngige was accused of filling a government agency with only Igbos mostly from Anambra with up to 5 Ngiges on the nominal roll.. am I surprised? NO it's their way of life.

Some ignorant Yorubas don't know the evil those guys perpetrated against the Yoruba race under GEJ. They literally removed over 80 percent of Yorubas in government agencies both top and mid-level and replaced them with Easterners (leaving Northerners thinking they will re-elect GEJ). Only the Yorubas in Ministries were saved because of their mode of appointment into the Civil service through the Civil Service Commission.

If these ones get presidency, Hausa/Fulani nepotism will be child's play to what will be experienced. Only Yorubas still think liberally in Nigeria, reason they all run to South West but the ingrates will go and be killing Yoruba prosperity at Federal level.

I don’t know all The aides of Vice President, but I’ve never heard any other from other tribes except Yorubas. There is no issue with that, he picked those he’s comfortable with just like the president.
But why is it a crime if Ngige emulates his superiors? Okeyyyyyy because he is Igbo and agenda must agend.

2023: Why South-East should produce next president – Clark, Nkanga

On July 20, 202010:17 amIn News
By Our Correspondents

As race for the 2023 Presidency begins in earnest, some prominent Nigerians have canvassed power shift to the South.

Elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, on his part said: “Nigeria’s unity demands that North and South should rotate the office of president and after President Buhari serves his eight years, presidency should return to the South and specifically go to the South-East zone in 2023.

According to him, “Some people argue that they want people who are intelligent, who have integrity and worthy personality, I dare say that such people are not scarce in Nigeria, whether in North-East, North-West, North-Central, South-West, South-South and South-East.

“So also the Presidency should not remain in the North-West, it should also go to North-Central and North-East, similarly in the South, it should not be South-West, South-South and South-East

“Therefore, anybody who believes in the unity of this country knows its sustenance depends on quality leadership and ability of all sections of the country to aspire to any position in the country.”

South-East deserves it – Nkanga, Luke

PANDEF Chairman, Nkanga said: “Our position is that if there is arrangement of North and South, we should keep to it. If it is coming to the South, it should be South-East zone. But above all, we are calling for restructuring.

“If there is restructur-ing, things will go well in this country, look at what they did to us in Ghana, if the country has been restructured, things will not be going this way, they will not be taking us for granted.

”At least, let us restruc-ture this country to make things work. President Buhari should sign the Electoral Bill so that we can hold proper election in this country.

ALSO READ: Let South have Presidency in 2023 — Adebanjo, Yakassai, Clark

”In 2019, he won power, not election. “Other than restructur-ing the country, we will continue to be a laughing stock and a beggar nation. I am not really much concerned about where presidency goes, we are not so much concerned but let there be restructuring.”

Second vice chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, Pere of Akugbene-Mein King-dom, Delta State, HRM Luke, Kalanama VIII, stated in his contribution: “In my own view which is also an advisory one, for the sake of honesty, sincerity and stability, power should move to the South in 2023.

“When it gets to the South, the South-East, which is also part of the country, should have a bite of the presidency.

“After South-East does its two tenures, the ideal thing, of course, is that power should go back to the North. Again, when power gets to the North, the North-East has never produced any president in the history of this country. Therefore, it should be given same opportunity.

“So for the sake of stability and equity, power should be rotated to Southern Nigeria in 2023 and if they want to micro-zone, they should give opportunity to the South-East. Our role as traditional rulers is to advise the government and I have played my advisory role in the interest of Nigeria.”

Politics / Why I’m Mr. Peter Obi Fanatic. by ODI444(m): 10:30am On Jul 19, 2020
I lived almost all my life in Anambra state.
I knew how my state was pre-democracy, pre-Peter Obi, during Peter Obi and now.
Educationally, we had an educated elite: Achebe, Okigbo, Ojukwu, Mbanefo, etc. Every clan can boast of educated elites.
But there was this gap. Nobody to take over from these sound minds and it was never a priority to the ruling class.
Just like Arsenal FC, Anambra left the league of educated states to mid table strugglers.
Under a civilian governor, the state went on strike for one year.
And it affected my dear state psychologically and otherwise.
During the time of old Anambra state, then Gov Jim Nwobodo would always want to sit on the first row during National events involving states governors. If the opportunity didn’t come, he would go to the MC and influence him to call governors based on the alphabetical order of their states. Of course Anambra was always Number one.
But this mentality of being on the front row died when education died in Anambra state.
Mr. Peter Obi came and restored it.
Anambra dominated in Education once more until recently that Abia state has taken over.
Some people opined that it’s because of malpractices that helped Anambra, but some of our Secondary School girls have won international competitions beating China, US, European countries. Our boys also represented the country in engineering and did exceptionally well.
Has it helped the image of Anambra today?
A great deal if I may say. Today, the toga of “Anambra men don’t go to school” has changed to “Anambra men are too loud”.
We have not only taken back our front row seat, we already have it lockdown. The magic wand was the sustainable policy on education initiated by Mr Peter Obi.
He handed schools back to the mission and funded them.
In his thinking, if Our educated elites are products of mission schools, then missionaries should help bridge the gap created when the schools were taken away from them after the war.
As we celebrate this Icon today, it’s my wish that our leaders initiate radical policies that will impact positively in the society. Because according to Peter Obi, “The society we abuse today will take it’s toll on our children tomorrow”.
Happy birthday The Groomer of Leaders.
More strength, wisdom and grace.

There is a time in someone’s life that all you must do is tell the truth because it won’t make you less a person, rather it will make dwell in peace.
Elder Olu Falae disappointed me by saying Yorubas are the glue holding Nigeria together.
I respect elders in general and Olu Falae in particular but I won’t waste any second in bringing an elder to a place of knowledge.
The only glue holding Nigeria together are found in the nine states Niger Delta.
These states are Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo and Rivers.
Every other considerations are based on primordial sentiments and don’t hold water.

Politics / Re: EXCLUSIVE: Ike Ekweremadu To Run For Governor On APC Ticket by ODI444(m): 8:17am On Jul 09, 2020
Showbby28:
Former Deputy Senate President and Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial district, Mr Ike Ekweremadu has concluded plans to dump his political party , the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2023 Enugu governorship tussle

THE NIGERIA DAILY gathered from a source close to the former deputy Senate President that Ekweremadu has renewed his high-level negotiations with the top echelon of the APC from the South East.

The source told THE NIGERIA DAILY that Ekweremadu’s defection to the APC has nothing to do with disagreement with his own party, the PDP, but solely on his desire to pursue his governorship ambition in 2023.

It will be recalled that Ekweremadu is one of the longest serving senators in the national assembly having represented his senatorial zone for 16 years and still counting.

During his re-election in 2019, Ekweremadu has promised his constituents he would not be seeking another term in the Senate come 2023.

He was first elected to the senate in 2003. In 2015 he attempted to run for Governor but the then Governor, Sullivan Chime denied him the ticket insisting it was the turn of another zone . This prompted Ekweremadu to renegotiate his way back to the Senate.

THE NIGERIA DAILY learnt that Enugu PDP has insisted on following the zoning arrangements of the 1999. Enugu East produced Governor between 1999-2007 , followed by Enugu West (2007-2015) and now Enugu North (2015-date ) The tenure of Enugu North is expected to elapse by 2023 . But Ekweremadu’s close aide told THE NIGERIA DAILY that since all zones have benefited from the zoning arrangements , it doesn’t matter which zone produces the next governor .

Meanwhile, Enugu East which has former governors Chimaraoke Nnamani and Jim Nwobodo has made it clear that they are leaving no stone unturned in producing the next governor and the incumbent governor, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is strongly in support of Enugu East, this Newspaper still learnt.

With Ekweremadu leaving no stone unturned on his interest to occupy the Lion Building ( Enugu State Government House ) and without the support of the incumbent governor, his alternate vehicle to achieve his long time dream is through the APC.

This Newspaper has confirmed that Ekweremadu has activated all his governorship structures and is on the verge of concluding all necessary measures before he finally announced his defection to the APC.

https://thenigeriadaily.com/2020/07/08/exclusive-ike-ekweremadu-to-run-for-governor-on-apc-ticket/

I’m a PDP man but I will support Ekweremadu in any political party. South East needs accomplished individuals to oversee the zone.
Soludo is also good in Anambra. Imo state is unfortunate. Ihedioha would’ve done well.
Ebonyi is doing well while Abia needs someone like Alex Otti.
