PoliticsYCE Berates Ahmad Lawan Over Statement On Shasha Crisis by Odua1stson(op): 6:31am On Feb 22, 2021
Says leadership silence, inactions, others fuelling killings

The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) has berated the Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, for accusing South-West governors and leaders as responsible for ethnic crisis and killings in the region.

But reacting to Lawan’s accusation in a telephone chat with The Guardian, yesterday, the Secretary of YCE, Dr. Kunle Olajide, described his claim as untrue.

He said that on the contrary, it was the silence of the national leadership, including the President of the Senate, fuelling ethnic crisis.

“It is totally untrue. Ethnic crisis is being amplified by the relative silence of even the National Assembly and the Senate President himself and also the Presidency.

“What appears to be the insensitivity of the Federal Government to our plight that has been on now in the last four years in the South-West, that our people are being raped, slaughtered and our farms plundered and not a word or positive action from the Federal Government, including the Senate President, is the cause of the crisis.

“What we hear is platitudes or rhetoric from ministers or aides of the President. So, they are the one responsible for the brazen attitude of the criminals in the forests as none of them has been prosecuted. In fact, the negotiation for payment of ransom some people are advocating encourages abductions to make more money.

“The money they make, they use to buy more arms to keep terrorising people. So, it is the national leadership, including the Senate President himself and the highest authority in the land, that are fuelling the crisis by silence and gross insensitivity,”
he said.

Olajide, therefore, advocated the restructuring of the country to a true federation that would give the state governors power to enforce security in their states

“We must restructure this country,” he further said.

1. We paid herdsmen to stop killing - Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
2. We negotiated with armed bandits and paid ransome to release captives - Governor Bello Masari of Katsina State.
3. Armed bandits have genuine grievances - Islamic Scholar Sheu Gumi.
4. Fulani herdsmen have justified reasons to carry A.K 47 riffle - Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State.
5. Armed bandits are tired. They need encouragement - Governor Sani Bello of Niger State.
6. Not all armed bandits are criminal - Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.
Northern leaders bare facedly make cases for criminals and their activities in, and around their domains without minding who's sensibility is offended.
They know them, their hideouts, take ransom to them, in fact they usually do photoshoot with them to proof to the rest of us that they know what they are doing.
We really don't need a soothsayer to convince us that Northern leaders are the sponsors of criminality in their region.
Yet Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Babajide Sanwolu of Lagos State, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State,
Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State are all yet to find their voices in giving credence to Sunday Igboho's South West liberation movement aimed at flushing out criminal herdsmen who perpetrate wanton killings, rapes, kidnappings, armed robberies, and plundering of farms and produce, from the South West.
While northern Governors don't care what you feel, South West Governors, with the exception of Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, have been set on silent mode for the sake of political correctness and savagery. Rather than speak up for the people of their states, they are busy negotiating the security of the South West for the carrot of 2023. Only the wise will understand.

One of the ways we can support cattle breeding is to change the ways cattle breeders are adopting now. So, there will be designated grazing areas, as well as feed mills. With these, there is no need to trek with herds from far.

• As Govs, Monarchs Storm Ibadan To Proffer Solution To Insecurity In Southwest
The Southwest governors, yesterday, stressed the need to tighten Nigerian borders to prevent foreign herdsmen from coming into the country without any form of caution, saying a number of them have come in with their herds and what they do is worrisome.
The Chairman of Southwest Governors’ Forum, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State stated this at the security meeting held at the Oyo State Governor’s Office, Ibadan.
The meeting was hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office.
Top traditional rulers from the Southwest states were at the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Traditional rulers present included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji; Akarigbo of Remo, Oba Babatunde Ajayi and the Olugbo of Ugboland, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan.
The meeting also had in attendance members of the Oyo State Council of Obas.
The governors include, Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Kayode Fayemi
(Ekiti) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun).
The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Gambari, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammed Adamu and the Director-General of State Service, Yussuf Mogaji Bichi were not physically present at the meeting.
It was gathered that the trio were unable to attend the meeting due to the bad weather that affected
flight out of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Akeredolu said: “The discussion we had with our Obas and security chiefs have been most productive. Many things we never thought of came up and we heard from our Kabiyesis more mature approach to
challenges we are facing in the South West and the country at large.
“And from our discussion, we all agreed that the time is now that we support the decision of National
Economic Council (NEC) about forests management.
They believe that all the states should be in the position to manage their forests, which will give enough room to determine who is there, what purpose they are serving, and where you have people illegally.
The states should be able to take steps to enable us preserve our forests.
“We all agreed that our borders have become too porous, and that we need to do something urgently to prevent foreign herdsmen from coming into this country without any form of caution, because a
number of them have come in with their herds and what they do is of concern to us. We all believe that
our borders need to be checked and tightened, so that all those foreigners from Niger Republic and
those beyond bordering states don’t come in with their herds and destroy our farms.
“We also discussed that, as we are supporting other areas of farming, like rice farmers and others, there is
need for government to support cattle breeding.
“One of the ways we can support cattle breeding is to change the ways cattle breeders are adopting now. So, there will be designated grazing areas, as well as feed mills. With these, there is no need to trek with herds from far. But, things that will lead to open grazing in these modern times must be looked at and the state and federal government, in particular, should give as much support as possible to cattle breeders.”

PoliticsGovernor Abiodun: Sarkin Fulani Speaks Yoruba Better Than I Do by Odua1stson(op): 9:28pm On Feb 20, 2021
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has said that the Sarkin Fulani in Yewa North speaks Yoruba better than he does, stressing that herdsmen are not criminals.

Gov Abiodun said this while addressing newsmen at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.

DAILY POST reports that the governor was at the Presidential Villa to present a report on the recent headsmen crisis in Ogun State to President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Abiodun, the killings in Ogun were not by Fulani herdsmen, but by bandits, whom he said were cattle rustlers.

He said media houses were not helping matters, wondering why someone would be in a hurry to spread fake news.

“The Fulanis have lived with us in Ogun State for hundreds of years peacefully.

“The Sarkin Fulani from that particular corridor speaks Yoruba better than I do.

“One of the problems we have realised is ethnic profiling. Criminals are criminals. Our people have had a problem with drawing the line between peaceful Fulani people who are traditionally herdsmen and bandits, who are cattle rustlers.

“The media houses are not particularly helping us. It beats me why somebody will be in such a hurry to spread fake news. We don’t have any country apart from Nigeria. There must be stiff penalty for people propagating fake news because fake news is threatening the unity of this nation.

Abiodun disclosed that the state is now enjoying relative peace, as he commended the northern governors who were in Ogun State for a peace talk.

It would be recalled that about 12 persons were said to have been killed by suspected herdsmen in Yewa axis of the state over the last one week.

PoliticsSouthwest Nigerian Youths Listen by Odua1stson(op): 1:45pm On Feb 20, 2021
SOUTHWEST NIGERIAN YOUTHS LISTEN,
As intelligent as the Yorubas are (claim to be), we have been unable to string together the constitutional processes that will lead to the peaceful dissolution of this unholy marriage in Nigeria.
Well, I think it is now left to the youths to find the way to do this.
The older generation, if they could, would have. It's no point looking up to the elders again.
Yoruba say "àgbà ò ní wà l'ọ́jà kí orí ọmọ tuntun wọ́", but even orí àgbàlagbà gan tí wọ́ bayi. Àgbàlagbà sef need person wey go straight his head.
To distract intelligent citizens from the legitimate process needed to effect a constitutional restructuring
is the gimmicks that the divide and rule actors play.
Every now and then, they will mislead you guys to think that it is an ethnic war that you need to fight.
They make you believe that it has to be war with other ethnic groups. No. That's a lie from the ones who
want to distract you from how to go about the real issue.
Everything rises and falls on the laps of the members of the two national houses of legislatures. The agbádá wearing stinkingly rich, luxuriously decorated lawmakers who facilitate boreholes, solar street lights and distribute rice and salt to members of their constituency as constituency projects. They do all things but make laws that will move the country's youthful population forward in life.
They are the people through whose pens and offices you will effect the decision to change the constitution for the greater good. That is the meaning of the votes you gave them or the one they bought from you.
Your governors too will not speak of the need to dissolve this marriage because after his tenure as your governor, he has an eye in the senate where he can be for life, receiving senator's salary and
governor's pension - FOR LIFE.
(If these men don't deserve to be hanged, I don't know who deserves it. There are no bigger criminals in the country than Nigerian politicians).
* Southwest has 18 Senators (3 from each of the 6 states)
* It also has 54 house of Representative members (9 from each of the 6 states).
These are the people to make "war" with.
Southwest youths, tell these men (through letters) in the Houses to move immediately with the process to dissolve this marriage called Nigeria or tell them to forget their houses back home.
Bombard them with letters.
Visit them in Abuja with placards.
Do videos, Tag them on all social media handles.
Harrass them wherever you see them both offline and online.
If they don't effect the change in the houses, let them from Abuja be traveling abroad.
Let them know that they have no place in the community anymore.
If the kings try to curb you from taking that stand, tell the king to either join his voice with you or open the Calabash and go join the ancestors if he doesn't want true freedom for you.
Ojú bọ̀rọ̀ kò gba ọmọ lọ́wọ́ èkùrọ́, we had better come to understand this and follow it stubbornly or say
goodbye to freedom.
Nigerian youths cannot achieve their full potential with the current Nigerian structure.
Don't be deceived.
1. Organize yourselves through social media (whatsapp or telegram) as a group of concerned
youths.
2. Appoint representatives from all the senatorial discritcs and federal constituencies within southwest, southeast and southsouth (we share a common struggle with these people and the alliance is needed for the numbers needed in the houses to effect the needed change).
3. Move for a restructuring that will ensure that every state in Nigeria functions as an independent federating unit that has authority over its Security apparatus (Police - not one controlled from Abuja); and
a state that has authority over its natural resources and free to pursue exploration of the same for the economic benefit of the population within the state.
4. Vehemently reject the status quo which makes the southern part of the country the home of the natural resources upon which the northern part of the country feeds its large population of legislators without commensurate contribution to the national treasury.
In a federal system, each state will finance the center from a percentage of its produce.
In our present system, states from the rich south have to get money from the federal center which is full of Northerners. So it means that the North is the one sharing the resources of the south to all.
5. Stay on this course no matter how long and how strenuous it will take to achieve it. The Òrìṣàs are with you and will continue to weaken your enemies even as you stand on this path of TRUTH for the development of all, rather than the system designed to benefit a few.
You have become rocks and your enemies have become eggs, as you crash into them they break into pieces, if they crash into you, they break into pieces.
Dear youths, join hands together now to fight for your future.

I just can't believe some Yoruba(s) Leaders, who are major beneficiaries of the Nigeria political system and the fraudulent document of 1999 telling the world that Yoruba(s) are beating "Drum Of War".
But these same people never saw the cold killings, kidnappings, farmlands destruction, etc of other fellow Yoruba(s) has "Drum Of War".
Should the Yorubas now sit and watch immigrants take over their lands and make rules for them to
abide by?
Why are these killers and enemies of Yoruba(s) not beating "Drums Of War"?
Why is it that when Yoruba(s) said enough of these shits from the Northerners, the same Yoruba Leaders that are supposed to caution the Northerners is now saying the same Yoruba(s) that should be their 1st priority in Nigeria's political realm is beating "Drum Of War"?
Àbí is the demand for a Yoruba Republic that will be governed by Yoruba(s) with the rules and regulations made by Yoruba(s) a "Drum Of War"?
Even the educated ones are not just deceiving themselves, but many who follow and love them.
Mr most educated, please mention 1 Country in Europe, Asia, America, that has different major languages and makes a peaceful Nation?
Catalunya(Barcelona) is even demanding to leave Spain diplomatically.
Why can't Yorubas do the same?
Why must you con people to be in a Country that doesn't have a common indigenous language for all to speak like we see in European and some African Countries except English?
A Country that puts a tribe and region above others when others are the main source of the economy is not a Country to be in.
We demanding for a Yoruba Republic is not beating "Drum Of War". But if they bring more War than they are doing now, we will fight and bled for our land.

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State has said that bandits terrorising the North are not only from the Fulani ethnic group.

According to him, there are the Igbo, the Yoruba and the Hausa who are the real beneficiaries of the illicit trade.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, the Governor said, “These bandits are not only Fulanis.

“In fact, they are terrorising the Fulanis but they have Fulani miscreants within them; they have Hausa, they have Igbo suppliers; they have Yorubas. They’re people really benefitting from the illicit trade.”

Speaking further, Mohammed said he has not changed his mind on his recent comment that herders have no option but to carry AK-47 for self-defence because they are being attacked and killed by cattle rustlers.

“I have not changed my opinion on the issue; I was not defending herdsmen,” he said.

The Governor also said that “It seems the security agencies have thrown in the towel; are mesmerized,” on the security situation in the country.

PoliticsNigeria Is Currently Facing Crisis — Tinubu by Odua1stson(op): 7:24pm On Feb 19, 2021
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has called for peace among all ethnic, tribal and religious groups in Nigeria.

Tinubu made the call on Friday, during the Eighth-Day Fidau Prayer for the late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the first Civilian Governor of Lagos State.

He said that the country was facing a crisis but all needed to live in harmony and give peace a chance.

”Nigeria is currently facing a crisis; a crisis of insurgency, banditry in all aspects of security, but God Almighty that made this country as one of the largest and most resourceful countries will protect us.

”I appeal, in his memory today, for us not to turn whatever challenges we are facing right now into ethnic, tribal and religious crises.

”If there is a crisis, where do we go? We will submerge entire West Africa, there will be no enough space to accommodate us.

”Those who have seen the effect of war, the effect of tribal conflict, of religious conflict, will never want it for Nigeria.

“We pray to God to strengthen our mind, guide our faith, put peace and bring peace unto this land, may Allah bless all of us,”
Tinubu said.

He said that the clerics were very critical in the present situation, urging them for their prayers, commitment, fasting, all the sermons geared toward peace and stability in the country.

According to him, the death of the first civilian governor, Jakande is not just a loss to the family, but Lagos in general.

Tinubu said that Lagos and Nigeria at large were lucky to have a man like Alhaji Lateef Jakande, drawing from his wealth of knowledge.

”Today, he is no more but he is still existing to the eternity, we pray for Lagos State, we pray for Nigeria to give us more people, more leaders that are prudent, honest, that give priority to the world in the future,” he said.
