Investment › Re: Can I Survive In Nigeria If I Make $10 Daily - My Wife Included by ogawisdom(m): 8:39pm On Jan 08 |
Episode22: Hello Nairalanders,
Please, I’ll keep this brief and straight to the point.
I need honest opinions and practical advice. Can someone realistically survive in Nigeria on a daily income of $10?. I work from home.
If no, please explain why.
If yes, I’d appreciate a clear strategy—how to manage it, possible business ideas, and how one could grow beyond that income level.
For context, I currently earn $10 daily online from my blog, and on some days $13.
If this income is not sustainable in the long run, I genuinely want to know so I can plan better and make informed decisions.
Constructive advice only, please.
Moderators, kindly assist with visibility. Thank you. Depends on your standard of living and lifestyle. Because you will cut down on alot to survive and live in a low cost city |

Femi Otedola has sold his remaining stake in Geregu Power for hundreds of millions of dollars, closing the final chapter on his decade-long dash for cash in Nigeria’s electricity game.
Billionaire baton toss: Otedola dumps Geregu, Elumelu buys Seplat in $500M energy relay
On the very same day, Tony Elumelu pumped $496 million into Seplat Energy, betting that Africa’s oil-and-gas story still has profitable pages left.

Romance › Re: My Marriage Is Falling Apart Please I Need Urgent Advice by ogawisdom(m): 9:10pm On Jan 07 |
Cherryediva: Hello everyone, sorry for the long post I got married at 22, my husband was 40 at the time. We have been married for 5 years and we have a child together.
My concern is that my husband is not able to satisfy me sexually at all, which is frustrating, I have talked to him about it nothing seems to change. Financially, he is struggling, partly because he gambles a lot. He also drinks alcohol heavily.
I work too but he doesn't want me to have my own money he is always collecting money from me. He doesn’t have clear goals, ambition, or a vision for the future, and this makes me feel stagnant in the marriage.
He is a good man in terms of character. He doesn’t cheat, he doesn’t abuse me at all, and he treats me well overall.
I’m confused because while he is good to me, I feel stuck and unfulfilled. I would really appreciate advice from y'all who have been in similar situations or who can offer honest guidance. Thank you.
Google Image Cheating is expensive, every broke man should be loyal to the wife BC he can't afford to cheat, pay for hotel and give a lady decent money. |

Rabiu alone made over ₦9 trillion in capital gains from the stock market in 2025.
Read that again. Slowly.
For context.
₦9 trillion is about one-third of Nigeria’s entire 2024 national budget One man. From capital gains.
Let me break the numbers down.
₦1 trillion = ₦1 billion repeated 1,000 times ₦9 trillion = ₦1 billion repeated 9,000 times
Still abstract. Let’s go further.
Assume this.
He spends ₦1 billion every single month For 50 years straight
That is:
50 years = 600 months ₦1 billion × 600 months = ₦600 billion
Now pause.
From ₦9 trillion.
After 50 years of spending ₦1 billion monthly He would still have about ₦8.4 trillion left
Let that sink in.
It will take 750 years Of spending ₦1 billion every single month to exhaust ₦9 trillion
This is not hype. This is simple arithmetic.
This is why ownership matters.
This is what markets do.
• They reward ownership • They multiply patience • They scale capital beyond effort
Wealth is quiet. But the numbers are loud.
LET US LEARN FROM BILLIONAIRE - RABIU

Very soon my portfolio will be only Presco Aradel Seplat.
I go just enter oil(edible and crude) They appreciate and they pay good dividends. Exactly no smart Investor actually needs more than 5 great businesses in different sectors in their portfolio. |

There is no Billionaire that doesn't use loan to grow his assets.
As a wise Investor you should start building relationships, acceptable collaterals and credit scores with financial institutions that can give you loan to strike when a massive opportunity presents itself.
Be prepared so you can hit it big when the time comes.

Your first and most important battle in life is the fight to conquer poverty. learn how to make, manage and multiply money by investing in yourself because everything depend on you. Aim for financial freedom, accumulate assets and avoid or runaway from liabilities esp. useless women than wants to live off men. Once money problem is solved, you can handle every other challenge in life easily. |

Used to have about 60 stocks in my portfolio and then used to receive over 100 dividend alerts. Although I have received 57 credit from alerts from my portfolio this year, with an outstanding one towards the end of the year.
Although I started reducing the stocks in the portfolio around late 2024.
Just checked my portfolio and I found out I have the following securities in my portfolio. 17 stocks and 7 bonds. Equities 1. Afriland Properties 2. CSCS 3. Friesland WAMCO 4. When you are a HNI you can afford to make less money but you can't afford to lose alot of money by concentrating. Concentration should be for people trying to get rich (hit networth of ₦100m) |

Learn to be alone and not feel lonely. The only thing that guarantee a miserable old age is financial dependency.
Whatever you do ensure that money won't be part of your problems at old age.
You can't afford to be old and broke it will lead to death faster.
With money every other problem can be managed and you will live the rest of your days well.
Sometimes you cant blame the children they have their lives to live and location difference can be a big barrier. |
