uliyaah:I doubt. Op gave his name as Victor adokiye. True caller gave me adokiye omuaru. I got him with Vomuaru adokiye. I compared his pix on Facebook with the one on true caller. It matched. |
chymevicks:Almost everything about him is suspicious. Imagine he said he was born in 1962. How possible? He has only one facebook friend, princess amaka izuka. The guy should contact op to apologize or get himself to blame. |
nairacountry:Yea let's hope so. But they can be dumb sometimes. He looks like a fraud going by the fact that he has only one friend on Facebook, princess amaka izuka. |
deeswagger:Just checked the other number and it says "Anita home breaker". Hmmmmmmmmmm. |
deeswagger:His name is adokiye omuaru. Just checked with true caller. You can paste his picture and name on Facebook too. You can even visit Facebook with this info and see if you can get names of his friends and their pictures. The guy messed up. |
Sunnymatey:Everything in rivers is politicised. We hope no damamge is done to him. Lovely guy. |
Kofi Bartels The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, said it has come to the party’s notice that the Rivers State Government led by Gov. Nyesom Wike has declared a total war on local journalists in Rivers State. The APC in a press statement signed by its Spokesman, Senibo Chris Fineboned and made available to NF-Reports recalled that not too long ago, the State Government manipulated the Nigeria Police to arrest and question the Punch Correspondent in the State, Mr. Chukwudi Akasike, over what the government claimed was biased reporting against the PDP and State Government, adding that he was reportedly accused by the government of favouring the APC in his reports, an allegation that flies in the face of logical reasoning and deep knowledge of how the media works, maintaining that it further exposes the mortal fear of Gov. Nyesom Wike and his government officials knowing full well that they stand on decrepit moral plank because theirs is a stolen mandate obtained through the blood of innocent people they climbed on to get power. The statement reads: “The most pathetic act of intimidation of journalists in Rivers State was demonstrated a few days ago when the State government inspired and sponsored a frivolous petition against an On Air Personality [OAP] with the Nigeria Info 92.3 FM station in Port Harcourt, Mr. Kofi Bartels. Again, the state government used its agents to petition the Department of State Security [DSS] making spurious accusations against the hardworking young man who is among the many bright young journalists breathing life into the electronic media practice in this part of the world. “The APC recalls that nothing else demonstrates the impartiality of Kofi Bartels than the fact that both APC and PDP members accuse him of not being sympathetic to them. Indeed, he is not supposed to be sympathetic to anyone; he is supposed to simply do his job. But for the PDP to take its misconception a notch further to cause his arrest just to intimidate him, suggests that its members are capable of dispatching the journalist to the great beyond [as is typical of the PDP] if their present intimidation fails because their ultimate motive is clearly to silence him. “For the avoidance of doubt, it must be stated that the APC in Rivers State views Kofi Bartels as a professional media practitioner who is not ready to pander to any political party or interest including that of the APC. As painful as that may appear, we believe that what he does is exactly within the tenets of his profession and we cannot help it. “It is disheartening and condemnable that the Rivers State Government and the Governor would resort to such primitive intimidating style just to silence a poor journalist for being a stickler to the hallowed principles of his profession. “Another reason to worry about what was meted out to Kofi Bartels by Gov. Nyesom Wike and his agents, is that it is capable of psychologically and emotionally destroying the young man in a way he may never recover for the rest of his life. This is indeed very unfair. “The APC notes that despite the concerted efforts of Gov. Wike to buy up journalists and their media houses across Nigeria, there are still men of the pen profession who have risen beyond pecuniary cravings and above the governor’s buccaneering price philosophy that every living soul has a price, not because they are impervious to the battering by poverty but they are simply not ready to dump the tenets of their profession and rubbish their names. “The APC wishes to urge the Nigerian Union of Journalists [NUJ] and the Rivers State Correspondents Chapel to speak up, condemn and resist the assault on their members (an even non-members) especially this satanic and heinous agenda by the notorious Wike-led government in Rivers State.” http://www.flatimes.com/2016/05/kofi-bartels-apc-condemns-intimidation-harassment-journalists-gov-wike.html?m=1 |
eph12:Dialogue still remain the best in this circumstance. The pple blowing up pipelines are not sincere. They are bizmen, otherwise the best time to start was when GEJ, our own brother, was there. |
mineANDurs:You are a rare type. Nice reply I must say. |
eph12:Sorry for the Kate response bro, was outa town and network area. I believe we can use our elected officials to push our course thru. We can start by backing only those who can speak up for us for elective positions. Recall the 13% deprivation was achieved thru a body called south south elders forum. We must have a face, a leader, a workable agenda, a think tank and so on. Look around and you will discover that the best at is dialogue. Syria, Libya, Sudan, CAR, ivory coast and other are in turmoil knowing no peace. Violence will only distroy and cause even more hardship. What do you think brother. |
mineANDurs:Must they get pregnant in the first place? More like saying they were virgins bfor they slept with celebrities. Why did they not get pregnant for the numerous men they met along the line. Abeg make she carry her cross jare. I wonder the kind of lies they will tell these kids when they grow up. You know, things like "your father jilted me, your father ddnt Carr about you, your father listened to his mother instead of me. I mean the kind of lies many single mothers tell their kids. Lesson: if an unmarried girl can't close her legs, especially when she was not raped, she should take whatever happens in its stride. |
eph12:Firstly, I want to say your post is not only free of insult but matured and educative at same time. Some pple's only way of responding to posts they don't like is to resort to insults, thereby making the conversation action boring and derailed. Now to the business of the day. You have made a very vital point. But my fear is this bombing campaign if not nipped in the bud might turn out the way others went. For instance, if the militants are actually fighting for us the would have rejected the so called amnesty and maybe agree to a ceasefire till things turn around. But because they were fighting for their pockets they rushed at the money without recourse to their initial claims. The problem of the Niger delta is not the exploitation persay, but the absence of true patriots. Personally, I do not ser the avengers as the missing link. It is dangerous when you throw your support at these guys even when you do not know their true motives. Hope you get my point. |
Greenback:You should be to make your point without resorting to insults. Most of you kids insulting pple on nairaland can't stand the sight of those u insult in real life. Be civilised and learn from your betters. |
Greenback:You should be to make your point without resorting to insults. Rare yourself. |
eph12:It's about the election bro. This bombing campaign was not planned 6months ago. The asari's and co promised to make Nigeria a hell hole for buhari should Jonathan lose. A case of "the witch cried last night and the baby died this morning". The truth will prevail soon.... |
Businessideas:The military was handicapped then. There was no way they could have done anything meaningful under the same person on whose behalf the threats were made. |
Tolexander:What is this one saying. |
The way this criminals are operating today I see them turning their guns and bombs on the same Niger delta pple they claim to fight for tomoro. This was how their brothers bfor them kidnappered expatriates in their hundreds only to turn against the same pple they claimed to protect when they. Pimentel rraxhbthe exparts anymore. By the time the govt and operators take steps to protect the pipelines I hope the pple they (NDA) will not turn to the Niger delta pple for patronage. |
DaBullIT:The so called traditional rulers are the real problems in our society. You can imagine a situation were a traditional ruler is a politician at same time. The selection process and eventual emergence of traditional rulers in most cases is highly political. There is no way they will not play the bidding of their benefactors. It is the traditional rulers who, thru their actions and inactions, have desecrated their traditional alters and not the military as the OP try to posit. |
ijawmilitant:Must you post this same thing in every thread? If you do not have anything to. contribute why not sit idly and observe. |
It's possible that these policemen fell out with their friends in crime. This kind of incident is not new to the creeks of Niger delta. The police must have beaten more than they could chew. I remember in those good old days when I was still involved in 'kpofire', policemen drive deep into the Bush/creeks and hideouts to collect parcels. But like I said, sometimes greed set in, usually on the part of the police, and it gets bloody. Just saying though. .. |
EasternLeopard:The so called militants befor them made similar demands, but how did it all end, AMNRSTY!! This should tell you that they were just after their pockets alone. A pple on a mission will not abandon the mission halfway for a port of porridge (amnesty). If you say they are fighting for the common good of the Niger delta, I will ask you these few questions. Whom did they consult bfor they reeled out their demands. What was the level of participation from the affected communities? Why ddnt they come out during GEJ's time which, by the way, was the best time for this their action. Why wait till Jonathan leaves office. In terms of approach and strategy, what is the difference between the avengers and their brothers befor. What stops them from asking for what they want in a more civilised manner, in line with global standards like the ogonis later did. |
faymouz:1 POUNDS? |
Feranchek:Your sister be like "A"? She never tell u the truth bro. |
TOBIeee68:Did you just say u are a student lecturer working UNDER Fayose? |
yugotee:Where and when did this happen pls. Your story doesn't add up. You need to tell us where it took place, the time, the name of the school, the reason for this action and the response of the community. This days alot of things are flying around. This could be one of such things except otherwise proven. |
OrlandoOwoh:You are the ignorant one here. Did the suspension affect his core traditional duties to his pple? Why delve into matters u know nothing about. He was suspend by a political office holder from a political position and not from his traditional position. The crux of the matter is the traditional stool. The Oba of Benin is not like your own king who ascends the throne based on other trivial calculations. |
OrlandoOwoh:The suspension only affected his salaries and allowances. Nothing else. He was still the Oba to his pple. The point Here is no power can remove the Oba except in death. The binis resisted an imposition by the British which would have distorted the tradition. The suspension of the Oba or otherwise is irrelevant to the bini tradition. Political suspension affects only political grants and recognition, the tradition stands. |
ojuu4u:You obviously do not understand what the constitution says. The constitution does not give the govt the authority to appoint a traditional ruler my friend. It says recognise. Can't you get it. Even in climes where the king is selected by the king makers the govt cannot meddle constitutionally. Stop twisting facts. In the case of the binis it's even worse. No room to interfare. The king is born and not made. You can ask the family members and friends of the late onyeregbulem (former milad Edo state) how it went when he challenged the Oba's authority/ supremacy. The point here is the gov can do whatever he likes under the constitution but it has no effect whatsoever on the sacredness of that throne. The binis can take Carr of their Oba if your augument, like others here, is based on salaries and allowances. |
neocortex:Your ignorance is appalling. |
phemmyutd:It is a misnormal, not in Benin. In Benin the king is born. The crown Prince is an Oba in waiting with or without govt staff of office. You can only talk of appointment when the throne is not hereditary. If you read that portion the ARABIAN quoted, you will discover that govt do not appoint traditional rulers, they only recognise. The making of an Oba in Benin is an age long tradition that even politics cannot alter. Some went to school but they lack basic comprehension, of which if not well managed can lead to chaos. |
pinkyliceous:I think you 're the real tribal bigot bro. Abia and anambra states bought Toyota cars for security about 3 months ago, you all pretended as if you ddnt see or hear of it. Innoson pays tax to anambra state govt. Innoson employed more igbo than any other tribe in its factory. Innoson contributes to the economic activity in the state too, but u will rather call Ambode out leaving ur own govs who are direct beneficiaries. Talk about hypocrisy.. now tell me, who is Realy ur enemy? You have to remove the elephant in your eyes first. |
