FELLOW NIGERIANS Embezzlement of public fund is the reason Nigeria is and will remain in poor condition…..all the citizens will keep being slaves to the political class because the income/wealth is not circulating..untill you and I react, our children will keep being slaves to their children. Do you know that the power to end embezzlement of public fund lies on the EXECUTIVE and the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.The only solution is passage of bill that will prescribe DEATH SENTENCE for anybody found guilty of embezzlement of government fund…the way we have death penalty for offences like kidnapping.Embezzlement is far worse than kidnapping.keep circulating this message till it get to the national ASSEMBLY MEMBERS. 4WARD AS RECEIVED |

The only problem in this country NIGERIA lies greatly on the YORUBA-IGBO HATRED sorry to say this.... We are in trouble because these two tribes are in perpetual enemity... Anyday any of the two tribes choose to bow and allign with the other, the drama called Northern overshadow will end. The Northerners know this more than I do. The North has number while the ibo/yorubas have the brains but full of ego.... Pls don't crucify me, I only stated a hidden truth |

A twelve-year-old girl, simply known as Blessing, reportedly died when she fell into a pit latrine at Asin-Ekiti, in Ikole Local Council of Ekiti State. A witness, Ruth Bamidele, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday that the deceased was running an errand for her parents on Monday evening when the incident occurred. Bamidele said the girl mistakenly stepped on the rusty and weak concrete that covered the pit latrine and fell into it with nobody around to rescue her. She said her parents raised the alarm on Monday night when she did not return home and the search for her whereabouts continued till Tuesday morning. “One of the neighbours in search of the missing girl noticed the collapsed lid of the pit toilet in a residential building situated behind the Alasin palace. “A lifeless body was sighted inside the pit and was later brought out; it was the missing girl and the incident threw the entire community into mourning,” she said. It was learnt that the deceased was in happy mood when her parents sent her on errand on the day of the incident, unknown that it was a journey of no return. Many residents of the community were seen sympathising with the deceased parents, Rotimi and Helen, who were wailing uncontrollable. Meanwhile, the Ikole Local Council has warned all landlords in the area with uncompleted or damaged pit latrines to, as a matter of urgency, put them in good shape. Head, Environment Department in the council, Tunde Famuyisan, gave the warning yesterday when reacting to the unfortunate incident that claimed the life of the innocent girl. Famuyisan said all sanitary inspectors in the area have been directed to move from house to house to ensure that every residential building in the council has functional toilets, as well as demolish life-threatening pit toilets. He appealed to residents to give useful information to the council workers, so as to detect houses with unsafe pit toilets.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, who started his fish farm early last year, now sells more than 8,000 kilogrammes (over 8 metric tonnes) of fish to wholesale buyers on weekly basis. Located at the Aviation Village, behind the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the farm is now a beehive of activities with fish buyers trooping there. The sales manager, who identified himself simply as Mr Johnson, said the farm sells fish to buyers on Mondays and Thursdays, adding that the quantity sold used to depend on the number of ponds harvested. According to him, the fish are categorised into three: large size, weighing 2kg and above, medium size, weighing between 1kg and 2kg and small size which falls below a kilogramme. Johnson stated that a kilograme of the large fish size was sold for between N650 to N700; medium size goes for N590 to N600 while the small size are sold between N500 to N520. He said the farm dealt with only wholesale buyers who had the capacity to buy from 1 metric tonnes and above. When the reporter visited the selling point created near the farm’s gate, he saw hundreds of containers and more than ten vehicles loading fish while many others were said to have left. Although the reporter was not allowed access to the main ponds inside the farm, some workers said the farm had large ponds using aerators to purify the water and supply oxygen to help the fish grow faster. However the sales team leader said that those wishing to buy two metric tonnes and above had to notify the farm. Some of the wholesale buyers who spoke to the Daily Trust said they visit the farm on Mondays and Thursday s to buy fish which they sell to other retailers in the Kado Fish Market and other markets in and around the Federal Capital Territory. A source, however, told our reporter the farm was still under the management of the Chinese company SCC, which constructed the farm. But this claim cannot be independently verified by the reporter as staff were not willing to talk on the matter. Read more on DailyTrust
