They said, " bring that rope so that I can hang you" The African says, " How long" Look at the pictures of figures of Kings and Gods of Egypt below. There are thousand just like that. Look at theirs nose. The nose of a black man so they were chopped up. For those who remained, they were massacred and enslaved. Now Egypt is not black anymore. Many parts of black Sudan was obliterated in the last 60 years alone .

Lifestone:You meant fiscal?Gives us an idea of where to get the dollars apart from controlling bad habits? You can't print it.that is out of the question. I am opposed to sudden devaluation because that will shift the burden on the 70% living below poverty and push more into poverty . It will not solve the scarcity of forex because we export virtually nothing. So what miraculous policy would make dollars suddenly available apart from stretching what we have and play the long game against oil price recovery ? |
Who are those poor Nigerians who need dollars for their everyday existentence. I used to think this guy has got some sense in him but I am evaluating my opinion. He's been making so many crackpot statements on twitter that................ Taking time to listen to all these elected and selected public officials is making it obvious day by day. All these people want to walk before learning jump if you are so concerned about Web hosting, why not go and invest in a server/data warehouse( there are a few in Nigeria already. Patronise them). That should save them from spending dollars. Typical. Alway looking for the easy way out. Servicing and trading and not producing and manufacturing. No wonder they need Syrian plumbers and Lebanese bricklayers to build their Road. Phillipino and Indonesian welders to weld their pipelines and oil rigs. Egyptians to hire earth moving equipment Indian and Sri Lankans to build their software I can go on and on with the list of basic things which can be done by Nigerians but on which we need foreigners Who are the Nigerians suffering from the ban where 95% have not seen the inside of a aeroplane before ? Most do not know where the next meal is coming from. These fools are all making noises because it is harder to waste they billions of dollars that they used to squander on luxury,in expensive shops London, new York, Paris and Milan. Growing up I remember all the plastic companies making toys, small cottage industries making exercise book, eleganza making pen etc Basically Nigerians and Nigeria attempting to make stuffs and do it themselves. Nowadays, everyone simply want to take the easy way out. Go to China or dubai Nigeria? Hashtag absolutely useless. |
omooba969:That question automatically means that you do not deserve a reply. |
it does not mean that you should kill 300 people just like that. I guess that omoluabi values makes for a different way of thinking. Only one group had big guns and the onus was on them to minimise the use of violence. From all the videos I 've seen, it was the army shooting at defenseless if petulant people who could have been dislodged with tear gas and rubber bullets. Or simply by the governor asking for audience with their leaders. That their camp was destroyed a few days after, also means that this was premeditated. It was murder pure and simple and that event has no place in a decent society. You can check on YouTube to find more videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhOWjwqLmRw Someone was questioning the number of the dead, saying they only saw 3 bodies. In the video .well even one is one too many for me. But for those with humanity, this should gives you an idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEu4YHa7bqs Report from human right watch https://www.hrw.org/news/2015/12/22/nigeria-army-attack-shia-unjustified |
tuale4u:Very few people can tell you who makes a progressive and who makes a conservative. Buhari's budget is definitely a progressive budget. |
Sorry to say, Tinubu is a private citizen.Tinubu never held a position in the federal government and he stopped holding a state position almost 10 year ago. Unless you can go back 10 years to prove something, goodluck with that. Meanwhile, Buhari can only bare his fangs on officials who held federal positions and on other occasions, outrageously corrupt states. Those federal workers and officials are his immediate constituency. This is where most of the corruption in Nigeria takes place. By the way, If or not tinubu Is corrupt, his corruption is can be considered milder an less injurious like other states. When I say other states, I mean all the other states. Lagos is doing just fine and if not for being saddled with the responsibility of other leper states, would be doing even better. |
Jonathan and those who support him are all fantasist. They all live in their self constructed bubble away from the realities of their cluelessness and corruption. Every where you look, they left mass destruction. The more they shouted transformation, the more it became obvious that the country was on speed track to calamity. Oil prices rose to unimaginable proportions yet at the end of it all, the country still runs on PTF infrastructure. Poverty rose too. Death stalked the land. He claimed to have transformed sectors which predated his government. Telecoms which Obasanjo bled to reclaim from the hands of cabals and ineptitude. the IT industry which OBJ single handedly raised from nowhere through bis financial and government support for the marine one and marine two intercontinental fibre optics cable. What about the cheap publicity he sought to gain from putting ancient trains on rail whose renovation was given to the Chinese by ABACHA. This renovation continued all through a Abubakar, Obasanjo and yaradua. During this time there were trains on the track. I can vividly remember when the Chinese were working on the ibadan axis of the track in 1997. The only thing he did was to squander all the gains from high oil prices without anything to show for it. They turned the economy which was not producing enough to a consumption, import everything economy. through Iweala, Nigeria started importing beans, tomatoes, palm oil etc. Thereby throwing even more farm people from the rural areas into urban destitution. Jonathan's government can be summed up in following Clueless projects 1 cassava bread( not even his idea or work) 2 Almajiris school which exist on paper 3 Sure p for PDP thugs 4 Sale of government properties for peanuts 5 a rubbish you- win 6 telephone for farmers 7 cooking pot 8 Abuja CCTV which has never worked 9 airport transformation ( have you been to MMA recently) The Jonathan locust years Are years Nigerians are not getting back. The magnitude of his ineptitude will last for generations. |
anonimi:The second coup |
bonechamberlain:So that they can run down the forex ( dollars, pounds and euros) in circulation and inside the vaults of the CBN. Abi no be so. For once, I am getting to a point where I think buhari should allow the typical Nigerian( ignorant, shortsighted, self centred and selfish) to have his way. If they had put half as much effort into fighting the ills in the country, things would definitely not have been like this. Simply put, Buhari should allow the materialistic and ignorant Nigerian ( almost all) to have his way and consume like he wants. In 5- 9 months, he will be lucky find an ATM coughing naira. Not to talk to of dollars. $29 billion foreign reserve with many thieves waiting to change the naira to dollars would not last 6 months. |
I guess you were not thinking about the consequences of transformation agenda without an agenda or any positive transformation. Nigerian forex would barely last for 9 months of based on on the reckless habits and policies developed under the government of the Jonathan. Every single thing you buy in Nigeria that is not made in Nigeria put pressure on that reserve and the value of the Nigeria. While somethings like medical equipment, medicine are essentials, many of the stuffs we imports like tomato paste, Rice, pots, spoon, knives, pans, pens, champagne are not. With oil prices responsible for the FG's foreign reserve ( money sent by the diaspora mostly circulates in the black market or are withheld by commercial banks), the only good option is to stretch the dollars-in-hand for as long as possible while promoting local substitutes for thousand imported items and hoping for a recovery in oil prices. The other option is outright devaluation with the attendant social consequences. For an economy dependent on importation , a sudden government sanctions devaluation will lead to more poverty, increase in prices, inflation, rise in interest rates and workers strikes demanding more salaries to based on the new realities. In the mean time, the other 95% who are not civil servant would have to bear the brunt and the cost. The last option( which I am beginning to support) is to allow Nigerians have their ways and continue with their delusion of transformation and greatness. Let them chop all the dollars in 6 month and have a taste of what it means. From wiki What is the balance of payments deficit? The current account shows the net amount a country is earning if it is in surplus, or spending if it is in deficit. It is the sum of the balance of trade (net earnings on exports minus payments for imports), factor income (earnings on foreign investments minus payments made to foreign investors) and cash transfers. A currency crisis is when, serious doubt exists as to whether a country's central bank has sufficient foreign exchange reserves to maintain the country's fixed exchange rate. The crisis is often accompanied by a speculative attack in the foreign exchange market. A currency crisis results from chronic balance of payments deficits, and thus is also called a balance of payments crisis. Often such a crisis culminates in a devaluation of the currency. Buhari has already blocked speculators. The next thing is to ride this one out while boosting domestic production via import substitution, building up infrastructure, curbing corruption in revenue agencies and setting the country's priorities straight. For all the private jets owners in Nigeria, I can hardly name more than 7 people whose source of income can be regarded as productive. Most of the rest in the service sector in service of a corruption non-economy. Solution No dollar abi Since your palm wine paper get money, transfer to redeemer university, babock etc. The most important At the end of the Second World War, Great Britain had a problem. They and their allies had won the war, but the country was financially destitute. The government had spent all their money (and then some) defeating the Nazis ( substitutes the government had spent money on defeating the enemy with Jonathan's government had squandered all the money Iweala had mismanaged the economy) . To bring cash back into the island nation, the English government ordered all manufacturers to sell their product to other countries. " Export or Die" became the slogan of those hard times. |
Ignorant folks sending out ignorant folks to protest in front of trigger happy policemen $38/ barrel 2 million barrels a day ( if they can find buyers) 60% profit share 60% X 2,000,000 X $38 X 365 = WETIN Remove operational and production expenses. Then money is shared 55/ 45 between the federal, state and local government Assuming production goes on 24/7. No shutdowns and all Awon didinrin |
EdCure:Unfortunately for them and from the comments you read online and the what is said on radio biafra, that biafra is almost destined to become a basket case. A default dictatorship or something very close to it. The igbo entire society as it is lacks any form of checks and balances. On a daily basis, not only on nairaland, you read so many illogical comments that you begin to wonder..... Maybe 1 out of every 20 of people who are supposed to be educated gets it. Honestly I see northerners as been more civic conscious even if their leaders and religion are holding them back. I am still trying to scratch my head why the butthurt over a monumental disaster of an ex president called Jonathan. |
Omoluabis doing their thing as usual. Congrats. One day, one day we get our self governance back and those with genes would not have to leave. |

BeClever:You have come full circle or should I say, you are tying yourself in knots The bolded is exactly the philosophy of ifa divinity. The concept of Ori( the head) and how you with your own hands and acts shape your own destiny. There is no Satan to blame. |
BeClever:You were right up until the point you lumped ifa divinity with others. I guess you will never get the point because you have to reach another level of enlightenment on how it plays into nationalism, nation building, patriotism and identity. Personally I would rather have no religion at all. I am an atheist,a humanist and a realist. However, if If an option arises that only one religion must exist for the yorubas, The ifa divinity takes it all the time. The extreme corruption and miseducation in yorubaland came with christainity and Islam. It is very easy to prove. |
drberry:And not God? Right there they are creating a new God called Jesus. They came with a chap called jesus. Before you know it, that jesus has turned into supply side jesus. The jesus of capitalism and materialism It is all there to see to in the churches. Anyway like I said go and look for your Satan in Jerusalem and Mecca. Eshu is not your Satan. Olorun is not your God Olodumare is not your God. You can have your holy ghost, mohammed and holy ghost water. By the way, can the so pious tell us how much of their money, time and resources they devoted to charity, their community, the needy and other less privileged beyond their give "your life to Christ" circles |
drberry:A few people or places? probably not. Hundreds of thousands or millions? Definitely yes. |
BeClever:Anyone can do as they like but the days of allowing those 2 religions to desecrated the true path to God ( if he exist) is over. Fire for fire from now on. Anyone who desecrate our ancestral religion, values.we will desecrate yours with proofs of that person's insanity. Like I said, you can be whatever you want. They continously go around burning items associated with the ifa divinity in their churches and calling the yoruba religion demeaning names. Why can't they burn the Koran in the same churches. I 've never seen them do it. |
drberry:Twice you have exhibited the typical trait.i deliberately left it out because I knew it was going to come up again Worshipped? We worship the one almighty God But let's talk about the hypocrisy of Christianity and Islam because they are the same. John Luke Mark Sunday Mary Paul are the typical names you see on thousands churches, hospitals and I hardly esubiyi, sangotade around. So which religions can be regarded as worshipping an earthling #HYPOCRITES |
BeClever:Yet the billions of cows, chickens, Turkey and goat that are killed every year during Christmas and easter are what exactly? |
Demmocrats:Anyway, I am yoruba and I genetically programmed to live alongside other beliefs But please remove Esu from your book of myth As well as olodumare Olu Orun and Olu Okun and other gods of the land which Christianity and Islam have tried to imbibe and use to enslave the mind of our people, mortgage their future and steal their wealth. Esu is not the devil in your story book. There are no devils in the yoruba religion and yorubaland. There are people who do evil things and those pastorpreneur and imams are very high on the list. If you insist on looking for a devil, you can head out to Jerusalem and Mecca to look for your Satan. ESU IS NOT YOUR SATAN GO AND LOL OK FOR YOUR SATAN IN THE MIDDLE EAST |
drberry:Practical and straight to the point. Perhaps the most famous Yoruba story about Eshu concerns two inseparable friends who swore undying fidelity to one another but neglect to acknowledge Eshu. These two friends work on adjacent fields. One day Eshu walks on the dividing line between their fields, wearing a cap that is black on one side and red (or white) on the other. He saunters between the fields, exchanging pleasantries with both men. Afterwards, the two friends got to talking about the man with the cap, and fall to violent quarreling about the color of the man's hat, calling each other blind and crazy. The neighbors gather about, and then Eshu arrives and stops the fight. The friends explain their disagreement, an Eshu shows them the two-sided hat--all this to chastise the friends for not putting him first in their doings. The lesson of the tale is obvious, but just as interesting is where it places the god. Moving along the seam between two different worldviews, he confuses communication, reveals the ambiguity of knowledge, and plays with perspective. |
Demmocrats:I will leave you with a verse from your story book. Take it to your pastor to interprete it if he can. Then go to your history professor to tell you about the true history of the world. Revelation 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. |
Demmocrats:Afi wonder naa I was expecting that crap from the book of myth. Which Jesus? The black one or the one you know? |
Demmocrats:Ifa has an answer for you. Practical and no mystery about it It is through constantly studying Ifa that we come to understand Ifa It is through missing the way that we come to know the way It is the road we have not traveled before that causes us to wander here and there Keep wandering |
nmreports:Since most are so blind and are incapable of critical thought(Most do not even read). It will come back to you the only way you know how to see. Through your colonial masters. Ifa temples are springing up all over the world. People who are tired of the monologue ( i lie? Your jet riding pastors sit on their throne and scare the living shitts out of their mugus while picking their pocket)and scare tactics of those 2 religions are converting into a religion which engages you in a dialogue. |
ril19:You can search for it. Pointing you one direction is doing you a disfavour. There are many truths along the way. I will point you towards ancient egypt 1st dynasty .Start working back from there. Why do u you think they keep sending anthropologists and researchers to yoruba land? |
ril19:Nope The Bible was stolen from pagans. |
