Great Britain wants to secure a steady debtor! If our officials are smart, they'll simply keep their hands in their pockets. |
Utakas been playing since the 90s and needs to make room for younger and fresher players, although he was brilliant in his day. |
Beaf:Whenever an Igbo man or woman is involved, their replies are automatically labelled "emotional" and "sentimental" regardless, am I right? Nothing in my post had a tinge of emotion not to talk of sentiment, but digress. My point to you is that you should never say things about a group or groups you are not familiar with (such as the Igbos). Your knowledge of ethnic and cultural history, based on what I've seen does not exceed Delta State. |
Igbo migrated west across the Niger River it is not the other way around. Anioma and Anambra subgroups are not from the Bini empire and share no blood ties nor did they originate from there. The Igbo people's of Anambra existed prior to the Edo city states and migrated southward and westward. No Igbo town was directly or indirectly or produced from Bini. If you wish to speak of Agbor, the people of Agbor and the Ikas are Igbos who Migrated from east of the Niger and settled in what is today Delta State. Agbor does have significant Bini influence in that it bordered the extremes of the then Bini empire but it was not founded by an Edo or etc. Words such as Oba, Obi etc does not necessarily mean that a kingdom came from the other. Certain languages are influenced by equally Significant neighbors and words/ideas are shared between the two. Such as Oseblua means virtually the same thing in Igbo and Edo (correct me if I'm wrong). So please when speaking only speak about what you're sure of and of what concerns your people not mine. Thank you |
Donlittle:He even wrote it in uppercase lol ![]() |
Beaf:You see that's where I don't agree with you. Ibibios are Niger Deltans and have no connection with the Edos. Igbo subgroups in Delta and Rivers also did not come from the Edos. What I'm trying to say is that your concept/theory of how things came to be is wrong. Ethnic groups don't form overnight and a people do not switch from land-based agriculture to riverine traditions in a matter of centuries. Let Bini end and Bini. Those who want to claim Bini affiliation are welcome. |

Obasanjo stole N3.5 billion and back then it was equivalent to nearly 10 billion dollars. So 200 billion is an understatement. Nigeria probably makes 300 or 400 billion dollars. 380 billion of that is oil money while the rest is agriculture, other exports, etc. Now cut that number by half and that's the amount that actually gets into the gov's hands after the finds have been looted. Divide that into 4 and 1/4 of it is spent on poorly planned projects. Now the remaining into half and half is used to pay the salaries of all government officials. Now share the remaining among 36 states. ![]() |
This isn't the appropriate place to post that. Make a thread in the romance section and you will be sure to get reasonable assistance/advise. |

Libya although it speaks Arabic is not ethnically Arab they are Berbers. Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya are Berber while Morroco is Mamluk. Egypt however is Arab. I doubt the valadility of those photos. Libya's population is only 6 and a half million. How many sub-saharan Africans are there not to talk of Nigerians? And how can such be happening with UN and foreign presence? Besides what motive do the Libyans have for doing this? They are a néw nation with a new government looking for recognition so they can't be doing this. Its not possible. |
This guy might even be worse than Orji Uzor Kalu. |
^^^ Hausa is the most spoken second language in NGA. Nearly everyone in the north can speak it so I don't know what you mean, |
Abuloma80:Home.Igbonet.com is a good site for learning Igbo. Igbo mathematics: 1+1=2 olu yeya olu bu abuo 7-6=1 Asa wepu iso bu olu 7x2=14 Asa ugbo abuo bu iri na ano Igbo greetings: Greetings=kedu, ndewo Good morning=ututu Oma Good afternoon=Ukori oma Good Evening= mgbe abali oma Good night=Kachifo Response to good night= ka obo |
Ileke-IdI:Then you're Hausa! |
ifyalways:Yes people in Arochukwu use both "l" and "n" for certain words such as "ekene" and a few other words. However it is restricted. We don't say Ani (land) or uno (house). For the vast majority of words we substitue "n" for "l". |
I think the difference between Kanu/Kalu is just a matter of dialectal preference. There are many other names like this such as: Anicho/Alicho Uloma/Unoma Okoro/Okolo I suspect that the "l" originated from southern Igboland while the "n" originates from northern and western Igboland. For example Wawa people say "Enugwu" where as my people would say "Elugwu". Ukwuani people say "Anioma" whereas my people would say "Alioma". |
@ Abuloma Its not too late! |
I speak Igbo, English, and Pidgin fluently while I know a little Ibibio. |
