25% is too much 15% should have been max though 99% of retail investors won't be affected. We still need the market movers around ie high networth individuals and institutional investors that will be affected.

I came across the school fees for freshly admitted students in UNILORIN. Is this not getting out of hand? I can remember vividly, this sum isn't upto what students pay for their whole study in the university. In addition, Acceptance fees of 40k has to be paid
Remember USD moved from 400 in 2023 to 1500 today that is almost times three among other things that was inflated

Please can anyone tell me why Fidelity bank fell like a pack of cards today. Lost maximum 10% today (i didn't see this coming).I am suspecting difficulties in meeting this recapitalization exercise. If they can't do it alone, it is better to merge with bank on the same cadre or better still jettison the international license. But, if it allow itself to be acquired it will be a different story. It is better to make hay when the sun shines. If they leave it for last minute they will just enter any agreement anyhow. ( My layman understanding grin)
Insiders have seen the poor result that is about to be released most likely and dumping fast to invest in Zenith or Stanbic grin

Insiders and institutional investors are always ahead in this game

UBA is trying to meet up with recapitalization. No wonder the free fall of their share price. From N2.00k interim dividend to N0.25k this year. This is too poor. sad
Extremely poor it will be punished by the market in the days ahead.

What will fidelity now pay? angry

Zenith bank report

Strong balance sheet growth - assets and deposits surged, showing confidence and liquidity strength.

Higher dividend payout - Interim dividend raised to ₦1.25 despite earnings dip, signaling management confidence.

Earnings Per Share (EPS) - ₦12.95, down from ₦18.41 probably due to increased OS

Too small to make anything significant except you can lock it for 0ne year at 20% then consider Fairmoney. It should give 100k in a year or about 8k monthly

N50 price target is not unrealistic for Zenith. It could even get lower, it probably would get lower.
Only one thing can make this price possible, if CBN refuse to approve interim dividend for the bank..

Once a reasonable interim dividend is announced Zenith will fly back close to 80.

Anyway I can't wait for that massive opportunity to average down my precious Zenith.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ogawisdom(m): 9:33pm On Sep 01, 2025
Too many opportunities in the market this period which may get even better with time, buy slowly.

For investors, without bear market or market correction our wealth creation journey will take a longer time.

To all newbies investors

The bargain season is here, it will be more interesting in sept and October.

Accumulate dividend growth stocks gradually at bargain prices, I loaded more Zenith at 66.50 today.

Don't be in a haste to buy all at once, the days ahead may present better bargain prices.

NAHCO is still stubborn to go below 103, waiting to take more below 103.

Aradel train is also patiently waiting for everyone, once the insider presently selling heavily is done the movement go loud cool.

This is not a financial advise, just the opinion of an investor.

This doesn't even make any sense!! i get it, the plan is for dividend growth, there also has to be a balance with capital appreciation.
There is capital appreciation potential for all of them especially for longterm.

Alot of sensible debates going on here.
Please, I'm a newbie in stock investment and needs recommendations

I need at least 5-10 good long term stocks to buy.
It's good you are thinking long term, that means you need dividend growth stocks, you may consider

Zenith Bank at 70 & below
UBA at 50 & below
Dan cement at 510 & below
Presco at 1350 & below
NAHCO at 103 & below
Aradel at 505 & below

Buy in trenches don't go all in at once.

Noteby these are solid dividend & fundamental stocks in my opinion that are not over priced not a financial advise, do your due diligence and research. The decision is yours.

Fidelity should have over 70billion OS when they recapitalise. Them go sweat to pay N1 dividend.

UBA should have about 44 billion OS after recapitalisation
70B is alot for fidelity hmmm well I hope they can still pay at least ₦2 sth dividend like last time or sth close to it. Otherwise their share price may not go up much. They did not move in this bull market and they should know that any drastic reduction in dividend will dip their share price well

Joyful365:
Bank stocks are the worst form of stocks to hold. They'll keep diluting your shares till what you own is an infinitesimal part of their outstanding shares, at which point you'll practically get next to peanuts even if they declare billions in profit.

Banks ought to buy back a part of their circulating shares during periods of surplus, to create shareholders value, but they won't because they're part of the scam monetary system that feeds off printing money to render people poor. That's why banks print new shares to sell each time they're given new capital requirements.

If you are looking for capital appreciation, avoid most nigerian stocks that have outstanding shares of over 40 billion or more.

You're better off owning commercial papers, treasury bills and government bonds.
Hmmm really except
UBA 41B os
Zenith 41B os
Fidelity 50B os

Their EPS and dividend yield still makes sense with the os

Just when I was waiting for cutix today below 3.5 boom it's on full bid and at 3.90.

Cash is still king

It's either it comes down there or I check out TIP or chams currently at fair values.

Friday is supposed to be red day (sellers market aka supply) and Monday green day (buyers market aka demand) but stock market rarely stays with a pattern for long.

I think he can gamble with uba. Uba result will be good and for dividend uba would likely do at least #3 for interim, and fidelity will surely do #1 uba is not good for final dividend, maybe Gtco, zenith, access and fidelity is what we would be looking for final div.

For his case, let him gamble on both fidelity and uba. For uba better gamble on div and fidelity better gamble on both capital appreciation and div.
Keep gambling and might be rewarded. 50\50 investor
All dependent on payment of good interim dividend, what if it's not approved by CBN? He will average down and buy more at good discount & think long term.

Communicate your budget and let her know your limit so she can adjust or make up the difference
