mktinsight:
For storage assume that a 24v 200ah lithium battery like felicitys has 3000 cycles and stores 14,400 kwh over its lifetime. It costs 430k naira or 30 naira per kwh. A 24v 200ah lead acid deep cycle battery bank discharged at 50% daily with 1,800 cycles stores 4,320 kwh over its lifetime and costs roughly 300k or 69 naira per kwh. .
I hope the highlighted is indeed an assumption and not the reality

One cycle is counted when the accumulated discharge reaches a lower SOC over any chronological period. The battery bank were changed by the grid or solar before reaching a cycle threshold.
Actually cycle count is more complicated than that, for the victron BMV a cycle is counted after a charge to full where full is determined by the combination of voltage, tail current and time indicated on the BMV. So if those settings are not realistically set then cycle count will be grossly inaccurate but if you set them up properly then you will likely be close to accuracy.

For instance in a lithium world of a 24v set, putting a full voltage at anything above 27v will likely result to fewer circle count(similar concept will apply to LA).

Ultimately I have found circle count may not be as reliable as using the cumulative discharge unless the settings is properly done to make cycle count data more reliable. Yes if you use cumulative it's likely to be slightly more than the actual battery cycle count but it's better to estimate higher than way lower or better still average on both data source wink

Ojeysky.

Thanks for the explanation, my question is, Are you guys/other people experiencing a similar reduction in harvest.

I also learnt a failing battery bank or a bad battery in the mix could cause poor harvest again.
Sure I normally experience this though now my panel is oversized so i don't notice anymore. In other to check if it's a failing battery, you could introduce load and see if the instantaneous yield will increase significantly if it doesn't then you are good with battery

Is ot just me, or panel degradation setting in.
A 2kw panel array on 60amps cc. 24v inverter struggles to hit 6kw with all the intense sunlight this period.

Same setup easily hit 6.8kw previously.
Is anybody experiencing similar poor harvest?.
Max instantenous i observed was 1.3kw by noon.

What could be the cause?.
Installation about 4 yrs old chinese panels
Sun movement and panel tilt

The controllers wouldn’t cost you an arm and leg. If you’re on the market for a controller, make me an offer.

95k for the battery, if you are buying more than one (and I will add a Victron balancer for free). The batteries had only been cycled 13 times (never gone below 70%), and they’re as good as new.
To have done 28kAH it's likely it will be more than 13 cycles in practice. You may need to check settings on your victron, though it may no longer be necessary as you've moved to LFP, also I guess you meant never gone below 70% DOD.
Happy sales!

Audi a6 3.2 FSI quattro is one of the rugged sedans ever made.

Use recommended oils, have your vagcom and have someone from itire for parts on speed dial. U will never drive a toyota again.

Q7 3.6 liter engine FSI is also another good product. Cant say for any other.
I have this 08 enroute for grabs. It's my first time of buying an Audi but the engine and interior just caught my attention

I earlier gave you an example with 300w, you have to leave the 2 I have highlighted above out of it. However if you must use them. A. Typical non inverter AC will do 1000w and freezer maybe 200w. That's 2200 so just multiply earlier quotation in 7 folds. grin

No specific hours bro. Just want it to power my house when ever their is power failure.
My brother when it comes to planning for renewable energy, your needs has to be clearly stated o.... Before I go and advice you on what won't meet your expectation. However I will give you an idea. Assuming you need 10hrs backup time daily outside of sun hours and you have a load of 300w. That will be 3.6kw (assuming we factor in .8 Inverter efficiency) and that's 150AH @24v.

- Lead acid 200AH x 4 (so you maintain 40% DOD) or 200AH lithium
- 300w X 2 (add to the 4 you currently have)
- 60A charge controller

Note that the above is in consideration that you have utility to charge the battery as well otherwise you will need to increase your panels if your utility is not relatively constant.

Hello house, please can I use 3.5kva pure sine wave inverter for deep freezer
Of course you can, a typical freezer needs max 300w and that is the power guzzlers and if it surge it could do at X3 to x5 where X is running consumption is still well within your capacity

Why did you decide to use 3.5kva? I assume it's due to your planned load?

First, your load matters most but with that inverter capacity, 750w panel is too small. I will suggest you change your inverter to 1.5kva max or increase your panel size

Experts in the house, pls why does a solar set up harvest more when in use ( I.e loads on them are on) than when they are not in use ( I.e when loads on them are off)?
Because your battery has taken what it requires (to charge) and the panel/cc still have more to serve your load

Not just any cloud, I needed to connect to my eWelink Account, it's same thing I would have done on my phone if I needed to configure the default sonoff basic. It's the same thing you and I are doing when we connect to our mail service through a client (e.g phone app)

That said, I probably will flash tasmota in future but that will be to address situation where my internet connection is down.
So I eventually had to do the bolded, reason was because I figured out that the API for ewilink was not accepting multiple sonoffs on an account concurrently. So my R2 sonoff is what I still maintain on ewilink api while all my R3 has been tasmotised, by the way it's now easier to flash R3 sonoff without having to open up to swap jumpers.

Thanks.

It's a 48v system. 100amp SCC, 320 watts panel each, 3s2p stat and sure to add more strings in future expansion.

Ordinarily what I would have done had the roof been accessible is to use the panel cables as they come (without extensions) and no junction box (just 3-to-1 MC4 multi), then use a 6mm or 10mm all the way to the SCC.

But with the requirement of an extension, I was thinking 6mm as extension will not be too bad, and then 10mm from the junction box.

I totally agree with your suggestion of a heavier guage from the battery to inverter (I've always used heavier guages for even smaller system, let alone this). And the inverter is 5kva/48v, so that will be some work horse handling heavy loads.
It's certainly not bad bro, after all a typical panel cable is within 4 to 8(my 280w is 4mm), your 320 is probably 6mm already so I think you are good
