I wish to seize this particular opportunity and forum to appreciate the recent giant strides the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have made in the anti-corruption war. It was very spontaneous and effective, to the extent that some culprits did not believe what they saw, they had to ask the judge: "you mean am now a prisoner?" If I may say, I think more of such questions are urgently needed from 'such cadre of people' in Nigeria. More grease to the elbow of these ever-ready and 'incorruptible' set of EFCC in an 'incorruptible' administration.

I thought you heard the new governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, lamenting that Amaechi did not do proper handing over? Did you not hear that there were no cars in the government house of Rivers state? Sorry for accusing you, I thought you heard that an out-gone commissioner who in her possession was found a car worth N50m said it was as a parting gift from the previous administration. Who parted her with such gift? Wike said as at 28th of may ( hand over eve) millions of naira were still being withdrawn from the state account. Did EFCC hear that? Wike first assignment in office was to go and borrow N10b, did EFCC bother asking why such early 'own goal'? First of all, these guys are both politicians not some skilled footballer that solely depends on their flair, these guys depend on the ppl and are at the mercy of popular opinion, ones the ppl stop liking you no matter how smart and influential you once were you're done. Secondly, Saraki and Tinubu these guys both want to be president one day so the senate presidency and Tinubus fancy political résumé is just a means to an end, my point is from were we stand today saraki seems to be winning the war. Judging from recent events it will be safe to assume that the south east and south south will favour a saraki presidency over a tinubu one. Saraki also has a considerable amount of influence in the north that i believe he will stand a good chance even against tinubu, in the southwest tinubu has enough enemies that will undermine him and give saraki a whole lot respectable result even from that zone. In all tinubu was great once, but now he has passed his heydays and saraki is the new rising sun

Immediately after the 2015 general elections in Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was pin-pointed as a potential Peace Ambassador due to his role in ensuring the peace and stability that Nigeria is enjoying today. A role that attracted a powerful world-wide recommendation from major world holders of stake like United States of America, Russia and China.

Of course, the reason for this global adoration of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's attitude cannot be far-fetched. He simply made "the call that saved Nigeria" according to a BBC journalist. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan conceded defeat in the 2015 Nigerian general elections after it became conspicuous that the odds were in the favour of his close opponent, General Muhammadu Buhari. A simple act that averted crises according to the view of World observers. It was that singular act of selflessness that metamorphosed the outgoing Nigerian President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to the World centre of gravity - being considered as a Global Peace Ambassador - a decision that seems to have been finalised as it has been endorsed by the powers that be.

According to sources, The man was pictured in his birthday suit at Charlotte Douglas International Airportin North Carolina yesterday giving shocked onlookers an eyeful.

In pictures shared on Facebook by passengers in the airport, the man was then snapped being carried away by airport security in handcuffs.

A love letter written by Osama Bin Laden to one of his wives before he was killed has been recovered among other things in his home where he was killed in Pakistan.

UK mailreports that the Letter was addressed as 'to my dear faithful wife', Bin Laden describes her as 'the apple of my eye' and says she 'fills my heart with love', but without revealing which of his three spouses he is talking about.

'Know that you do fill my heart with love, beautiful memories, and your long-suffering of tense situations in order to appease me and be kind to me, and every time I thought of you my eyes would tear for being away from you. 'I want you to know that I will not marry on you because I will not find a woman like you, and I will remain in the land of jihad until God will bring us together.' He goes on to say that if he is killed, she has permission to return to her family, but adds 'you have to raise my children properly'

Close to 6,000 people have promised to join a mooving candlelit vigil - for a cow shot dead by police in Newcastle.

The incident happened on Sunday, armed officers surrounded the animal, known as Bessie, as she went on the run near the busy Coast Road in Newcastle. Many were upset at her untimely demise. “So the Coast Road had been closed and they still shot her!?” said Trudi Saddler. “Pure laziness and lack of patience. Nobody was in danger but the cow.” “There was no need to kill the animal - a tranquilliser would have done the same job,” said Kirsty Murray. Others defended Northumbria Police, who deployed a helicopter and, according to eyewitnesses, up to 20 police cars, as well as firearms officers.

“The police can’t do right for doing wrong,” said Carole Gregory. If the cow had caused a pile up and killed one of your family there would of been hell on.” There are now also plans for a vigil for Bessie on Friday at 6.30pm to honour her memory.

Those attended are asked to bring a candle and wear a cow onesie. Dave Turner who set up the page, told : "It's not every day you get a cow getting shot in a field nearby. I think we need to mark this occasion with a serious send-off for Bessie. "It wasn't doing anything, it was just eating a bit of grass - it probably got sick of the grass it was eating elsewhere, it heard about a nice new patch, went down and started grazing, and the next thing is police turn up and start firing at it."

Northumbria Police said Bessie was in "a highly distressed state and considered to be a significant risk to members of the public and motorists" before she was shot. “The decision was made for the animal to be destroyed by firearms officers at the scene," a spokesman added.

That is when you would expect the operator to give the boy a stern telling off, or even accuse the child of making a. prank call.

But instead, the operator listens to the child and offers to help. Eventually, the boy's mother can be heard asking the boy what he is up to on the phone, and the adorable call comes to a close.
