Jobs/VacanciesRe: Geologists In The House by okeyz(m): 6:19pm On May 28, 2007
hi there
I like the initiative , although i 'm not a geologist myself but an engineer with experience in the oil and gas industry and actively seeking employment in the oil n gas industry ,i think sharing information thru this forum will be a welcome development as it will give insight and knowledge to those who do not have the prerequiste experience employers are seeking for and also share information about the latest state of the art technologies in the oil and gas /minning industries.

please i will also like those with experience to update us with journals or notes on such techs so that the upcoming ones can get to digest it at their own spare time.
we need to put in more vigor into this as the oil industry is on the verge of seeking a great crew change i.e the old guys are leaving and so there is a vacuum in most position which must be filled!
So interacting in a forum like this will give nairalanders the edge over 'others',please keep up the good work.

by the way any DRILLING ENGINEERS in the House ,pls holla back!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Don't Know What Canadian Embassy Meart By Am Not A Bonafide Student : by okeyz(m): 5:24pm On May 26, 2007
I feel ur pain ,its just one of those things ,do not limit urself to canada alone there are other countries which do not have stringent visa measures like canada and they do give visas,u can try cyprus ,central europe or eastern europe and u can latter move from there to canada ,if u wish ,,,the way i 'm seeing these canadian enmbassy staff in nigeria has hold a meeting about this issue and that is what tghey made up their warped mind to do ,,,,,they do grant visas for graduate studies from 3 to 5 years BUT NOT for POSTGRADUATE STUDY,as for ur acceptance letter,i think there must be a mix up ,if it is really at NIPOST they will deliver it to u ,,,thy have nothing to gain if they dont,,,or if someone decides to use it to impersonate u ,it cant work ,,,so just be patient.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Urgently Reply by okeyz(m): 5:16pm On May 26, 2007

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Anybody Knows About by okeyz(m): 5:08pm On May 26, 2007

fitinwell:
Will any body in this house that's as scale through canadian embassy in nigeria to study in canada tell me what they meart by am not a bonafide student,
hi there ,its a terrible thing this canadian consulate is metting out to prospective prosgraduate Nigerian student .

They rejected me last year when i applied for postgraduate studies at the university of newfoundland to study mech engine, with all my transcript and acceptance letter including a bank statement of about 5million naira and they say i'm not a bonfide student and i will not come back after the course ,can u imagine sad

However i was opportuned to talk to one of their staff and she told me that the embassy in Nigeria in particular has made up their minds not to offer study permits to postgraduate students from Nigeria ,WHY !!!, i ask ,,,and she said when they go there, they don't come back.

This is a country that says it needs more people espaecially students to come to canada, study and live there to boost their declining population ,i wonder why this particular embassy is doing this to us .

I have resolved never to have anything to do with them .

A friend of mine who is in alberta went there with a Ghananian passport from Ghana !!
So if u have been rejected don't worry try other countries like cyprus or europe or your best bet is to get another countries passport and apply thru Ghana ,i bet u they wont refuse u .

I know guys who have done it that way , so thats the way it is ,,,,,,BY THE WAY Bleep,,,,,, THE CANADIAN EMBASSY IN NIGERIA,,,,,,,I HOPE IT GETS BLOWN UP BY TERRORIST.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Got A Job At Estherbt by okeyz(m): 7:16pm On May 22, 2007
@ matured26
My advice to u is that these people are crooks and fraudsters, they obtain money from prospective, desperate and ignorant jobseekers with a promise of fabulous jobs which is not forth coming.
my advice is that u should ignore them ,,,or better still to clear any doubt u might have , just go to them and if they tell u to pay something ,tell them you will think about it and scram out of that place like a bat straight out of hell !

dont be decieve if u see some people paying ,it might be a setup so ?

DECIDE !!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Unemployment Rate In Nigeria by okeyz(m): 3:03pm On May 12, 2007
calebonian:
its quite terrible to know the rate of unemployment in nigeria, but i believe what contribute mosly to such is because people were not well educated on how yo start on their own instead of looking for employment, theres a lot of opportunities for every nigerian to explore if only, they ready to take the new challenge.
not true,Nigerian people are one of the most hard working people on earth,it is the years and years of neglect by successive military government and harsh not too friendly policies that the government in collaboration with world bank heaps on the people that stagnates them.

They are indigenous companies in the 80's which have been closed due to harsh policies, devaluation of the naira, lack of infastructures and incessant coup de tat, that has ruined down most business ,scared away foriegn investors and make things generally difficult for ordinary Nigerians .

For instance if you say u want to engage in retail business and u have 500,000.When u start adding the cost of procuring a shop which ranges between 150,000 - 250,000 per annum and u have to pay 4 2yrs,coupled with epilieptic power supply ,payment of one tax or the other u find you're back to square one .No body will encourage u and the moment u open a shop or a business the government and its agencies start fleecing u of your money through exhorbitant tax rates which goes up and never come down,so the challenges an ordinary Nigerian encounter when starting a business are so many and hydra headed than his counterparts anywhere in the world.

Ok !! for emphasis why are nigerian clearing and forwarding agents running to cotonue to open shop?because the cost of opening a business there is low compared to Nigeria and there r no bottlenecks or bureacracy and the business environment is friendly to the agents ,even the government of cotonue is given them incentives to remain in business,so y should they come to Nigeria and go through some harsh treatment.

So if there is anybody that started a business Here in Nigeria and it grows that person should be commended i.e if the person does not have government or "PDP" backing.

So please Nigerians are trying their best despite all the set backs we have gone through,WE WILL SURVIVE.

TravelRe: Travel Fraudsters Share Ur Experience! by okeyz(m): 8:09pm On Apr 30, 2007
u r not a lone ,there is this guy who goes by the name of olisaemeka, says he stays in south korea and willing to help nigerians to travel to southkorea within 7days by a very short route ,
No embassy interviews and so on ,just buy ur ticket and hop into the plane ,airbound to south korea,it is not free, mind u ,u have to pay $1000 dollars into his first bank account ,which turns out to be 140,000 naira when converted,he has been assuring me that he is as genuine as the british empire and that i have nothing to fear if a pay the money into his account.

Funny thing is ,he has been advertising on the tuesdays gaurdian about work opportunity and travel opportunity to south korea .

I dont know if any body has reacieved a mail from this guy,is he real or just another conman wantinmg to take advantage of desperate immigration hungry nigerian youths .

Please i will appreciate any input on this guy.
thanks
