The Adams were family friends from way back, the patriarch lost his job at some point and his business wasn't doing well either, he quickly turned his frustrations on his immediate family/household.

How to do a 100 pushups.

The pushup is probably the most effective, single, bodyweight exercise you can do. It is called the beginner’s workout, but it is also known as the king of calisthenics even among the pros.

The Pushup is one of the few exercises that target every muscle group in the upper body. Done properly, the pushup works your arms, Back, Shoulders, Chests, and core. You can also add a little variation to target a specific muscle group.

And for all of it’s benefit, it is quite cheap. All you need is your body and the floor.

Being able to do a 100 pushups is something of a bragging right. It also prepares your body for the 1 armed pushup (a la Creed)

So, I will be sharing with you a technique I used to complete my first 100 pushups.

The technique is known as the pyramid technique. I learnt it from a military man I meant by chance on one of my workout sessions.

Here is how it works:
First, you go down and do a single pushup. Just one. Then you stand up until you are back on your feet again.

Then, you go down again and do two pushups. Then you stand again.

Then you go down and do three, stand. Four, stand. That is how you will keep progressing, increasing the number of reps by 1 until you get to number 10.
By now, you would have done a total of 55 pushups.

Now, you will go back down again, but this, you will not increase the reps. Instead of doing 11 now, you will do just 9 before rising back to your feet.

Then you will go back down again, and do 8. Then 7, then 6, and so until you have gotten back to 1.

That will be a total of 100 pushups. The whole thing takes less than 10 minutes, and you would have done more pushups than most men do in a month.

You might not be able to get to the other end the first time if you are a beginner. I think I only got to number 9 the first time I tried this. But if you do make it to the other end, you will feel accomplished.

It is a good goal to work up to.
This technique can also be used on any exercise. You can use it to do a 100 pullups, Sit ups, Bench press, Squat, etc. You can even use it for the Plank.
You can also raise it from 10 to 15, or even 20.

Another advantage of this is that it increases your up limit. Before I used this technique on Crunches, I could only do about 20 – 25 crunches in one rep. After 30 days of using this technique, I can now do up to 50 crunches.

Going forward, I will be using this technique on the Pullup (I have a max of 7 reps) and one armed pushup (I have a max of 10 reps). The goal is to be able to do 50 one armed pushups and up to a 100 pullup before the year runs out.
