PoliticsRe: Umahi Condemns Renaming Of Abakaliki Street In Anambra by ogahug: 8:25am On Jun 20, 2018
This is apathied in Igboland. I passed through UNIZIK and was was highly respected on campus due to my commitments. However, Anambra denied me marriage to the first ever girl I proposed to, all because, I came from Ebonyi and we are considered inferior to them. I jejelly withdrew and God gave me a beautiful God fearing Queen from my town in whom I am fulfilled. It the same God that provided Saul as King that removed him and provided a better one, David.
Imagine, changing the name of a street from Abakaliki (name of a capital city) to club road. What a misplaced priority. Tomorrow, they will look for Afikpo road or Ebonyi avenue and name it " akwunakwuna" road to show their hatred for Ebonyians. For every hatred shown Ebonyians, we still come out better.

My Son's School Fees Is N1.2million For Just 2 Months -mompha Slams Critics

Nigerian big boy, Mompha, who bought his 6-year-old son a house as a birthday gift, has slammed critics who stormed his page to advice him.

Recall that few days ago, Mompha announced on his Instagram page that he bought his son a house. He wrote;

Owning your own home is one of the best feelings ever. It cant be described in words, it cant be quantitied in money. Home ownership is a feeling that makes life’s daily grind worth facing It reassures you that after all the ups and downs you have a place to go to.... A place that will never judge you and always invite you with open arms... Congrats My Son on ur New Home. Ur birthday Gift From Daddy . Purchased From Uncle @classicbaggieThanks bro i owe u alot  #BOBOTHEYOUNGLANDLORD #OBO

Some of his critics told him to give his son a quality education, than engaging in asset acquisition for his son. Replying his critics, Mompha wrote;

Some monkeys saying give him the best education instead of buyin him a house mumu people, bobo is having the best education in his life. The receipt I post is just 2months school fees for May and June about 1.2million naira, wetin be una problem

https://lailasnews.com/my-sons-school-fees-is-n1-2-million-naira-for-just-2-months-mompha-slams-critics/
That is not a problem to me. When I was in secondary school, our fee was just N64:00 only in my state model school but a commissioner in state, then, sent his son to Igbenedium secondary school where the fee was N50,000. I got all my papers in one WAEC sitting but not so with his. I got admission into a Federal University by merit but he into a State University by connection.
My point is that I prefer a good competitive public school to over hyped private schools without competition.

I know another child that the parents paid about a million naira fee in primary school, then about N40,000 for a private lesson teacher, yet, the boy was just a good definition of "olodo". However, the boy can virtually tell you the names of almost all the musicians in the world and their songs as well as almost all the football players and their details, but is that what all those huge fees are for?

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N10.7billion for the establishment of 10 new rice mills.

This was disclosed yesterday by the Ministers of State for Agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri after the Council’s meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Lokpobiri said that the Council approved the 10 rice mills with the capacity to produce 100 tonnes per day, and the mills would be managed by private rice millers.

“Today the Federal Executive Council approved the establishment of 10 very large rice mills to enhance the milling capacity of rice value chain in the country.

“Few years ago it was reported that this country needs a minimum of 100 large rice mills. As of today we have about 21 but Federal Government in its wisdom decided that today we should approve the establishment of 10 at the total cost of N10.7billion.

“These would be given to the sector to manage which they will be pay back within a given timeframe as it would be agreed between the Bank of Agriculture and the Rice Millers,’’ he said.

According to the minister, the mills will be located in Kebbi, Zamfara, Benue, Kogi, Bayelsa, Anambra, Kaduna, Ogun, Niger and Bauchi states.

Which of the states produce rice more than Ebonyi or is this another extension of "land port"?
BusinessRe: Diasporans Remit $22 Billion In 2017 by ogahug: 2:31pm On Apr 24, 2018
Truth234:
Nigerians living outside the country remitted $22 billion in 2107, according to the data published by the World Bank on Monday. The amount is 16.4 percent higher than the amount sent home in 2016.

The total amount sent home reached a new record-high in 2017, however, the costs of transferring funds also surged, the report noted. The better than expected rebound in remittances, used in supporting economic activities in poor nations, was bolstered by growth in the United States, Europe, and Russia.

Also, the total remittances to low and middle-income nations rose from $429 billion in 2016 to $466 billion in 2017, an increase of 8.5 percent. While remittance inflows improved in all regions, the largest inflows were from India with $69bn, followed by China ($64bn), the Philippines ($33bn), Mexico ($31bn), Nigeria ($22bn), and Egypt ($20bn) in 2017.

The global average cost of sending $200 was put at 7.1 percent in the first quarter of 2018, and sub-Saharan Africa remains the most expensive at an average cost of 9.4 percent.

“While remittances are growing, countries, institutions, and development agencies must continue to chip away at high costs of remitting so that families receive more of the money,” said Dilip Ratha, lead author of the report.

By region, Europe and Central Asia saw the largest jump in 2017, rising by 21 percent, while Sub-Saharan Africa climbed by 11 percent in the same year.

Most of the money came from IPOB supporters abroad. That amount is going to drop this year following the proscription of IPOB.

1) Controls treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and for industrial use: Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treating plant.
2) Dumps specified amounts of chemicals, such as chlorine, ammonia, and lime into water or adjusts automatic devices that admit specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water.
3) Starts agitators to mix chemicals and allows impurities to settle to bottom of tank.
4) Turns valves to regulate water through filter beds to remove impurities.
5) Pumps purified water into water mains.
6) Monitors panel board and adjusts controls to regulate flow rates, loss of head pressure and water elevation, and distribution of water.
7) Cleans tanks and filter beds, using back washing.
cool Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
9) Tests water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities, using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter.
10) Adds chemicals such, as alum into tanks to coagulate impurities and to reduce acidity.
11) Records data, such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure.
12) May operate portable water-purification plant to supply drinking water.
Good answer. However, the without the word PH, something is missing. It is an important technical word that must not miss out. Moreover, being a steel factory, the water so treated is likely not for consumption but for safety of the environment when disposed. The water for treatment is likely the one that had passed through the system as a coolant which is often mixed with some chemicals to achieve purpose better.

Chief Musiliu Obanikoro has officially decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Reports of Obanikoro's movement to the ruling party has been simmering for months now until today when he was officially recognized as a member at a small rally in Lagos.

Present at the rally was Lagos senator, Gbenga Ashafa who wrote the following message on social media;

I welcome my brother @MObanikoro back home to our great party @APCNigeria. The APC in Lagos is stronger and more united. APC!!!

BounceNigeria:
Argentina captain Lionel Messi will not play against the Super Eagles when both sides clash in an international friendly on November 14.

However, Messi will play the friendly against Russia on November 11 at the reopening of the Luzhnikí stadium in Moscow.

Argentina coaching crew, headed by Jorge Sampaoli, will allow the striker fly out of Moscow after the first friendly, to get enough time to rest before returning to club duties.

The rest of the Argentina squad will head to Krasnodar, where they will play against Nigeria on November 14.

This same scenario happened in the Albiceleste's last international friendlies against Brazil (June 9) and Singapore (June 13), when Messi went the distance against the Seleção but was omitted from the matchday squad against the Asians.

Meanwhile, Sampaoli has called up Emiliano Insúa to replace Lucas Biglia, who suffered from an inflammation in the patellar tendon of his left knee.

When Super Eagle beats them 3-0 they will say, it was because Messi did not play.

The question seeks to break the figure into the PLACE VALUES of each digit of the figure. The question does not seek to know the different ways to sum up figures to get 300; otherwise, we'll be looking at permutations and combinations. The topic on place values occurs in the curriculum up to secondary school level.
CultureRe: Chidinma Or Chidimma? by ogahug: 9:11pm On Oct 29, 2017
It is chidimma not chidinma.
In Igbo, N and M are not found in a word.
Mma is a word.
But can only be seen in a 'phrasal-word' like oMe-Na-ala.
N and M behave like vowel but they are not vowel in Igbo language (ie myiri-udaume).
My dear, you learnt Igbo language well in secondary school. I made A1 in Igbo in my SSCE and I can affirm most assuredly and even ready to bet my cert that you are correct. Q E D.

However, if you must travel, then budget about N5000 on bike to move from Eleme junction to Refinery junction and vice versa. Secondly, you must be physically fit to trek in case the bike gets stuck too. Thirdly, you must not carry any load beyond the weight you can carry to trek about 5km. If you drive your car, then your name is sorry. If you fail to heed this, then, you will regret.

FamilyRe: She Told Me A Very Dark Secret, Should I Still Marry Her? by ogahug: 1:10pm On Jul 22, 2017
Nerdg:
She told me of being pregnant and later had a stillbirth at the 7months.

The background.
I met her when we were teens and have always loved her. She refused me sex and along the line, her neighbor gave me (who is her relation). She learnt about this and we had our first break up.
We both got admission into different universities and couldn't see again.
We later met again and settled with a condition that there would be no sex. This didn't go down well with me and I called it off. This repeated and there was even a time I walked her out of my house because of this issue and didn't give her tfare. My house is like 1hr drive from where she lives.
The issue:
I love this girl to the extent that anytime I thought of getting married, she will come to mind.
Now I have a good job and she's done with school. I proposed to her and she accepted it.
Is about 3 months now, she came on my birthday 3 months ago. That was all. She doesn't come always because she stays with her elder brother and can't leave house just like that.

Note, we haven't had sex till now.

About 2 weeks ago, I told her about how I got a girl pregnant and we had to abort it and that since then I haven't been myself. That it pains me to this day. We talked about it and she was sorry over it.

Yesterday, we had a very deep discussion and she revealed to me that she had a relationship at school. They were together for 4yrs. I then asked her if she had ever missed her period. She said yes. But not to this school boyfriend but another man. She wanted to keep the pregnancy but her parents refused because the guy is not a good person. The guy wanted the pregnancy but her family didn't want the guy to marry her. She finally had a stillbirth at the 7th month.

I was stunned. I know she's not a virgin, she told me but I was confused. Sex had always been our problem and I never expected that she had experienced something like this. Now she asked me that she hope she won't regret telling me this. I told her no that she won't regret but I'm stunned.

Please should I still go on with this marriage?
Her getting pregnant must have been a regrettable mistake to her. However, she was courageous to keep the pregnancy though she suffered a still birth.

Guy, if you love her and you are at home with her virtues, then go for her and marry her without any delay. She has just scored 'A' in sincerity which is very good. I sincerely commend her for refusing you sex when you made advances on her because if she had yielded you would have impregnated her, aborted the baby and dumped her. You are only considering her now because she looks chaste. Maybe God actually allowed all that passed to make her available for you today. If you leave, then you will go and look for another Angel somewhere else.

Ekiti State Governor , Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the hurried trip to London by First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari was a confirmation that President Muhammadu Buhari’s health had deteriorated, saying that Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said the governor, who addressed some journalists in Lagos on Monday, insisted that;
“It is six days since I addressed the press and today, I still insist that the President is indeed on life-support.”
“The worsen condition of the President’s health necessitated the hurried trip of our First Lady, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari to London and it is hoped that she will have the courage to tell Nigerians the truth this time around.”
No one is interested in President Buhari’s death. Rather, we are interested in freeing Nigeria from the hands of these few individuals who are presently holding the country to ransom.”
Governor Fayose, who maintained that President Buhari must resign, said;
“Today is the 184th day of 2017. Out of these 184 days, our President has spent 107 days abroad taking care of his health.

“How does a nation move forward when its President is spending the better part of his time abroad for Medicare? “For how long can Nigeria and its people wait for a President who is incapacitated? For how long can our people continue to suffer just because some people want to hold on to power at all cost? “That was the reason I raised the issue of President Buhari’s age, health and mental capacity in 2015 and warned against electing President him.”

Speaking further, the governor said;
