Politics / Re: Homosexuals Storm National Assembly by ojimboIV: 4:59pm On Mar 13, 2009
debosky:

It is the same irrational fear white people had for black people.

Someone here is claiming gays are the most violent? Someone will soon give you information that the worst diseases like Ebola and AIDS come from Africans, so ban them forever or lock them up. undecided

What is clear is this - your sexual orientation should NOT be used for discrimination.

Apart from paedophilia and incest with clearly established negative connotations for both the involved parties and others, no sexual activity should be legislated against.

If they insist on copying marriage (an institution created for a man and a woman) then I will oppose that. They can call theirs whatever names they please and organise it outside churches and mosques.

But they should not be locked up, in the similar way no one should be locked up for wearing trousers, or deciding to shave their head.

I do not support homosexuality, but that is a personal opinion that should never be forced on another person. Leave them be - as long as they pay taxes and don't forcefully co-opt people, they are free to associate with like minded people as they please.

u for talk for where dem agree that one. because i no think say straight & gay people for naija go ever hold dat kind meeting wey dem no kill demselves b4 meeting end.

look, if not for the terrible state of the government, i for propose taxing some of these churches at the corporate band because that is what they are - thriving institutions. they can no longer be classed as non-profit charitable organisations.
Politics / Re: Homosexuals Storm National Assembly by ojimboIV: 4:25pm On Mar 13, 2009

Politics / Re: Three Versions Of 2009 Budget In Circulation by ojimboIV: 11:27am On Jan 16, 2009
just when u think it can't get any worse, they pull another sleazy trick out of the hat. it can only be interpretted as 'neglect' of duties in our courts unfortunately. kudos to the opposition for whistle-blowing on this one. but will someone be held accountable for this 'corrupt act' is the million dollar question.
Politics / Re: Is Nigeria The Capital Of Hell? by ojimboIV: 12:31am On Jan 14, 2009
this is one 'hell' of a thread. i no kill myself with laff today.
Politics / Re: Is Nigeria The Capital Of Hell? by ojimboIV: 11:23am On Jan 13, 2009

Politics / Re: Bauchi Governor Under Fire Over N65b Spending On Wives, Others by ojimboIV: 6:17pm On Jan 07, 2009
The allegation that the governor squandered about N500million on the First Ladies is untrue. There is no iota of truth in this and, to us, the allegation is not new. Governor Yuguda does not spend state’s resources on the activities of the First Ladies.

grin grin grin grin grin. it's naija.
Politics / Re: Between Nigerians, Ribadu, Corruption And Cowardice. by ojimboIV: 9:07pm On Jan 06, 2009
it's a no win situation. whether we like it or yes, we need transparency in government. all this thief-catch-thief merry-go-round will not get us out of this mess.
the NASS has been sitting on the FOI bill for ages, i'm hoping as part of this bill there is provision for access to information on expenditure of public funds. else, i'm sorry we're in for another round robin of corruption until further notice.
Politics / Re: Farida Waziri's Corrupt Deals by ojimboIV: 3:52pm On Jan 05, 2009
i've said it time and again. until we stop playing this stupid 'catch up' game, we'll still remain in this gutter. na government money aunty dey use by buy 'intelligence+kickbacks' to use find money wey our uncles don thief. and while she's at it, focus is lost on the current folks wey dey loot state treasury. only for the empty process to repeat itself years later. i still believe transparency is key in getting us out of this terrible situation.
Politics / Re: With An Agf Like Aondoakaa by ojimboIV: 5:00pm On Jan 04, 2009
what more can i say. from the word go i never liked bro. mike and the other mike (igp). these 2 folks are nothing but airheads looking to plunge naija into further mire.

as a matter of fact add Y'A to that list.
Politics / Re: No Okada In Port Harcourt by ojimboIV: 4:54pm On Jan 04, 2009
no mot, no insurance, no training whatsoever. for those of us flying bikes here and there, have u ever paused for a second to ask if d rider is ok or qualified? some of dem dey down shekpe and things finish and dem dey ride around town dey give folks injuries. abeg abeg abeg make dem go rest for half time.
the terrible state of our ph roads don't justify their presence. perhaps this is a wake up call to rerrange and expand our roads.
it's sad to say but even the town planners and developers are not making use of their heads. can u imagine how the accesibility of the recently developed settlements (borikiri sand-filled for example) are messed up? maybe okada union people lobby dem to make the roads small like that so dem fit sell land and promote okada. i tire men.
Politics / Re: The Nigerian Obama - The Time Is Now - The Choice Is Who: ? by ojimboIV: 2:37pm On Jan 02, 2009

Politics / Re: Enugu High Court convicts Igbinedion, fines him N3.5 million by ojimboIV: 7:33pm On Dec 19, 2008
this is waziri's first high-profile prosecution. i guess we all know what follows after this. a massive swarm of guilty pleas to 'negligence'. watch and see how everyone else falls in line. nigeria home video at it's finest.
Politics / Re: Enugu High Court convicts Igbinedion, fines him N3.5 million by ojimboIV: 6:48pm On Dec 19, 2008
i don't know if you guys have noticed the terms of the conviction yet? the guy wasn't even charged with corruption, rather the buzzword in the 1-count charge is 'negligence'. hehehe. grin grin grin

maybe it's me, but is this 'rule of no law' thing starting to smell?
Politics / Re: Efcc And Nigeria Anti-corruption War by ojimboIV: 6:34pm On Dec 19, 2008
only in nigeria can open-air looting (STEALING!!!) be translated to mean official misconduct and negligence. i don vex so tay i begin laugh. this is disturbing indeed. it sets a precedence for all those already looting or about to that they can 'neglect' their duties while in public office.
Politics / Re: Confirmed: End Of Corruption War by ojimboIV: 6:04pm On Dec 19, 2008
this whole thing doesn't make sense at all?

a lot of contradictions here.
1. who prosecuted the case?
2. they should tell nigerians how 191 charges reduced to 1 charge.
3. was the efcc not informed of the progress of this case, and why now are they being dramatic?
4. how can they all of a sudden come up with a fall guy, when he acted on the authority of the ex. gov?
5. why is the bogus company to blame, when it is obvious the ex. gov used it as a means to siphon state money?
6. this guy is alleged to have looted over $30million, how can he pay only $25k in return? it beats me.

absolute buuuullllshit!

i think i need to wake up and smell the coffee. this spells it out in black and white - 'corruption is here to stayeeeeeee'
Politics / Re: Confirmed: End Of Corruption War by ojimboIV: 10:21am On Dec 19, 2008
i think i'm having another bad dream.
Politics / Re: List Of Ministers: Nigeria Is Doomed? by ojimboIV: 1:04pm On Dec 18, 2008
if bro. mike is agf, anything and i mean anybody can be minister provided they kiss enough asses and things.
Politics / Re: List Of Ministers: Nigeria Is Doomed? by ojimboIV: 12:37pm On Dec 18, 2008
gen. abbe has been in the scene for like forever now. we are yet to know of his track record. this must be one very bad dream i swear.
Politics / Re: List Of Ministers: Nigeria Is Doomed? by ojimboIV: 12:32pm On Dec 18, 2008
and they expect us to believe things will change? absolute bullsh*t. this YA guy is just doing the same old thing, controlled by the same old folks and at the detriment of the common man. how can he justify sam egwu's appointment? i'm tired men.
Politics / Re: Gani Fawehinmi Rejects National Honour (OFR) by ojimboIV: 9:34am On Dec 16, 2008
this is the height of true patriotism. YA can dole out honours to whomever, but to what national good? i think it's time our leaders dwelt more on the collective good than on personal gains.

YA watch and learn!
Politics / Re: Yar'adua Stays As Supreme Court Upholds Election by ojimboIV: 5:31pm On Dec 15, 2008
bro. mike is somewhere chilling with his small stout. xmas came very early for him. he's probably masterminding some next level conspiracy stunts. in my books aondoakaa 1 - 0.
Politics / Re: Graduates Not Employable? - Yar'adua Said So! by ojimboIV: 8:20pm On Dec 14, 2008
this is the craziest thing i've ever heard in recent times. i think he should start by calling out members of his cabinet. this guy just doesn't get it.
Politics / Re: Yar'adua Stays As Supreme Court Upholds Election by ojimboIV: 4:40pm On Dec 12, 2008
all hail YA, alas! the 'rule of no law' shall be our portion until further notice.
Politics / Re: Ribadu Flees Nigeria? by ojimboIV: 5:41pm On Dec 09, 2008
well, when he was in the public domain, the likes of bro. mike and ibori were having the time of their lives, with ibori scoring a hat-trick. it's amazing how some folks can celebrate the fact that corruption and 'change the rule of law as you go' are winning in nigeria.
Politics / Re: Ribadu Flees Nigeria? by ojimboIV: 1:00pm On Dec 09, 2008
@software. you can go ahead and add bro. mike and YA to that class.
aondoakaa as agf is the worst thing that has happened to the nigerian judicial system.
Politics / Re: Osunbor To Become Niger Delta Minsiter? by ojimboIV: 12:53pm On Dec 09, 2008
no source, no credibility, no vote.
Politics / Re: Ribadu Flees Nigeria? by ojimboIV: 12:43pm On Dec 09, 2008
i can't help but feel the vengeful vendetta amongst folks here.
the guy tried for some of us who didn't think we would see the day when corrupt officials will quake in their boots for fear of looting public funds.
at least i saw a glimpse of it no matter how imperfect it may have been in the eyes of some of my fellow citizens. but as the adage goes 'only a mad man can decide to stand and fight a masquerade in the village square'. if u need further clarification ask gov. amaechi.
i believe ribadu understands the system just as the corrupt establishment does. so my pals cre8 and muz why don't u ask ibori, who's legacy was to transfer nothing less than N5m to his 'contractors' daily, why he was never around when he had tonnes of cases against him?
