Why is the sin - actors trying to change the constitution illegally? Has these changes been approved by 2/3rd of the state houses of assembly? |
The agitation for delta state did not start during the Babangida regime as postulated in this write-up. The land procured at Osubi for the creation of the Delta state capital is still state government property till date. Request for a Delta state, with a capital around Warri/ Effurun and Osubi axis was already in existence in the 70s. The Itsekiri's opposed the the citing of the state capital at anywhere near Warri, fearing it will reduce the dominance of the Olu and also force them to lose land to the state. And for correction, Babangida chose Asaba as state capital because his wife was from Asaba, that was the genesis of the bad blood towards Asaba. A place like Kwale would have been far better than Asaba as state capital. |
sarahatuba:I don't have anything against the North, on the contrary I pity the common folks up north who has big problems thrust on them. The children of the commoners are killed daily up North, some are kidnapped and forced attack their own communities. Other poor ones are kidnapped and made wives to terrorists against their wish. Those are not the ones I have problem with. You should ask your self, what has northern leaders done to solve the problem in the north? Have they done enough to solve the problems the north is facing? And if they have not done enough, what should be the punishment for such northern leaders who have not done enough? Is the requisite punishment being meted to those northern leaders who looked the other way while their subjects where being trampled upon. The problem with the north starts with their leaders. They are very selfish. The Niger delta had the problem of militants, their leaders went into the creeks to placate them, pressuring them to lay down their arms. The south east ones had the dreaded bakassi group that were meting out jungle justice in the south east. The south east leaders were able to cage them. The yoruba odua group ones put it upon themselves to trade blows with hausas in the south west, they have been prevailed upon to live and let live. why has the Northern leaders not been able to quell the rubbish that is going on in the north. |
sarahatuba:Quick to judge? Hell no! We have watched the macabre dance of the northerners since independence, they have been doing this dance since 1966, using violence as instruments of negotiation. It is the northern thing, they kill without thinking about it. Just that this time they chose to be killing their own brothers and sisters and kidnap some of them to use as wives. I dont know if you know any southerner in Boko Haram, but when they come online to glorify the atrocities they have commited, they speak Hausa, a northern language. I am yet to hear them speak Edo, Ijaw, Ibo or Yoruba. Maybe you have heard them speaking southern languages in your meeting with them. You have to fill us in there |
sarahatuba:I wonder how you define conspiracy. It is a fact that northerners are the ones killing their own brothers and kidnapping their children up north. I am yet to see any credible report that says southerners are the ones doing the killing and kidnapping in the north. It is on record that Shettima was advised to move the exams from chibok to a better secured location, he refused and the girls were kidnapped. How did northerners respond to that wrong judgement call? They voted for Shettima! We wish you guys success in what ever you are planning for yourselves |
abduljabbar4:No true Nigerian like the idea of Northerners killing themselves over power. But if a region chooses to bomb themselves and kidnap their own children, what can other regions really do about it? If a man choose to murder his family today can you really stop him? He can simply serve his family poison as dinner and there is nothing you can do about it. The Northern leaders served their children poisons for the last four years, we had nothing to do than watch, hoping that the northern children will wise up, unfortunately the children did not wise up, they even voted for Shettima to continue presiding over the kidnap of school girls in Borno |
Who does not know the north has an agenda? Do you think that they sacrificed their children to be kidnapped and raped, and their infrastructures destroyed through self bombing just for Tinubu to call the shots? Mba, the north has an agenda quite right. They have started by laying claim to the positions of Senate president and Speaker of the House simultaneously. This is the 1st time any region will be asking for both seats in addition to the presidency at thesame time. The malams have definitely arrived. |
Election is over, promises are over. It's time for APC to construct a nice website giving the many reasons why they will not be able to meet up with the promises they made. And all the reasons will be to blame PDP. Just watch out as the excuses to start rolling. |
Em Em , can you kill someone for me. I need someone to help me wake up Lord Luggard and kill him a second time. If not for him we would have been a country where competence trashes tribalism. |
I believe the Limestone can be used for soil conditioning in crop farming also |
Dekatron:This is the reason they should quickly quarantine you ![]() As an engineering student, you need to put on your thinking cap and find reason why your people are dying rather you are happy that you are not a doctor. |
They need to check these people very well. It is possible that they drank alcohol laced with methanol. The symptom looks like methanol poisoning |
These janjanweeds and their stupid promises. At 50 dollars per bbl crude oil comes to 10,000 naira per bbl. This is equivalent to about 63 naira per litre of crude oil. So the Janjanweeds will take a litre of crude oil at 63 naira, refine it and sell it at 40 naira ? Who will pay for the difference in cost between the cost of the raw material and finished product. Who bears the cost of the refining cost and distribution costs, what about profits for all the people along the value chain from the crude oil stage to the point where the fuel is sold at the pumps. |
mmsen:He picked the wrong horse and was left exposed and you are happy about it. You are not politically savvy. So as long corrupt politicians pick the right horse and are covered by their fellow politicians, you are happy. For your information, Ibori was way ahead of his peers in terms of development of his state. The south south politicians have not been able to control the media that is why the the sw dominated media can label anyone of them a crook and it sticks. But people on the ground compare politicians while voting and they vote for who ever they think represent their interest more. In this case Ibori's daughter got the votes of her local community, respect their vote. |
mmsen:The problem with people like you is that you don't know the difference between fighting corruption and fighting between political opponents. Not knowing the difference can make politicians to use you as pawn in achieving their personal ambitions. Ibori was not jailed for corruption, he was jailed for losing a political fight. If you can not understand this then it is a pity. Fighting corruption can lead to better governance, political fights among politicians don't lead to better governance, it simply leads to realignment of allegiance for political survival. |
Gr8amechi:It is not non Deltans, it is mostly the Yorubas. They sit in Ibadan and without ever visiting Delta state, claim to know who is a saint and who is a crook in Delta state and the others simply follow them without asking questions |
mmsen:You come online to talk trash about a state you know nothing about and expect to be courted? boy, wake up. You can form expert online on things you know nothing about, but don't expect to get away with it everyday. Today is one of those days where your ignorance gets exposed. Live with it. There is no crime in ignorance, just don't claim expertise in your ignorance, you know nothing about governance in Delta state, don't claim to know, simply come online and learn. |
mmsen:By which criteria did you conclude that Delta state is one of the worst in the south, guy get a life. Check the human development index of the different states in Nigeria and repeat the trash you just wrote. If you dont have a state governor, then you are not a Nigerian, in that case concentrate on your country and allow us solve our problems |
chuzimgaius:This is a true Deltan talking. Not the yorubas who come online to cry more than the bereaved of how Ibori supposely destroyed Delta state, a state they have never been to |
mmsen:Charity begins at home. Your state governor is raping you daily, stealing you senseless, you can not raise your voice to condemn it, yet you come online to rant about another state. Get a life. Who is defending criminals, show me one straight forward politician in Nigeria, is the politician you voted for in the last election straightforward? Hypocrates like you support corrupt politicians and come online to claim holier than thou. |
mmsen:You did not answer the question of what happened to those who stole more than Ibori. Your state governors since 1999 have been stealing your state dry, what has happened to them, can you account for the security votes your governor pockets every month? Like I said you know nothing about delta state, focus on your state and make it better |
jaybee3:Democracy is about winning some and losing some. It is good that PDP did not soak dogs and baboons in blood because they lost just like Buhari supporters did in 2011. Nigeria has problems, if APC can solve the problems, good for everyone, if they fail, you will still be among those who will wail and which for a PDP return, so sit still lets watch the game onfold. |
mmsen:I think it will be better if you talk as an expert in things that you know about, you obviously do not know anything about delta state and you do not know about the infrastructural development Ibori brought to Delta state, so do not come online and pretend to know anything about delta state. There is no community in Delta state that can claim that Ibori did not do a project in their community, none. There is no other governor in Nigeria that can claim that title. Ibori stepped on toes and was caged, simple The money the UK are trying to confisticate from Ibori is 5million pounds, certainly 5 million pounds is not the greatest fraud that has happened in Nigeria since 1999, what happened to the others. You know nothing about delta state, Deltans know that Ibori has been the best governor in Delta state since the creation of the state. I suggest you create a thread about corruption in your state and try to remove the rot in your state before picking on delta state. |
The Northerners are now back in power. The objective has been achieved, they can now bring out their children from wherever they were hiding them. They can also stop killing themselves. If they like they can continue their stupidity and keep bringing sorrow to their people, they are on their own. Don't quote me if you hate the truth |
This was expected. Delta is PDP simple |
jethro2:I am happy for you that you have been able to find "reasonable" fulani herdsmen, congrats. You seem not to understand the game plan, the fulani man will always find an opportunity to fatten his cows on your crops, that is why you have problems between them and farmers all over the country. I once had them destroy my 50 acre farm in Delta state, of course when you complain to their elders they will pretend to be sympathetic while in truth they don't care about your loss. cows are not like goats that wander off on their own and destroy crops, cows are actively taken to the farms and the fulani herdsmen watch while the cows are destroying your crops, believe me, it is not a mistake, it is deliberate. I my case I got boys to lay ambush and caught one of the herdsmen in my farm, got him arrested and they paid me 200k as damages in 3 installments. The police could not do more than that, they simply advised my to buy a gun and shoot any cow that comes to my farm. Now I have resolved to put both barbed wire fence and electric fence on any farm where fulani herdsmen are a threat. Insecurity terms, it is called "Target Hardening" I am not prepared to bribe anyone not to eat my crops. we can have mutually beneficial relationship in the village, but that should not come under the treat of my crops being eaten. Also it is not my duty to sink borehole or plant grasses for cattle owners, no one sink borehole in my farm for me, why should I do it for cattle owners? |
saliubello:I am not looking down on anyone, I am sorry if I passed off such an impression. But barbed wire fencing when installed on a strong frame works. Anyway she can always use electric fencing, that is the standard means of keeping range animals off an area |
Jethro, You need to learn, in the 21st century and access to internet you should not be thinking like the way we were thinking years back. If you have a farm and cows are likely to be a problem, simply fence it off with barbed wire. All it takes is a few strands of barbed wire fencing and the cows will leave your farm alone. You can even go further and install solar powered electric fence on the perimeter of the farm, both abok.i and his cows will avoid your farm like a plague. your socialist suggestion of creating grazing land for uneducated fulani cattle herders does not hold water, if they want grass they should plant grass by themselves or buy grass to feed their cows, afterall they sell the cows at the end of the day. communal grazing lands will be overgrassed, poorly looked after and will be conter productive on the long run. To solve your problem, install barbed wire fence and encourage others to install barbed wire fences on their farms. |
This one you guys are creating distracting topics everywhere, no excuse o, all the promises must be met. Whether he borrows or not is not the issue. Prophet Buhari should keep the promises. He should remember to grow the foreign reserve, give 5000 naira per month to 20 million folks, feed school children, provide 24-7 electricity, stop all corruption, stop Boko Haram, make 1 naira = 1 dollar. Build the 2nd Niger bridge without tolls. We are waiting for may 29 for the goodies to start rolling. |
Prophet Buhari said if you vote him as president he will make 1 naira to be equal to 1 dollar. Many of you believed him and has voted him. Let's sit back from may 29 the magic will start hopefully. |
I think it is a bad idea to reside illegally in any country. By doing so you open yourself to possible abuse. You can easily be blackmailed into doing what you normally will not want to do like prostitution or slave labour when you are an illegal immigrant. On the other hand a salary of 70,000 naira for a single lady in Nigeria is not too bad.plan your life to always be on the right side of the law. Try to get a more paying job or do a business in addition to your job if you need more money. My simple advice, stay on the right side of the law always, it has a strong way of preventing lots of regrets in future. |

? (there we go again with the judgements)....BTW never told i was one of 'them'.......well i also wish you what you wish them
