Let us be objective. Almost all the ethnic nationalities have been involved in the pillaging of the country. By the way,the lack of objectivity makes the writer identity suspicious. As much as the writer tries to disguise his bias, there are cues that he is not who he claims to be. |
Funny |
crudeoilagent:You were like this 3 years ago. You probably did not notice. Nigeria has been on this downward trajectory since the British left in 1960. If you are talking about the current economic malaise,Jonathan owns this baby. do you think all the fraudulent acts and acts of mismanagement do not have implications? Nigeria lived beyond hers means, the leadership stole most of her wealth, did not spend the little not stolen on anything fruitful and the devil has come to collect his debt. |
The IQ of lagos state has gone down. I do not know what has to be done to save the state. Growing up, your neighbours were medical doctor, diplomats, principal, the small time building contractors, the civil servant. Even the poor people around were cool and morally upright people and had their Civics nailed down. This man is simply expressing the feudalist relationship between the northern ruling class and their people. This is the reason why they have Boko haram today. |
This would have been a good write up but saying that Ahmadu bello was anything but a neo-conservative and a tribal leader is not true. In fact, trying to make it out that he was a great leader is nothing but an expression of bias . In fact, his actions led to his death. Every ailment afflicting Nigeria today started Under his watch. From corruption, jailing opposition, election rigging to using the military to suppress dissent. Nkurumah,as flawed as he was, was a far more effective leader than Ahmadu Bello and someone who knew what had to be done. Finally the most annoying aspect of it, where this man tries to make Pan - africanism a bad idea or phrase. That Ahmadu bello and the writer think pan - africanism is bad says a lot about their state of mind, ignorance and their incapacity. People who have been brain-washed and mentally incapacitated by a combination of religion , feudal elitism and cronyism and the allure of being the top topdog in a crony capitalist society. Nothing but "we are the ones to replace the colonial masters mentality." If Ahmadu bello thought that being a pan africanist is the same as being a racist, it is further proof that he was unfit to lead. He and his follower can head off to Saudi Arabia, UAE or any other country to await further instructions from their masters. |
Sweetguy25:Cognitive dissonance right there. |
They are not protesting against corruption. We can solve this problem once and for all. Bring back regionalism or just partition the damn country. Back in the days, the protests were against corruption, military dictatorship and cronyism. Lagos and indeed the West never had this type of citizens. |
Vulu:Ode have you taken a look at the federal budget and where most of the money is coming from? We cannot wait for that day to come |
That is western region. The rest of Nigeria has always been the like. |
All these wives should get a day job. |
About time the government dealt with all criminals who use legitimate causes to feather their own nest. No one could have predicted that the voices of a few idiots will be louder today than those of negligent and neglected millions. This is one of the reasons why oil coys are diverting from the ND. Also, it is one of the reasons why little or no private investment is going there. |
70/30 for recurrent /capital ratio looks good on paper but the devil is the the detail. Nigerian budgets over the years, have being nothing but a useless piece of paper used by the self serving civil service and absolutely corrupt federal government to steal and destroy. it is noteworthy that for once, We have an administration with some mechanism to detect foul play and to react to what was detected by citizens, civil society and external bodies. Money for lubricant and fuel? I smell wasteful spending and avenues for corruption right there. Money for websites updates. That depends on the scale of the website and on the type of updates you are doing. I have friends overseas who have worked on websites running into $500 million. Some cost billions of dollars to run e.g Google However, those kind of spending are absolutely unnecessary considering the poverty in the land, the lack of infrastructure and the wreckage left behind by the last administration. This is reason why the government has to publish every needle in the budget. |
N820 billion naira out of a budget of 6 trillion. Almost insignificant. I think time is nigh to deal with this criminal militants problem once and for all. |
When fayemi was being creative in funding the state, unable say him Na ekiti abroad. |
What you see right there is worth it's weight in gold This goes especially to those omoluabi who think staying in Nigeria is better than going it alone. |
Just send the bulldozer |
Everything about Nigeria is archaic |
In a cage called aso rock |
Jonathan was simply busy sharing money to every area boy around. |
Seperating goats from stolen yams is hardwork |
this is why the Nigerian police force is as good as useless. barbaric training in a place where they should be learning about the laws, Upgrading their mindset Learning about decency and decorum. Crisis management Intelligence gathering Crime scene investigation or preservation |
this is why for every person who is a Fashola, Emefiele,Ngige,El rufai and co, you need intelligent guys or even younger smarts . I am going to throw an idea out there. It is not original and has nothing to do with reinventing the wheels. It is all about doing what others have done in the art of war. IS IT NOT TIME FOR THE NIGERIAN ARMY TO HAVE IT OWN DEDICATED NIGERIAN ARMY AIR CORP? IT IS ALSO NECCESSARY TO REMOVE THE ADMINSTRATIVE ASPECT OF THE MILITARY FROM THE HANDS OF THE GENERAL STAFF LET THEM CONCENTRATE ON OPERATIONS. the idea that their salaries or allowances or food has to go through one general or the other is for me, very antiquated. It is just plain common sense considering how much bureaucracy you experience even in a space as small as a single room office. |
Sagay has no time for nonsense and he calls it as he sees it. Sagay is one of the very few intellectual in Nigeria who puts is view out there regardless of whose Ox is gored. Where your elites are absent without leave on major national issues, Sagay has always been on the frontlines in the fight for what is just and what is right. His exasperation is over the lack of objectivity in the petulant attitudes originating from the east. Why exactly are you angry over what he said? Even Kalu himself admitted live on radio that someone gave him $1 million immediately after the elections. $1 million is no small change. The Nigerians abroad will tell you that. On his fight for his people, urbobo or isobo as we yorubas call them in our native language , the isobos have always been nationalistic. Who else should fight their battles if not those who are well placed to do so. Where the itshekiris show their nationalism by being very protective of their land, the urbobo show their nationalism by fighting to be self governing. This is a question a true sovereign national conference will answer. THIS IS ITSE SAGAY GIVING IT TO EKITI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_729np9NLk |
What do you for a living? " I am a contractor " only in Nigeria do you get ccontractor as a profession. |
Haha The rats of jumping from a sinking ship |
I am tired of reading long theories. How are you supposed to build institutions when our values set different. Your politicians swear by Koran and Bible. Why are the not bound by or afraid of their oath. You know what? Institutions are built on shared values, shared culture, history and local philosophy. Take an harmless calabash with orange, tomatoes and periwinkle. Put chicken feathers around that calabash and tell those politicians to say their oath by swearing by their own children. My take is that they will be shitting in their pant even though that calabash means nothings. Nigeria will never progress. Now and again, You will get that president who will make minor improvements here and there, only to be followed by someone like Jonathan when will take it backwards again. If only the writer knows the battle the left of developed world are currently fighting to save what is left of their democracy. Their battles are based on their humanist values. |
Abacha used security votes and Ajaokuta steel complex to steal. |
What did you do with the money when oil prices were high? Nothing? Only remittance from the diaspora is saving Nigeria right now. You can shout transformation agenda as much as you can, Nigeria clock has been turned back by Jonathan and Iweala straight back to 1982. |
Bayelsa is a basket case. Dickson o, Silva o, two brothers from the same incompetent father. Was this not the same state where they used to award vote numbers of over 1 million a few years ago? |
