HeavenlyBang: Don't buy a 05/06. They had issues with their auto transmissions. 2007+ is fine, though.
The 2007 TL is an excellent car, bonus points if you get a Type S. Enough luxury, performance, and reliability. Power train will easily get to 300K miles without any issues, and the interior build quality will not fall apart--two statements I can't make about the C230. Thanks a billion. I really appreciate. Your advice just ended my search. I am grateful. |
Car Talk › Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by ogtavia(m): 5:16pm On Aug 25, 2018 |
HeavenlyBang: Yes, it's probably your best bet, since the C Class was facelifted that year. Though, I must add. It's a massive step down from an E Class to a C Class, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you're not bent on getting a three-pointed star, why not look at other cars?
The 2009 Infiniti G37 is a beast, and will outperform pretty much any non-AMG W204. It was built by Infiniti to copy and challenge the BMW 3-series, and we all know that 3-series>>C Class in terms of driving ability.
Another excellent performance choice is the GS350. RWD, and 300+ HP. It's way more luxurious than the C Class–positioned against the E Class–and also outperforms it, although the C Class may handle slightly better.
A good balance between luxury and performance is the Acura TL with SH-AWD. 286 HP, a distinct design factor, and enough luxury.
Lastly, if you're looking for ultimate luxury, look at the LS460. You won't have as much fun driving it as you would the C Class but it's just wayyyyy more car. Bro, I am considering buying an Acura TL 05 - 06 as my first personal car. Was considering the 2005 c230 or 2009 toyota corolla but cost in both cases and performance in the case of the corolla seem to be a challenge for me. I have read reviews and watched videos about the Acura TL 05 - 06 and it seems it's a balance between a benz and a lexus in terms of performance, fuel mileage,Interior design and overall cost. What do you think about the Acura TL bro? |

Ignatio: They really put much work in this movie. money too. Every effort worth it. My ticket is booked already.
Your opinion though but know that 99% of hollywood storylines you watch are mediocre and stereotyped. My opinion bro. I am a huge Genevieve fan though. |

petsam11: No offense bro! And I must say that u are entitled to ur opinion... But from this trailer that I just watched, this movie is going to be everything wonderful and amazing that the word "mediocrity" won't even have a space to come out of critics mouths... not only will it open a lot more doors for Genny and Nollywood again like "Road to Yesterday" did for her and Nollywood in 2016 TIFF, but this time it will be something overwhelming... did u see the graphics, picture quality, the galaxy of stars in this movie,... a lot of ppl will be anticipating cos even if dem tell me say Me. P fit act before now I no go believe, Pyhno too, not to talk of our legends dem... just wait till this movie hits Nigerian and other African Cinemas... Even before the announcement of dates that it will start showing in the Cinemas, the tickets go finish for air before e reach ground!
We have been hearing of Nollywood blockbusters but Mehn! This will create another record for Nollywood blockbusters/box office to follow... Wedding party o, Wives of strike o, okafor's law, 76, 93 days, dry, 30 Days in Atlanta, 10 Days in Suncity o, etc which are very wonderful movies but dey will all be like a child's play to this movie (Lionheart) with the cash out in the Cinemas... I am not exaggerating... Na fact I dey talk!!!
This movie will definitely take Nollywood to another extraordinary level quote me anywhere... I dey believe Genevieve's Doings!!! Infact I too dey believe her Workings pass anybody for that industry men and women alike!!! Even Onyeka Onwenu confirmed this in her interview with Wazobia TV shortly after d shooting of this movie... she said "Genny knows what many of us that has been in the industry even before her doesn't know! Just wait and see her... she is coming...." No offense taken bro. I never said the movie won't be a good one. Good stories can still be told and retold many times generating different experiences and excitement each time. I equally agree that some hollywood movies also have mediocre and stereotypical story lines. My criticism wasn't based on graphics but content. I noticed most times when nollywood modernists talk about blockbusters, they speak more of graphics and presentation. For instance, wedding party 1 was great : graphics, presentation and then story (though plastic). But Wedding party 2 was horrible but had great visuals, array of stars and was shot at great locations. October 1 was hyped but I wasn't too impressed when I saw it. Vintage/classic nollywood had better stories, if you doubt me, go and watch rattlesnake, owo blow, living in bondage and a few of them. A movie becomes boring when people can predict what will likely happen at the end and be 75% correct. I am a huge nollywood fan especially of it's vintage movies. Genny's movie will be great cos she knows her onions. But a great movie goes beyond visuals and pictures, the storyline must be riveting. |

The storyline seems mediocre or at least a nollywood stereotype but the ensemble/array of old actors who we haven't seen in a long while sure makes me long to watch the movie. |

Emmy2009: I'm good at cooking or should i say i dey try. But no matter how i try to fry my beef it doesnt actually taste like the fried beef shared in ceremonies like burial and marriage. Please is there a special something added to the meat or is there a procedure i am not following. Boil your meat with seasoning i.e curry, thyme, scent leaves( if you like). Then fry it with a quality brand of vegetable oil. Afterwards, prepare a tasty tomato sauce, pour and stir the fried meat in it. Then leave it to soak...Thank me later. |

LordKO: You're wise. The OP and his ilk doesn't seems to understand that there's a difference between sense of responsibility and ego. See them trying so hard to gloss laziness, selfishness, self-centeredness and greediness with garb of equality - nay sharing bills. Volitional and conscientious assumption of responsibility (by both parties) based on individual's immediate capability is a true sign of oneness and validation of equality. Marriage isn't a commercial enterprise where partners shares things based on the size of equity one own/hold. The sacredness of marriage lies in mutual altruism, kindness and sincerity.
If a couple share bills this month - instead of each person making volitional and sincere contribution based on immediate capability - it means that if one of the parties runs out of resources in the future due to unforseen life circumstances, s/he should and would be abandoned. Bumpkins don't seem to understand that loyalty is earned. The world still sees men as providers so I find it odd for people to equate duty with ego. I shouldn't be applauded for paying my son's school fees or paying the rent. Problem is there is a lot of silliness happening on social media so much so that many people have gotten marriage, adulthood and correct behaviour twisted. |

People are crazy sha. They think this is America where someone like trump can come and win presidential election. If this ever happens in less than a year, he/she will get impeached or decamp to the majority party. Imagine having say, an ANN president then a Senate filled with APC and PDP...infact, this is a pipe dream. I am of the opinion that anyone who wants to get into politics in Nigeria and go far should start young, start small and draw a beeline from associating with the current corrupt political class. |

E BruncleZuma: The two institutions are doing two things sabotaging and regulating. The cryptos they can't control , they sabotage. So this is why it's risky to deal in cryptos. I now get it. Thanks a lot. |

BruncleZuma: The ether is flooded with dubious cryptos and ghost coins I started in 2012 and pulled out last two years.
Let the market bury it's dead. Oh I now understand it. There is no standardization whatsoever, so everyone makes their own rule. However, what if this changes in the future? All it needs is for an entity to step in and change the game. Once banks and government see some potentials, they might key in and you never can tell how far it will go. Is this right? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Venezuelan Bolivar - What Can It Buy You? by ogtavia(m): 10:15am On Aug 22, 2018 |
BruncleZuma: Short term only ...and anyone getting in now is doing so quite late. Why so late? Isn't every time a good time to invest? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Venezuelan Bolivar - What Can It Buy You? by ogtavia(m): 10:12am On Aug 22, 2018 |
BruncleZuma: OG, crypto ain't real money...it is a digital currency.
Crypto is a distributed ledger that stores a contract between two parties. It is like if your bank had a noticeboard with everybody's transactions displayed on it without the individuals names but with identifying codes.
Every transaction is enabled by envelopes called blocks and these blocks are mathematical problems that some other person solves to create.
The individuals who solve this mathematical problems get rewarded with a certain unit of your transaction which we will call transaction fee.
Now remember money is backed by different things to make them valuable for use in goods and services exchange. This could be gold, a strong economy (Viz US Dollar) or something else.
And this is called fiat money, now crypto ideally has no fiat money backing and as such is a threat to banks and other institutions who act as middlemen when you buy or sell things.
That is why the level of adoption of cryptos are very low and also cryptos are not regulated hence there are over 10,000 different cryptos.
To show how dangerous and fickle cryptos are a certain adjustment by coinmarketplace of their rankings and valuation of cryptos caused a major panic and almost destroyed the values of several crypto-currencies. Thanks a lot. If cryptos have no flat backing, what then are it's advantages?. At times, you will hear it's proponents say, it's for the future bla bla bla. Does it have investment potentials that will pay off in the future? |
