As new one forms, it is still 52 weeks low.

It is left for you to find way of determining when the last low will appear.

Or you buy when you feel you have got a good bargain. From ATH of 293 to 17.50 is 94% fall. grin grin
Any chances of it move forward anytime soon, any hope for dividends?

Anybody using a samsung inverter fridge?
thinking of going against my better judgement, and going for a samsung frost free inverter fridge, seems all manufacturers except haier thermoccol have gone the route of frost free.

nigeria with epileptic power supply isnt so ideal for frost free fridges, however with the 30w consumption of an LG inverter by JUO, i think my modest setup can handle the fridge running 24/7.

LG burnt me badly in the freezer i bought 2 years ago, very poor chilling and doesnt retain cold, 4 to 6hrs after power off, freezer chamber is almost lukewarm!
thus i decided not to go near any LG fridge or freezer again
Why not go for the particular lg inverter fridge since there is testimony about it's performance already.

errrm, i think the first advice is: placing 10kw load on a 48v 400ah bank is a big NO NO.
Using C/10 rule, maz load you should place on the bank is about 2kw. for lead acid battery, even LIPO4 bank may not be able to handle such a huge instantenous load.

even if you counter and say the panel will handle the load, you and i know that panel harvest isnt steady, cos you need to be assured of steady 8kw minimum from the panels to surport the bank to carry the load at all times
LFP will be fine with more than C/10 but the limitation will then set in on the BMS of the LFP. Most BMS are 100A but if he can go for high capacity BMS then he should be fine pulling up to 0.5C concurrent with burst allowance without negative effect on the bank. Nevertheless the higher he pull from a charge 400Ah the lower backup time, so as you've stated he certainly will need significant PV array! I will say 12 to 15kw and above.

I kept quiet because I didn't want to get into what looks like a political argument on a solar forum. The problem with Nigeria is that everyone expects everyone else to change while we continue to do our own thing. A bribe-guzzling policeman want a good leader. The 419 guys complain about Buhari or Jonathan or whoever is in power. The student who cheats in his school exams joins protest against a minister who does not have NYSC discharge certificate. The businessmen who started selling N450 glove for N5000 because of corona is complaining about Gbajabiamila buying G-Wagon for his wife. The idiotic pot-bellied smelling lecturer sleeping with female students young enough to be his grand daughters in order to pass them will call himself a socialist and go on strike because of IPPIS.

Our leaders are aggregates of us. They will never be better than the average of us. Even if we get a conscientious leader, the crooks who will surround him and work with him will destroy his efforts. Leadership is important, but with a followership that is not prepared to play its part, we are going nowhere. It is like having a good driver but with a bus full of incorrigible passengers who are distracting him, taunting him, banging things in the car and even wrestling the steering and the gear with him. The bus will eventually end up in the bush.

We all need to play our parts. Until we do so, we will keep complaining about how bad the country is. As we lay our bed, so shall we lie on it.
The above is why Nigeria may never change in years to come. I used to say the above in the past but not anymore, not with the reality of poverty and illiteracy that exist in this country. A major change through the masses will be almost impossible in this country as there are just too many interests, go and look to various protests, it's either they are funded by opposition parties or ruling party.

A policeman that stops collecting bride hence stops delivering to Oga at the top will only loose his job, or promotion if not his life, but if Oga at the top show leadership by celebrating those that do not collect bribes and prosecute those that does without favouritism, you will see how people will seat up. The sex for marks lecturer will lockup their zip if the VC showed leadership by truly applying zero tolerance for such act.

I maintain that a bottom up approach to change things in this country will not be effective, only a top down will, and those who keep saying the change begins with you and I (who do not have the power to make policies) are just motivational speakers at best, otherwise that change would have happened already.

In an attempt to make this solar related, Imagine if things were organised in naija, solar procurement will have made more sense, for instance my unused generation would have been fed back into the grid thereby making money. grin

Apologies for contributing to this particular topic, I rest my case!

Las las na d same people kill Jesus. Cut his ministry short. Took a criminal over him. Sent him to the cross

The problem of Nigeria is certainly not leadership we have been hearing that since 1960 nothing has changed

Let every body be reasonable and responsible and lets see if we will not live much better

One thing about a Nigerian is dat, he or she will never take responsibility for their own acrions, they is always someone to blame for their short comings
If you think this is about blame game then I can tell you that is not my goal...... apart from taking responsibility by voting in good leaders(assuming it's easy to identify one at the ballot), trying to make a change in this country from bottom to top is unrealistic and impractical. Not with the level of poverty/illetracy that exists among millions.

However I know it will be very much easier to make a change from top to bottom and that is where leadership is important. If we've been complaining about leadership since 1960, it doesn't mean that it is no longer valid, it simply means that we've not yet gotten a good leader since then. Just go and read a little about how Singapore made so much progress or look at what made Dubai what it is today, it's not the millions of people...... It's rather the decision of a leader to get the millions of people to move their country in a progressive direction.

As to Jesus ministry, if his ministry died(or was cut short) we both won't be talking about Christ today.

Even with BMS, cells fail !
So I laugh when people make such claims as you just did, everyone should do his part, it is the people that become leaders, the leader is just one person, the led are the majority.
There will always be a Judas but the ministry of Jesus still progressed because the head (Jesus) was resolute and he also revealed the Judas, a leader should be able to identify the Judas and evidently act so it serves as example to others.

Yes everyone should do it's part which is what is happening right now but with the right leadership everyone will confidently do their part to the positive development of a collective goal. Yes a leader is just one person, but that is one person that everyone else looks unto and there goes the difference!

To the BMS yes you are right and as a leader (that made the choice of installing a BMS which has given you information of a bad cell), what should you do? Leave the bad cell to continue to disrupt your goal rather you lead by example by introducing a cell at same level with others so you can achieve optimal capacity! So let's keep laughing while the country is dieing cool

Thanks guys. Apologies for the late reply. I just finished work. I'm glad for this nairaland Forum. It's an eye opener for me. Actually, I bought my first Toyota corolla 03 from Cars45 for 1.2m and honestly, it was graded level C and ever since then, I have put in nearly 500k in repairs. I managed to revive the car now and I was thinking of swapping it with a Lexus ES330 I saw on their website. Sincerely, from what you guys just said, I think I better keep my corolla as it gives me perfect services now, rather than picking up a new trouble from cars45. I appreciate guys..
You could have just bought a toks civic of year 03-05 for same price.. thereby saving the 500k

So just an update.
Decided to open up the must power, and observed that the ribbon tape feeding the display was gradually pulling free. Pushed it back firmly and powered the inverter.
I am glad to announce that my inverter screen is back.
Working ok now. Always good to tey basic diy before trying the repair shop

2nd question.
Noticed the remote port connection on the mustpower.is anybody using his.where did you buy the remote module??
Isn't the mustpower an axpert variant? If yes then the normal rs 232 to usb should work.

Why are you going back again oga Ojesky

If your 3kva "INVERTER" is truly 2.4kva as you said, then what is the maximum capacity (Load) the inverter can power?

If I am tossed your INVERTER labelled "3KVA", without any other info, I'll simple multiply the 3 by 0.8(pf) which would sum to (2.4kw) which is the max load your inverter can do.

Then with few encounters I have with several UPS, the UPS here is the regular office unit used to protect Computers from tripping in the case of ligth outs. The Power factor is about 0.65 which means the max capability of load would be lower than an Inverter. They are always stated on every UPS.
Actually I made a typo in my previous post, maximum load is 2.4kw not 2.4kva[1] that's why I said "true rating", I have another 3kva inverter and the true rating is 3kw (my guess is that the inverter is probably 3.5kva hence pf has been taken care of). However both of them Felicity and MPP are advertised as 3kva.

So you see why I say, just stating a rating without relating it to specific manufacturer spec could have a difference.

Cheers
1. PW=PVA X 0.8

But the question was if "1.5kva UPS has the same capacity as a 1.5kva Inverter"

980w isn't same as 1200w

UPS has lower pf than inverters.
Well if the UPS is truly rated 1.5kva then it's the same with a truly rated 1.5kva inverter. My inverter is rated 3kva but it's true rating is 2.4kva

No, a 1.5kva UPS isn't same as Inverter.

My previously used APC UPS 1.5Kva has capacity of 980W while my present 1.5kva Inverter has 1200w.
Just as you can have a 980w inverter

good evening great minds, please I will appreciate if answers can be gotten for the following questions.

1). Those 1.5kva UPS has the same capacity with 1.5kva inverter?

2). Can 1.5kva UPS carry energy saving freezer (200w) ?

3). How can I fix bad solar battery (I picked an old solar battery from someone. He stopped using it about 10 years ago cause he relocated to a place with stable electricity and didn't see the need to use it again. I guess the battery got spoilt in the process of abandonment) ?

4). Can a solar panel of 40w change a solar battery of 100ah successful without using solar charge controller?

Thanks for your anticipated positive response
1. Theoretically yes but it then depends on the efficiency of the inverter

2. Sure it should

3. Forgot it, such a battery is dead

4. That panel size of too small, get 250w and you need a charge controller to charge the battery, please don't connect panels directly to battery it's not safe
