It is not unusual to pay a visit to the gov when such calibre of persons visits a state. If a minister or a senior pastor or an imam or even the IG visits a state they register their presence at the govt house first. It's part of the long list of protocol.

Did you read the response of the gov. He said he will assist the military to defeat the militants. What the military high command came to rivers state for was to seek the cooperation of the govt. Remember, apart from the criminal blowing pipelines, there are also the pirates and kidnappers.

if indeed a Certificateless man like Buhari truly attend the America War College then there are so many issues that calls for concern.

We need to be bothered of the curriculum of War College at that time. What was taught and what was required from applicants.

How many did the Efcc receive when Jonathan was there. How many petitions? Even the ones that were convicted like bode George and alamco had their convictions quashed after serving jail terms. Tell me what do you guys want.

EFCC is funded by the government to prosecute cases of financial crimes. That is their sole responsibility. They should do it. The state government doesn't want to get entangled in the case cos if they don't have the backing of the FG, then the case is as good as dead. We know how these things work in Nigeria: threatening of the judges handling the case, blackmailing of the same, frustrating the entire judicial process with federal might etc.
Moreover, the guy (Amaechi) can even fail to honour the court summon knowing that he's the president's right hand man, and nobody can do much about it.

If the federal government is sincere about their fight against corruption, they should ask EFCC to invite him. That is the most effective route.

I do not think Amaechi will mess with the courts when he knows that the pdp still controls the court to some extent. Let's narrowly it down to rivers state so you understand what I mean. Most of the prominent sons and daughters of rivers extraction in judicial matters in Nigeria today are of the pdp. We have Mary odili, OCJ Okocha, Oke Wali, Mrs wike, Mrs okpara, omeriji, daisy okocha and many others. You saw how it played out against Amaechi/dakuku and wike. You also saw it play out against Amaechi/local govt chairmen and wike. Tell me of one case apart from tribunal cases that has favoured Amaechi.

It's very much public knowledge that petitions have been forwarded to the EFCC against Amaechi but the EFCC, being under the full control of the Presidency can pick and choose what petitions to honour. If the EFCC has chosen to ignore anything about Amaechi as is evident, what do you expect Rivers govt to do?

The vetting by security agencies before clearance by the Senate would have only taken cognisance of ongoing investigations or cases and conveniently, there is none against Amaechi so why wouldn't he become Minister?

Keep to the subject and reason accordingly please. The issue between Abati and Buhari wasn't on financial crime or fraud. It was an issue of defamation of character as alleged by Buhari against Abati so of course, the offended party took recourse to the court.

Do not be blinded by sentiments. The entire petition beats logic. It was hastily put together to disqualify Amaechi hi from becoming a minister. The Efcc and DSS I believe, looked into the petiband discovered it was borne out of malice. Aside the so called white paper by the Omeriji commission the state govt has not made any meaningful move. They hide behind the curtain to shout obout a petition sent by one man who calls himself a group. What stops the govt from instituting their own process thru the AG.

btw I brought in Reuben Abati's issue to erase the believe that the rivers state govt will not get justice in court because there's an APC govt at the centre.

As for jurisdiction, rivers state is the first port of call. So that shouldn't be a problem.
The govt can go on to institute a case against him if they feel he has any to answer. Why cry of witch hunt when you can also wield your power too. Who does not know that the judiciary in rivers (both federal and state) is under wike's active control.
