Even during her safe days. You see, in medicine we talk in terms of chances not certainty. Her chances are only slimmer on some days, they are not exactly as slim as zero on any day.

This is why couples using the Calendar and withdrawal method as a form of family planning still often produce babies. As in people having sex on so called safe days and still avoiding introduction of sperms into the female reproductive canal, somehow still manage to reach fertilizations. Small semen in precum travels all the way and still get eggs fertilized. If such small amount of sperm cells can fertilize eggs on safe days, it tell you that no day is actually safe (in that regards) with certainty. To put a number on it, the effectiveness of birth control based on safe days practice is only about 45%, your chances of still getting pregnant on safe days is more than 50% This is why it is usually combined with pills, withdrawal and other less invasive birth control methods.

When I say a woman gets pregnant only within 24hrs of ovulation, I didn't mean that the ovulation must occur on a certain day. Getting pregnant means there was a egg fertilized by the sperm. If a woman gets pregnant anytime, it means that was when she ovulated. You cannot get pregnant with ovulation. But ovulation is not static, the human body is not mathematical that 1+1 will always give 2. The reason why the calendar and withdrawal method fail is also due to this fact. "Safe period" is simply mathematical. When she's done doing the calculation, a little alteration can change the whole configuration and make her ovulate even when she's in "safe period", and boom, she's pregnant. So yes, you can only get pregnant during ovulation. But ovulation is not static . It can come any time in the menstrual cycle. And it can even come multiple times too. But you cannot get pregnant outside ovulation, and the egg once once ovulated does not last beyond 24hours (at least from the available data).

You need to understand the fact that sperm can stay alive up to 1-5 days before it dies as the case maybe be. So, if a lady had sex 2 or 3 days to her ovulation, there are chances that the sperm will fertilize the egg when it's released.

Well my understanding has been that the woman body has a way of storing sperms for eventual fertilization and this could occur within three days to ovulation. Truly, Ovulation will last for 24 hours but women can become pregnant as a result of previous intercourse except for the safe days. In all, from my own little understanding, women can become pregnant between 4-5 days in a month if everything is ok.

The window is not 24hrs but more like 1 week (5 days before ovulation to 1 day after). Remember that sperm cells can survive in the woman for up to 5 days while it is the eggs that last a maximum of 24hrs. This means that if sperm cells are released into the tubes up to 5 days before ovulation they might still be viable when the egg is released, and of course is sperm cells are released into the tubes up to 1 day after ovulation the eggs might still be viable also.

It is a mere chance. In a whole month, you can only get pregnant in ovulation. The egg once ovulated lasts a maximum of 24hrs. If there was no sex then, you can't get pregnant. So out of the 30days in a month, you stand a chance of getting pregnant in a particular "24hrs" , just 1day. If you miss the golden 24hrs, no more pregnancy for that month.

So the chances of getting pregnant is quite low. You need to be having intercourse almost every Day to get pregnant.
So if you are having sex outside the golden "24hrs" and swallowing Beecham, it is a as good as nothing because you won't still be pregnant without taking it.

Pls don't mistake "chance" as efficacy. Beecham does not prevent pregnancy. It's a mere coincidence that you are considering as efficacy.
