Dude, buzz off. I have little time for emotional arguments they always lead to stup!dity:

-Nnamdi Azikiwe, Fragments of Onitsha History. The Journal of Negro History (The Journal of Negro History, Vol. 15, No. 4) 15 (4): 474)
Whenever an Igbo man or woman is involved, their replies are automatically labelled "emotional" and "sentimental" regardless, am I right? Nothing in my post had a tinge of emotion not to talk of sentiment, but digress. My point to you is that you should never say things about a group or groups you are not familiar with (such as the Igbos). Your knowledge of ethnic and cultural history, based on what I've seen does not exceed Delta State.
CultureRe: How Much Land Did The Ijaws Give Other Niger Delta Groups And When? by odumchi(mod): 2:17am On Sep 15, 2011
Igbo migrated west across the Niger River it is not the other way around. Anioma and Anambra subgroups are not from the Bini empire and share no blood ties nor did they originate from there. The Igbo people's of Anambra existed prior to the Edo city states and migrated southward and westward.

No Igbo town was directly or indirectly or produced from Bini. If you wish to speak of Agbor, the people of Agbor and the Ikas are Igbos who
Migrated from east of the Niger and settled in what is today Delta State. Agbor does have significant Bini influence in that it bordered the extremes of the then Bini empire but it was not founded by an Edo or etc.
Words such as Oba, Obi etc does not necessarily mean that a kingdom came from the other. Certain languages are influenced by equally Significant neighbors and words/ideas are shared between the two. Such as Oseblua means virtually the same thing in Igbo and Edo (correct me if I'm wrong).

So please when speaking only speak about what you're sure of and of what concerns your people not mine. Thank you

Nice one.

The fortunate thing about the Niger Delta is that each ethnic group in the area has strong oral traditions, most of which I am privy to in some detail (I am being too modest wink).
Even of greater use is that the non-Ijaw among us can look down the Ijaw timeline of their history. They have the most stunningly detailed history of any of the Delta state ND groups. Where we might not be satisfied with an Ijaw story (the Itsekiri's wouldn't ever), we can always reach back to the annals of the Benin empire; all Delta state ND ethnic groups aside from the Ijaw were outposts of the Benin empire, cos we all came from there (or passed through).
There is a lot of rich history we can look to that will categorically establish dates and times in such a way that we can get to understand why the various landmark court cases in Warri have been won and lost and why every group has its own king, legally established in law.
You see that's where I don't agree with you. Ibibios are Niger Deltans and have no connection with the Edos. Igbo subgroups in Delta and Rivers also did not come from the Edos. What I'm trying to say is that your concept/theory of how things came to be is wrong. Ethnic groups don't form overnight and a people do not switch from land-based agriculture to riverine traditions in a matter of centuries.

Let Bini end and Bini. Those who want to claim Bini affiliation are welcome.

PoliticsRe: UN To Recommend China's 'One Child' Policy To Nigeria by odumchi: 12:46am On Sep 14, 2011
Obasanjo stole N3.5 billion and back then it was equivalent to nearly 10 billion dollars. So 200 billion is an understatement. Nigeria probably makes 300 or 400 billion dollars. 380 billion of that is oil money while the rest is agriculture, other exports, etc.

Now cut that number by half and that's the amount that actually gets into the gov's hands after the finds have been looted. Divide that into 4 and 1/4 of it is spent on poorly planned projects. Now the remaining into half and half is used to pay the salaries of all government officials. Now share the remaining among 36 states. smiley

PoliticsRe: Libyans Killing Nigerians (pics). by odumchi: 5:36am On Sep 11, 2011
Libya although it speaks Arabic is not ethnically Arab they are Berbers. Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya are Berber while Morroco is Mamluk. Egypt however is Arab.

I doubt the valadility of those photos. Libya's population is only 6 and a half million. How many sub-saharan Africans are there not to talk of Nigerians? And how can such be happening with UN and foreign presence?

Besides what motive do the Libyans have for doing this? They are a néw nation with a new government looking for recognition so they can't be doing this. Its not possible.

Trying to know French,Fulani and ibibio.can anyone help?

Want to learn Igbo, will teach you Fulfulde (Fulani), Trade by batter kooo? grin grin grin

Lets start with this in Fulfulde. The language is fulfulde of the Fulani tribe.

Jam wali , (Good morning)
Jam nyalli, (Good evening)
Jam wala, (Good night)
Toi iftuda? (where are you from)
Hofnu sare (Greet home i.e greet family)
Mi yetti (thank you)

Counting figures in Fulfulde is by multiplications and additions, (Fulanis are great mathematicians) huh huh
The figures are only 1 to 5, and 10, like this, (1=go'o, 2=Didi, 3=Tati, 4=Nai, 5=Joi, 10=sappo) Others are
6=je'ego (5+1),
7=je'edidi (5+2)
9=je'enai) (5+4)

Here comes the maths, 38=sappan e tati, e je'e tati {reads as (10x3) + (5+3)}
47=sappan e nai, je'e nai {read it as (10x4) + (5+2)
That's how it goes to infinity, see my point about mathemaatisc? grin grin grin

Siutu jam, (take rest i.e bye-bye)

What about in Igbo?
Home.Igbonet.com is a good site for learning Igbo.

Igbo mathematics:

1+1=2 olu yeya olu bu abuo

7-6=1 Asa wepu iso bu olu

7x2=14 Asa ugbo abuo bu iri na ano

Igbo greetings:

Greetings=kedu, ndewo

Good morning=ututu Oma
Good afternoon=Ukori oma
Good Evening= mgbe abali oma
Good night=Kachifo
Response to good night= ka obo

@Odumchi,you got that but what about within same town?what explanation wud you give for the L/N variants?

Arochukwu uses bothhuh
Yes people in Arochukwu use both "l" and "n" for certain words such as "ekene"  and a few other words. However it is restricted. We don't say Ani (land) or uno (house). For the vast  majority of words we substitue "n" for "l".
CultureRe: Nairaland Official Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba Dictionary by odumchi(mod): 7:04pm On Sep 10, 2011
I think the difference between Kanu/Kalu is just a matter of dialectal preference.

There are many other names like this such as:

Anicho/Alicho
Uloma/Unoma
Okoro/Okolo

I suspect that the "l" originated from southern Igboland while the "n" originates from northern and western Igboland. For example Wawa people say "Enugwu" where as my people would say "Elugwu". Ukwuani people say "Anioma" whereas my people would say "Alioma".
