Ok, thanks for the correction. What was Governor Mbakwe’s standing argument that made the Supreme court allow Rivers state win. Was ethnicity a factor in the argument or just boundary adjustment?

Somebody posted the supreme court ruling in this platform recently,you can search for it and read it.
Obigbo,Egbema etc...was in East Central and Imo state from 1967/76 until Mamman Nasir boundary adjustment commission ceded it to Rivers state in 1976.People of then Imo state saw it as an unfair decision and the reason it was challenged in court by the people's governor.

I don’t think it was Mbakwe that took Rivers state government to court? It was in the military rule if I’m not mistaken.

Boundary adjustment was done in 1976 under military but Gov Sam Mbakwe challenge the decision in court in early 80s under civilian rule.

Pazi is not an IPOB from my understanding. But I’ve realized that he’s easily emotional and manipulative when it comes to issues that concerns Ndigbo. And that I’m deeply disappointed with. I don’t hide my own. Rather than be emotional sit up and be tactical. I expected answer such as the following.

1. Are there Igbo denials in Ohaneze-Ndigbo, yes. What is the solution? Expel them. The Igbo identity is not for sale and must be guided with pride.

2. Do the federal government recognize the likes of Ika, Ikwerre etc as Igbos? If yes, petition the federal government and question that decision. Ask the government to henceforth deny these elements that identity. Deny them and tell Nigerians their true status.

3. Are they Igbo ethnic groups in Rivers state etc? If yes, petition the federal government and sue Rivers state to court. Pray the courts to rescind the federal government boundary adjustment which needed these areas to Rivers state and ask they be returned back to their original states which is either Imo or Abia. Just like Akwa-Ibom got her oil wells from Cross Rivers, you too can bring us back.to the SE. Period.

If Igbos can understand this country, we won't cry wolf at every given opportunity. Everything must not be seen from the prism of Biafra. Read up what Pazienza wrote up there and you’l see how he stylishly brought in Biafra into the picture. If you must fight for the Igbo nation, or Igbo political survival, or Igbo ethnic identity come clean.

I agree with your opening statement and with no1 and 2 but disagree with no3 and my reasons are as follows.
1.Dee Sam Mabkwe took federal government to court over Obigbo in early 80s and lost at supreme court.
2.Any effort to bring back Igbo communities in Rivers state back to Abia and Imo states should be headed by the concerned communities in Rivers state not people from SE while they are assured of our full support.
Any move by SE to form a union with Igbo speaking communities in Rivers will be ridiculed by same Igbo Judases in Rivers communities by the likes of Wike and co.We can not bring you back if you are not making any effort to come back,any move by SE will be seen as land grabbing.
It will be more effective if you guys are agitating to be merged with SE not SE agitating on your behalf to be merged with you.

We suffer a lot too because we identify as Igbos? A lot must be done, but it's not by noise on nairaland.
