ASUU na political tool ...
Haha, I am neither a lecturer nor a politician, but can you state what FG offered on the table for them?
1. Accept 60k increament for professors and 30k for others and FORFEIT 7 months salary but you make up for the lost months on the student side
2. 50billion earned allowance and 100billion to VC's for revitalisation
These things are promises to start from NEXT year's budget that will come effect after Q1, probably around April or May next year
This current government has failed ASUU on 2 former promises and that is what led to this current strike. You want them to end it now and probably prepare for another one in the next few months?
Anyway if I'm in their shoes, I might end it, do away with the salary and student's will also FORFEIT what I could have done during the strike.
No make up in any form!!
I seriously maintain my stand that the FG is deceitful and insincere!!!
Please ask them what happened with the November 2020 agreement signed to be implemented with the 2021 supplementary budget? AND UTAS agreement of 31st December 2020?
What of the 2017 promises and agreements
The earlier you know whom these people are the better!!

Proscribe ASUU for all I care. Their own don do! After all IPOB was proscribed when their own too much. Stop holding students to ransom. They’ve paid school fees but can’t learn. Those in final year entered final year since two years ago.
With FG refusing to pay them 6 months arrears, will they teach students what they missed in the 6 months or continue new session entirely?
Maybe those in final will wait till whenever ASUU is paid, or there won't current year one

What's 60,000

A young Professor will still not earn #500,000 ...even the older ones will barely crossed #500,000.

Still Nonsense!

If ASUU gree, I repeat, dey are EPA.
Seriously old Professors in my school are earning less than 350k, I don't know of younger ones, my uncle snapped his January 2022 salary payslip and posted in our WhatsApp, it was 341k.
This man will retire in 3 years time, He's 67 this year and got this job when he was 31.
After 36years in service, he is earning 341k still living in a flat! Not even a bungalow

ASUU-FG impasse continually meets a brick wall because deception, chicanery and thrives in Govt' veins.

I am ashamed the way governments belabour on Prof's (about 6%-9% of academic staff) salaries alone when in actual fact, this strike is for the entire system.

How can a Graduate Assistant be earning #105-110k

How can an Assistant Lecturer be earning #120k+ even with MSc,

How can PhD, be earning #148k plus.

We had better told ourselves the truth.

Ordinary Bsc. earns 300k in some organisation and some even earn more than profs.

They will write, research and submit publications to journals and pays in dollars out of this salary.

Most will even equip their offices with this same salaries.

When we are ready, let us know
You're informed Bro, Impressive!

Agricultural sector, health sector, transportation any sector you can think about in Nigeria is under mess! Why are the workers in all those areas not acting like ASUU?
I am not in anyway supporting FG but ASUU demands are always too outrageous and they want most of those demands almost instantly. Meanwhile they are also part of the decay in the universities they are pretending to safe...
Lectures victimizing students for no reason, demanding sex for mark etc These are also part of the causes of decay in our universities. Most of them don't even teach but they will be asking for better pay. .. Pots calling kettle black!
You're right but there are still the good ones, everybody won't suffer because of the bad apples!

Who is ASUU to tell their employer the mode thru their salaries should be paid? Who does that? If there are loopholes it can be corrected. Is it not soft ware?
Greedy lecturers collecting salaries from different universities, that is one their grouse because IPPIS stoped that.
We all know that our government have failed but ASSU are just too greedy. The same problem they are facing is also affecting every part of the economy why are others not as greedy as them?
Since 2019 When Committee of Vice Chancellors spoke of these loopholes(a situation where you have 5,000 staff and the suspended AGF is telling FG he pays 7,000, among others), why haven't they corrected the software.
UTAS did not account for double salaries from different universities, why haven't they accepted it?
Now ASUU said they should at least fulfill their 2009 agreement, wahala
Renegotiate the agreement to what you can do, wahala
Is the government not crazy
A professor is greedy for demanding a pay rise from 315k they are currently paying him since 2009

Including their greedy and unrealistic requests?
Do you know up till today, FG has no offer on ASUU's table
During an interview on 13th of July, ASUU chairman dared FG to tell Nigerians what they have to offer ASUU and since then, NOTHING has been said
ASUU said they don't want IPPIS , FG said NO
Pantami came out yesterday and declared that IPPIS has big loopholes, it failed their integrity test!!....among other demands which FG has offered nothing
Is it good to continue paying someone the same salary since 2009?

I am obedient but I actually agree with Adamu Garba when he said the ASUU strike has political undertones.
The FG has met their needs to a very large extent, 100% pay rise( excluding state uni which is very understandable as most states haven't even implemented minimum wage).
TET fund has released billions.
Earned allowances have been paid.
UTAS is at final stages of testing...

ASUU doesn't care about us, they have a sole responsibility to students and not telling us to vote out APC which we will already do...

Just NEgedu ASUU matter
Bro it seems you're delusional by following all those media rubbish they talk
FG has not and will never even do these things you listed up there, ASUU is currently waiting for them to even make a request of what they can do, as I am talking to you now, NOTHING is on ASUU's table to consider!!
I even wonder where you got these information because FG cannot openly claim these things you said up there, NONE I mean none of those things have been Done!
UTAS has been in it's final stage of testing since March? hahaha
I am happy Pantami told them yesterday that IPPIS failed integrity test!

This settles it.

Once again, I am not surprised, Anambra is the least of the top 10.

This clean data further show that the major 3 tribes by population are Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani.

From another clean data from biometric linked to GSM numbers, 80% Igbo population live in the 5 Igbo states that make up the South East. That is why Igbo communities in the South East are the least diversified.

20% live outside SE and most live in states bordering the 5 SE states like Rivers, Delta, Kogi, Benue.

Fewer Igbo live in far away places like Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna and Kano. That is why even if elections are conducted iin those far away states ,Igbo can not determine the outcome.

SW and NW are already in the kitty for Asiwaju Tinubu.

HE Atiku can have SE with the least populous zone with the least number of registerd voters as usual wink
2023 victory is done and dusted for Asiwaju Tinubu.

Once again, politics of lies, bigotry and hate l'ule.

The question Kperogi refused to ask is that, was Peter Obi’s name on the register of LP that was submitted to INEC on April 25? As at April 25th, 2022, Peter Obi was a member of PDP and a presidential aspirant of the party. He’s not even qualified to participate in the primary of LP. He will be eventually disqualified by the court.
Nobody will be disqualified!
Even when Labour Party and NNPP are discussing coalition after the primaries?
You mean if I become a member of let's say PDP today, INEC won't recognise me?
Fallacies! I mean nobody will be disqualified, people will bring the electoral act and read it upside down
That's how they said if you loose primary election in a political party, you cannot contest in another, what Is happening today??

I believe you because the knife might just be on the table in the room or anywhere close to the bed, maybe beside the bedside shelf, used for a different purpose and left there! So provocatively, that might be the nearest thing to him.
They didn't tell us he went to the kitchen, brought the knife and came back for the attack!
Besides the culprits might have ran away assuming he went elsewhere to get the knife, depending...

Education / Re: No End In Sight To ASUU, Federal Government Face Off by ogaontop(m): 11:59am On Jun 30, 2022
blinking001:
So far it's been evident that ASUU as a union is bitting more than they can chew.
It's common knowledge now what their grievances with the federal government are. We all know ASUU is fighting for their selfish interest with zero considerations and regards for our children in public universities.

The federal government are the employers of ASUU members, the courtesy and respect the federal government has shown ASUU so far should be commended by all.

ASUU has no right to demand for a different payment system asides the IPPS payment platform which is the major payment system the federal government has been using to pay her workers. ASUU insistence on UTAS just so they can continue milking the federal government of excess funds should be condemned by all.

The IPPS exposed most professors in our public universities, as it was evident some were teaching in 5 different public institutions and earned 5 seperate salaries, an anomaly the IPPS graciously obliterated to the dismay of ASUU members. ASUU as a union is too corrupt and must be exposed. They never had the interest of Nigerian students and their education at heart, all they are after is more money.

It's time ASUU is disbanded. They are constituting a nuisance to the growth of our educational sector. The federal government should employ public opinion against them.

Enough of ASUU's high handedness, the federal government should fix a date for school resumptions, any lecturer that fails to keep up with this directive should be fired and interviews for newly qualified lecturers should be advertised. It's time the federal government acts so our educational sector can saved from the hands of selfish pressure groups such as ASUU.
You tried sounding intelligently but you don't have facts...
1. The federal government signed minimum wage into law, why is the minimum wage and arrears not being paid?
2. Revitalization money for the universities are being handled by FG, VC's or their contractors, not ASUU
3. IPPIS is massively flawed, imagine a situation where you have 6,000 staff and in IPPIS record they pay 7,000, they end up bloating the numbers straight to their pocket, of recent the AGF scooped more than 100billion through IPPIS
4. The NUC approved adjunct, sabbatical for Professors, a situation where you can go to another university as a part time, if that is their problem, then they should stop it and proceed with UTAS, ASUU is not hell bent on adjunct! Mark my words!!
5. Visitation panels: imagine a situation where ASUU is begging the government to set up visitation panels that will regularly check mate what is happening in the university management
6. The MAJOR issue here above others is FG implementing the terms of 2009, 2015, 2020 agreements it reached with the unions and even more recently listen to the resolutions of the committee you set up during the current strike and call ASUU for a truce!
What ASUU is asking for is not worth half of what their colleagues in South Africa and even neighbouring Ghana earn

Every responsible government will address these issues sensibly and call for a truce where need be!

Romance / Re: The 'Girlfriend Question' My Cousin's Wife Keeps Asking Me by ogaontop(m): 10:53am On Jun 25, 2022
Nikkganc08:

.

Four things are involved

Either:

1. She's crushing on u and would like to start a romantic relationshop with u.

The type that's based on lust and not love.

and just wants to know if there's another competitor nearby.

If a lady asks u this question and insists on getting an answer....

My brother, you've made it in life.

You can deny having any girl, then invite her to ur room same day and pants would be shifted.

U can even consent that u have 10 girlfriends, but still invite her over and things will still happen.

At this point, her crush for u can't be quenched by any reply u give.

Since she's married, I'd advice u to RFYDL (run for your dear life). It usually ends in Shame and premium tears.

2. This option simply means that she's expecting u to get married soon.

But its unlikely to be d case. Only ur mother, aunty or biological sister can genuinely ask this type of question.

3. This option might sound strange . but here, it simply means she Hates u being around.

She wants u to leave d house for her and go get ur own house (that's if u guys r living in same house).

Whether u live or die is none of her business.

Whether u eat or starve doesn't concern her.

She may smile and be friendly when she sees u but deep inside, she just wants u to leave.

This option usually applies when she's ur brothers wife and u r still living in same house with that ur brother.

Or in cases similar to the example above.

Women in this category are d worst of all.
They can go any length to make u leave.

For instance, some can poison ur food.

Some can arrange people to Kill u.

Some can go to native doctors to make ur brother hate u or stop rendering any form of help to u.

4. She thinks u r Gay. She just wants to be sure u r not. That's why she's asking.

Its likely she has never seen u walking, talking or holding hands with any lady before.

Take it or leave it...

But the things i listed above are exactly what it entails.

There's no extra to the list.

Check ur self with those things I listed and you'd know exactly what d situation is about
On point, full stop!
