Why do people hate GEJ? Seriously, it's something I don't get. I've seen many posts in which people speak carelessly about Mr.President. Honestly if you can't give enough respect to the man answering "Mr.President" why do you expect him/her to do any work? People really need to stop the foolish complaining because living a "term to term" lifestyle doesn't pay. What I mean by this is that certain people will always frustrate the hell of the president and await till the next term to choose someone who is "better" and also frustrate the he'll out of him too. How can you expect a man to do something good for you when all you do is act as an obstacle to his every move? It seems that the title "Mr. President" cannot be respected even though GEJ is the best thing to happen to Nigeria since the days of Azikiwe in terms of leadership. Honestly, I'm tired of whining and crying, GEJ is the president whether you like it or not. You better side with him and help "oil the stiff gears of progress" rather than destroy the "rails." Please I know everyone has a different opinion when it comes to GEJ, and that's fine, but atleast show some support for your president. I don't know whether its because he's Ijaw, or an Easterner, or the first ex Biafran to become president, but I'd like to know the cause. Insults and bigotry aren't needed. ![]() |
The main reason why we bear Western Names is that when the first Europeans arrived at our settlements, they asked: "What is your name?" and we answered: "My name is Obinna (Not my name) Nwa Anicho". The European then proceeded in saying "Your name is not valid, you must select a valid 'Judeo-Christian' name" and thus we initially began answering names like: Jacob, John, Moses, Abraham, Sarah, Andrew, Jonathan, Jeremiah and etc. |
Don't be mistaken, Abia and Imo produce oil howeve a substaintial amount o fit is untapped. Anambra however produces little oil but has large amounts of natural gas and mineral resources. @Topic: Lagos cannot secede because it simply does not thave the resources. 1) A sizeable and well-armed military will be needed to persuade the Nigerian armed forces that a fight for Lagos would be costly both in human terms and natural. 2) Lagos cannot feed itself. With over 17 million people, Lagos needs a steady supply of food and water from mainland Nigeria, and if the sea is blockaded, then Lagosians will starve. 3) Lagos is simply too large a city to survive on its own. Most of the city-states that declare independence are small with populations ranging from 500-3 million (Look at Luxembourg, San Marino, and the Papal States). People require a constant supply of food, water, shelter and entertainment. However Lagos does have a large port system, its not large enough to accomodate to the needs of all of those people. |
Heres a perfect example.

Hey, Mukina. I am interested in moderating this section and would like to do my bit to help keep NL clean. Thanks |
The main reason the capital was moved from Lagos to Abuja was security. After Murtula Mohammed was assasinated in Lgos in the 1970's they decided to move it to a more peaceful city and covered it up. Now Abuja is no longer peaceful where else to run? Actually, I'd prefer the capital to stay in the North. I wouldn't like to see the hustle and bustle of politicians and the presidential buzz around the Eastern part of Nigeria (ND). |
Boko Haram members arent being trained in Afghanistan and Algeria. Such a thought doesnt even make sense. How many black Africans are there in Afghanistan and Algeria? Most likely, they are being trained in Chad. Chad is the most reasonable answer because the Nigerian-Chad border is neglected and Chadians can easily cross the Chad lake and enter Borno State Nigeria by boat. This explains why many bombings are in Maiduguri. Besides if they were being trained in Algeria they would have been entering through the NW and causing trouble there instead of the NE. And also, such activities do not require high0tech training. Any man can easily strap a homemade bomb across his chest under his garments. |

I dont see what the prostitution thing has to do with this but my point is since it is Child abuse maybe you should go out there and sell the moi moi for them. You have to realize that they are only helping themsleves, beside its not as if their work is lethal or etc. Im notin support of this either but what else can these kids do to help their families? |
Pweety4me:Oh ok, I see. And no it really isnt my business just wondering based on what I saw ![]() |
eGuerrilla:Maybe you should donate all of your wealth to their parents so they dont have to work. You are only happy when these children are iddle and starving right? This is only hard honest work. If you cannot do anything about their condition then you have no right to call it child abuse. |
Personally, I think the child should take up both. He or she should learn the languages and cultures of both parents. Such a task isnt impossible since I know a few people who are of mixed ethnic origin (Yoruba father + Igbo mother) and still speak the native languages of both parents fluently and are very well educated baout the customs and traditions of both ethnicities. |
^^^ I prefer people speak for themselves on matters concerning a whole ethnic group. |
