Obiagelli is by no means pro Zik.She is typical awoist hiding under false pretence to attack Ojukwu. Btw,Zik was in full support of Biafra independent struggle and even composed her national anthem he left Biafra in 1969 when it became certain the battle is lost.M.I. Okpara was Ojukwu's political adviser and even went into exile with him.

So brother, empirically i know Abia more than you do. O.U.K even though not near perfect was far better than T.A Orji.
nwanna can you name ouk achievement and protects in umuahia and abia state in general? Anyway both of them are failure but in my opinion T.A Orji have done more than Ouk.btw I am from abia too.

Abagworo: I wonder how you could have authoritatively made such statement when you are not on ground. What is happening here is more or less an Ijaw conspiracy against Rivers people. They believe Rivers is Ijawland while Rivers people prefer being Rivers. Amaechi is a King as far as this upland Rivers is concerned. Onyesom Nwa-ike is just a political jobber whose influence starts and ends at a village known as Rumueme in Obio/Akpo and some part of Eliozu in Obio/Akpo based on forced initiation of young men into cultism..

On Orji Kalu, I hope you know he commands more respect in Abia than the present Governor and his party PPA won Imo and Abia States only for Igbos in their characteristic manner to betray him.

Okorocha Is A Disappointment To Imo People – Anglican Bishop

Rt. Rev. Bright Ogu

The Bishop emeritus of the Anglican Diocese of Mbaise, Rt. Rev. Bright Ogu has launched a scathing attack on the governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s administration, describing it as a disappointment to the people of the state.

Speaking to journalists at the second synod of the Diocese of Ikeduru, Imo State recently, Bishop Ogu lamented that Governor Okorocha ‘has disappointed many Imo people, including myself’.

He pointed out that many communities in the state had no roads and that those who had roads could no longer access them the governor had torn them open without constructing them.

In his words, “we’re seeing things happening– breaking down people’s buildings, breaking down people’s comfort and traditions; taking people’s land everywhere and building structures that cannot be finished. This cannot be said to be leadership.

“I don’t know whether breaking all the structures in government house, he will finish it before he goes because he has only one more year to go?”

The emeritus bishop said the governor was running the state as a one-man business, accusing him of not carrying him of not carrying the people of the state, including members of the state House of Assembly, along.

He condemned Governor Okorocha’s policy of stifling the state economy by not giving the youths job.

“I was sitting somewhere in the market the other day. I saw lots of graduates who have no jobs sitting somewhere discussing about the government. The former governor(Ikedi Ohakim) gave them job but this one came and took it from them by sacking them and now they have no jobs. They have become truck pushers and keke riders. Is that ideal?

“Even if we were told 10 or 20 years ago that a time shall come when graduates will not have jobs in Nigeria, i would not believe it. But, it’s happening here in Imo. One was crying two days ago that after eight years of graduation, no job. My children are part of it. So, we’re all victims”, he lamented.

Speaking on the recent declaration of Governor Okorocha to run for a second term in 2015, the cleric said it would not be possible for the governor to succeed the people had known that he had a “hidden agenda”.

He advised the people of the state to beware of the kind of politicians that come to their churches to solicit for their votes because “they come to the churches to deceive the people because Imo is a Christian and praying state”.

Rev. Ogu also condemned the governor’s defection to the All Progressives Congress(APC), saying the state had been unlucky with its governors.

According to him, the former governor of the state, Ohakim, dumped the Progressive Peoples Congress(PPA) which brought him to power and joined PDP and derailed.

“Now, our man(Rochas) has come in again. He came in with APGA and now he has derailed joining APC which is not the party that brought him into power. He has been thinking about the national level. If he was not able to take care of the state, how can he manage the national or federal level?”, he queried.

This is for those who said fajuyi choose to die with his oga.

Col. Adekunle Fajuyi was the governor of South West at the time, and the head of state, Ironsi, was staying in his house in Ibadan. So we don’t want a situation where they would say he conspired with us. So we decided the best thing to do was to open fire there even if Governor Fajuyi was also caught, so that they would just be buried together, and that was what happened.Jerry boy.

agbotaen: 1. AS an ika man , one day i went to a friends house who was a bini person,, and he was telling his brother in benin language to get him a plate and palm oil , and i was able to correctly tell him , what he said in english , his brother was surprised but he simply said , it was because ika contained lots of benin words and sentences, so also when a person is speaking igbo , i will be able to understand,.
2. i am not saying that i understand all benin sentences, but i can safely say , may be i can decipher about 40 percent, to 50 percent , but as a person born in lagos , and i understand yoruba excellently well , i was able to discover that ika has lots of similarities with yoruba in aspect of some cultures and language too, so i investigated , and discovered that yorubas also migrated into ika area, and this is well documented in umunede and other places in ika , and in orogodo area , yorubas have lived for over 100 years there , but the migration , am talking about is more than 300 years ago.
3. although when we talk about ika ethnic group , we usually talk about the influence of both edo and igbo on ika , but little is written about the yoruba connection , but it is still subject to much research , the dein of agbor and agbor history usually says that the first wife of the king of agbor came from ife or uhe as it is called in ika language , while some traditions say she was igala.
