arresa:Lagos is far removed from the idiocy of the Nigerian state. All those former governors were well groomed professionals . You cannot come with your garage talk and expect to be elected . In fact, if the well groomed omoluabis took part in elections and voted regularly, idiotts will never get into power in Yorubaland . Lagos is building the infrastructure in Eko Atlantic ( a critical project that I support .even if I don't support 4MB). This medical village is another one of those groundbreaking projects that you can only find in Lagos , ogun or oyo . No public fund involved apart from support. In this case , government backing and land worth billions. I suggest that Lagos should try the hybrid charter school system with her public education. Hand over public schools to private managers. The managers manage the schools on behalf of the state while the state regulate conformance to standards |
No western education but standing tall. |
Yorubanews:Osun can build tourism on the Yoruba religion and ifa I have advocated for the creation of an ifa university of the universe . A university where research in science and technology is the mission . Heavily funded and heavily subsidised. A massive temple to bring the Yoruba religion into the the Age of Enlightenment . I do not think there has been any attempt at organised reformation . |
This article is simplistic rubbish. |
The good old days wining and dining on caviar and champagne abi . What exactly was your father's source of income? Boko haram party? I thought the chief of Boko haram is the chairman of PDP. Criminal trying to latch on legitimate grievances and tears of the people they have abused , to get back into power. It is not going to happen. |
![]() Someone should give them feel route map to Ebonyi. |
The first president to do his job. The national assembly have to give reasons for the increase.of they cannot justify the increase,no game. |
Beyond the realms of comprehension of folks. True but Nigeria has to get the basics right before you can start talking about and counting peripheral job creation. For example Last night, when Liecester won the EPL,jobs were created in liecester city because of the extra shifts and temporary workers needed for the celebrations. Bars, clubs restaurants, sovenieurs etc All those stocks of beer, wine and soda that were depleted quicker than normal have to be replaced. That equals more production run. The problems in Nigeria is that Nigeria makes nothing. Where she does, the value chain is not deep. Therefore, the benefits are reap elsewhere. It is like talking about space travel. Learn to drive on the road first. |
And you think the world gives a toss about you people. At best, the secret police will takes down notes for future security projections and analysis. |
Mediocrity right there. Where you are expecting an ambitious plan to make sacrifices and be talking about adding 500MW every month for the next 8 yrs. 7000MW. The same quantity of electricity used by Tokyo airport. How are you going to develop a country if the leadership and citizens of the country lack priorities or cannot get the right. Go out and borrow and ramp up power. Nigeria is losing out of hundreds of billions of dollars in growth just waiting till 2017 to generate only 7000MW Talk to the governors to stop building rubbish hotels, roads, airports and pool resources to stop the rot. |
Amaso99:Una eyes just dey open. You all deserve the eye candy that your politicians are providing you. Flyovers Unviable airports Expensive Roads to unviable places Amusement park Stadiums Hotels Conference centres Expensive monuments Are some of the things that money was and is still being wasted by almost all the governors. Like I have said before, the only places who played to their strengths during the boom were Lagos, ogun, oyo and Rivers. A country wishing to develop has other priorities starting from technical education all the way to cottage industries and finishing up by building value chains on those investments. Excerpt from a comment I made over a year ago. Lastly, when I say that Abuja is rubbish for the money spent and wasted on it, your picture proves it all over again. South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia etc were building power plants, steel plant, aqueduct, pharmaceutical, IT,industrial and technology Hubs while our useless leaders were wasting money on building a chappy and soulless capital. Guess what? they are still wasting money on that rubbish. The worst thing is that Nigerians cannot even build their own damn roads. They give the contracts to foreigners to build them substandard infrastructure. |
![]() All the gibberish and still ended up saying nothing. How do you tell oni tomatoes that marginally increasing Public sector salaries does not mean that they should increase the price of tomatoes. This gibberish will not change Nigerians to tax payers. That they have to fund their government and not the other way round. Will it stop them from going after ill-gotten weath. Like I have said before. When Nigerians stop the delusion of having an economy, then we will start getting somewhere. Inflation, capital markets, stock exchange are like your idea of a government. We have the illusion of having something like America, Canada, britain. In reality, it is an illusion. It does not exist. The closest to having a tool for dealing with inflation in that illusion is by reducing the supply of naira. Every year, the CBN hands over N600 billion to the bank by printing money, lend it to them, then borrow it bank at an higher interest rate. These banks make that much from simply lending you your own money back. That scam has been going on for a long time. They do not have to invest in housing, toll roads, mortgages, loans etc. All they have to do is hand the money back to the CBN. N600 billion just like that Rinse and Repeat every year. See those 4 fingers? They are pointing at you. For choosing to live in that illusion. |
What does it mean or prove? That they are safer? Have better roads, schools, hospitals, job opportunities, better quality of life Government does not exist for the payment of salaries. |
The previous normal = mad man normal Aka abnormal. That normal got you to where you are now. Nigeria cannot afford that corruption infested fuel importation regime anymore. Neither can we afford people stealing money through the budget. We cannot afford to go back to the abnormal. |
Yes Put money back into the pocket of local farmers. |
fiizznation:Their victims, the ones who got away are good enough evidence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CQ4SLUTeRI |

if anyone ask why I hate Nigeria. I abhor any form of criminality and violence. Nobody has the right to take the live of another person ( not even the state), covet another man's property or take what is not yours. Above all else, I hate backwardness or the mentality that results in backwardness. Just today, in a news, a state in the north conducted mass wedding. If people cannot afford to pay for their wedding ( how much is court wedding), how are they going to take care of their children? The Facts Herdsmen of the fulani stock are responsible for all the mass killing genocide that is going on in the middle belt. They are also known for invading farms. This is criminality and terrorism rolled into one. http://sbmintel.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/201604_Herdsmen-attacks.pdf

Extreme Lawlessness. |
They are fulani herdsmen and they are constituting a nuisance. |
SR say it as it is. No ifs,no buts |
Terrorists |
If they are being kidnapped and their cattle stolen, the people perpetuating the crimes are people who can herd cattle and dispose of them. Their own people. By the way, What does it have to do with the LAWLESSNESS Of the herdsmen. |
Because the so called men of God stand for nothing but Materials and worldly stuffs. Power and material wealth. |
It is obvious that the criminals from, and the lawlessness in the north, Niger and Chad have moved to fertile grounds in the south. Anyone who has an idea of what went down in 70s, 80s and 90s in that belt can relate to what I am saying. Guns, lawlessness, murders and genocide were the norms. |
CFCman:This is nothing but the misapplication of resources. Whether private or public. The same thing us going on in all the states apart from maybe lagos, ogun and rivers state who are playing to their strengths. The rest do not have a plan or priorities What have they done with |
ramdris:Only Obasanjo took on all groups with any level of fairness. These things happened under OBJ as well. But whenever it happened, Obasanjo used brute force to quell it. Even as far as throwing out governors who were promoting militias. You can blame OBJ for failing to recognise the problem and maintaining the illusion of unity, what you cannot blame him for is fairness. |
kropotkin11:Yeah they have tight to live under conditions . Fashola has already set down the marker with his removal policy. |
That Nigerian constitution with the lie "we the people agree" nobody agreed to that piece of crap. Solution The south and other ethnic nationality in the middle belt need to huddle around a conference table, get a map, agree on borders, sign a watertight agreement, take it to UN nations and chart of move towards independence or restructuring. I have said it many times. This guys will double down on a system that is killing them as long as the tiny fulani and their southern acolytes elite can continue to benefit. Nigeria has been running on a system they insisted was the best. The result has been a disaster. |
I want something better. Everybody, region and ethnic group is responsible for whatever has become of Nigeria. |
Nothing more to add
