PoliticsRe: Nigerians React To Fashola's 3 Ministerial Posts On Twitter by oduastates: 4:41pm On Nov 11, 2015
Fashola would have to be creative in sourcing revenues to fund projects.
One thing I know is that he is going to prioritise most the project.
I am sure that Roads like East-West, West-northcentral, Northwest -north east, East -central and East-northeast are going to tagged tier 1.
Personally I will suggest that they simply do remedial work on those Roads, while devoting as much resources as they can find on power.
Amaechi should also prioritise cargo over people in the railways sector.
Removing most those trucks from the roads will be a good thing.
Make those cargo trains journeys terminate outside city limits while devoting the lines within city limits to mass-transit of people.
This way, you can have train journeys within e.g lagos, lasting no more than 45 min
Like yaba to agege. 20 mins. The train turns around, and reverse the journey.

rabosh:
This is totally irresponsible journalism. Can a governor be declared incompetent with just 6 months in office? Is traffic management the only parameter to judge a governor? They make it look as if there wasn't traffic gridlock under Fashola's government. How does Ambode's attempt to make LASTMA civil a sign of incompetence? Anyone who lives in Lagos knows that the reasons given by the governor are true and cogent.

We all complained bitterly at the early days of Fashola's government, let's cut Ambode some slack. He seems open to criticism which is good and will definitely help him get better.

I am not holding brief for the governor but I think we have the worst commissioner of police in Lagos.
In a state like Lagos , yes.
Worsening traffic , crime ,refuse are enough to judge.
It might sound jolly to reduce the enforcement powers of LASTMA but the repercussions are costing him dearly.
With the low salaries being paid , what did he think was going to happen .
It is obvious that they augment their salaries with illegal fines .
To get the ideal effect , those LASTMA would have to be paid at least N 200,000 a month. That is the level of salary I believe people stop getting bent all the time.
I guess that he simply woke up one day without considering the impact .

However, the background story/history and demographics of these countries are different from Nigeria. It is better to have a small and functioning country, than a big for nothing shyte that Nigeria is.

I won't talk much about Brazil cos it is similar to America. Slave and slave owners, with few natives. And according to racial classification, Brazil is about 90% white cos the Pardos see themselves more as Caucasians until recently.

Let me start with India. There is a reason why the old India was divided into two: India and Pakistan. And Pakistan also got divided into two: Pakistan and Bangladesh. The current India is predominantly Indo-European and they're mostly Hindus and Sikhs - hence there is caste system there. Also, it's easy to govern cos the Indo-Europeans control everything. I won't even call India a shinning example cos it still has a long way to go, but they're getting there and they have the right structure to turn their fortunes around.

With China, the country is over 90% Han Chinese, with a civilisation that is over 3,000 years old. And despite the fact the they are basically the same, you can't move from one region to live in a next region in China without permit. Hence it is easy to govern. Same people, same language, same religion and within a structure that enhances evenly distributed developments everywhere.

Now let's talk about Nigeria: apart from only having huge population in common with these other countries - what else do they have in common? I'm not against having a big country that can actually work/prosper...but once you analyse Nigeria properly, it lacks everything required for a big country to prosper. I would like you and/or anyone to cite any country in the world, with the same ethnic demographic as Nigeria - where three groups are almost the same size, and with evenly divided religions that has ever prospered. Once I see one, I will start supporting Nigeria with everything I have.

I just want to see a black country that is actually working, no matter how small it is, in my lifetime.
Even the European union is tearing itself apart based on ethnic consideration.

I thought I was the only one who saw that. But I don't really talk about it cos you can't wish death on a man, who's the leader of a country.

They saw what happened with Yar Adua and don't want the same thing to repeat itself, hence they positioned all their foot soldiers where they need to be, should old age catch up with the incumbent. Hence I laugh all the time when these APC clowns allude to Tinubu playing some type of game to unseat Saraki and that the rise Saraki has nothing to do with Buhari and the Northern hegemony - wishful thinking. The Yoruba leaders of the Apc are smart men, they have been there before (june 12) and there is a reason why they nominated heavy weight for every position they got.
Fashola, fayemi, osinbajo, fowler, lai, no matter what, these men will be the shining light of this administration.

Tinubu is not stupid, he chose a fragile, old and maybe honest Buhari (remember his fellow elite fulani never wanted him as president)

Kwankwoso's recent outburst and Quimicababes's revelation about a top fulani elite, shows how scared these people are.

2019 is going to be very interesting, Tinubu is a patient smart fellow

This is exactly why ours are different from the SE.

Darn!! Ijesha folks are great merchants and warriors - salute!

Osun is blessed but poor based on the revenue the state generates and what it gets from the FG. But I think the governor needs to focus more on tourism cos a lot of Yorubas in the new world go there for festivals. There are over 80 million folks practising Yoruba religions in South America and the Caribbean alone and a lot of those folks look towards to all these Osun festivals. Now imagine what will happen if the state governor can make these festivals world class events and create awareness about them everywhere.

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led
government has approved the construction of the
$2.4 billion Lagos red line rail project.
According to Lagos State Commissioner for
Transportation, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, approving
the right of way for the project had been a
problem for donkey’s years as the Federal
Government in the previous administration was
reluctant to do so.
Bear in mind, the right of way belonged to the
Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC.
“It took us four and half years to get approval for
the project. It took us another four years to get
them to discuss the technicality of the project
with us. The right-of-way has been approved and
we are in full discussion with the bidders,” he
said.
Speaking on the Blue Line Light Rail project, the
commissioner said the government would
complete it by the end of next year.
“We are mindful of the problem of transportation
in Lagos State. Towards the end of next year,
something will happen. Our rail project is 27 km
and we are doing it in phases. We are doing Mile
2 to CMS now and we will do Mile 2 to
Okokomaiko later,” he said.
It was part of the bad belle ism of Jonathan that git him kicked out.
He had nothing to show for the $500 billion earned during his term.
I hope they are not putting all their eggs on this light rail project.
You still need the conventional rail to do the heavy lifting even within cities

Ancient Arabs Views on Blacks.
Those Still remains the same

Zanj (Arabic: زنج, "Land of the Blacks" or "Land of the Negroes"[1]) was a name used by medieval Arab geographers to refer to both a certain portion of the coast of East Africa and its inhabitants, Bantu-speaking peoples

"We know that the Zanj (blacks) are the least intelligent and the least discerning of mankind, and the least capable of understanding the consequences of actions Jahiz (d. 868 AD), Kitab al-Bukhala'

"Galen says that merriment dominates the black man because of his defective brain. , whence also the weakness of his intelligence." Mas`udi (d. 956 AD), Muruj al-dhahab

"The Zanj are so uncivilized that they have no notion of a natural death. If a man dies a natural death, they think he was poisoned. Every death is suspicious with them , if a man has not been killed By a weapon." Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, India, 1030 AD

About the Zanj: "Their nature is that of wild animals. They are extremely black." About the Sudan: "Among themselves there are people who steal each other's children and sell them to the merchants when the latter arrive." Hudud al-`Alam, 982 AD

"If (all types of men) are taken, from the first, and one placed after another, like the Negro from Zanzibar, in the Southern-most countries, the Negro does not differ from an animal in anything except the fact that his hands have been lifted from the earth ,--in no other peculiarity or property,--except for what God wished. Many have seen that the ape is more capable of being trained than the Negro, and more intelligent." Philosopher-theologian Nasir al-Din Tusi (1201-74), Tasawwurat

"Therefore, the Negro nation are, as a rule, submissive to slavery, because [Negroes] have little [that is essentially] human and have attributes that are quite similar to those of dumb animals, as we have stated." Ibn Khaldun, Muqaddimah, 14th century AD

"A amadani, Mukhtasa

"beyond [known peoples of black West Africa] to the south there is no civilization in the proper sense. There are only humans who are closer to dumb animals than to rational beings. They live in thickets and caves, and eat herbs and unprepared grain. They frequently eat each other. They cannot be considered human beings." Ibn Khaldun, Muqaddimah

"The Zanj are slight-witted (kam 'aql), and God, most high, has created them stupid, ignorant, and foul (palid)." anonymous, Iskandarnamah, 1343 AD

Many in the Yoruba leadership and pretenders are shortsighted and outrageously vain and greedy.
That is why I regard the tinubus Fasholas and the rest as transitional leaders. The Falaes ( Babangida's boy boy)no? non leaders and impostors.
So why do I call them shortsighted, they are essentially making the same mistake that Awo made by investing so much in Nigeria when it is clear that the country is doomed.
people like shymxx can see the failures because they are removed from the madness but most are used to it because they leave in that filth.
Why is there no standing and organised yoruba self determination group overseas at home especially when you look at the current trajectory of the country. A country where law and order has collapsed(a failed state). A country where minorities and animist in the middle belt and North East are being cleansed off their land.

From the pictures I've seen, they look more like your vain-glorious politicians
A true yoruba and a custodian of our yoruba tradition, culture and civilisation will never borrow the name of facist religions which which are subordinates of the one handed down by our forefathers.

Like I said in one of my post. There are no kings anymore.
There are over 80 million Active practitioners of the yoruba religion in the Americas alone, yet we have Mumu king running to to the middle east to bow to stones in the name of those 2 religion.
Even leaving the spiritual aspect, let us consider the economic imperatives for a rebirth and reawakening of our religion .
The ooni ( the spiritual custodian of the yoruba religion) and the alaafin ( the economic and military custodian are being short sighted. Imagine what places like ife and oyo will gain from prestige, tourism and pilgrimages. Foreigners are not coming in numbers because the foreign practitioners consider the kings as people who are not serious.
The ooni died and nobody knew. Not a whisper beyond the borders of the country because they have rendered their positions as insignificant.A damage that is self inflicted. Running after shady contracts when the potential derivable income from homage, tourism and pilgrimages is in geometric terms, multiples of that.

The yoruba calendar is just one of a few calendars in the world. It is our invention, it is very accurate, it shows the ingenuity of our people, it shows out civilisation predates and was ahead of even those who colonised us, yet our Mumu leaders and Kings do not celebrate what they have ( Another high level reason why Fashola, tinubu and co will never be leaders of the yorubas)
The yoruba new year starts on June 4 .
The Chinese celebrate their own new year.
The Ethiopian celebrate theirs.
We celebrate and worship invented foreign sstones.
Look around you, the result is there for you to see.
A beaten, poverty blighted people who are less civilised than their so called illiterate fore fathers who could.
People queuing for rice to sell their future. The food our forefathers regarded as not healthy and fed to goat, sheeps, pigs and hens. Our so called illiterate forefather
