Training paths                                  ζ©

Our courses offer a clear training path, imparting knowledge and skill at all levels of your career.
Our foundation level courses provide the building blocks to your knowledge and understanding and our professional( practitioner) level course impart skill and a deeper knowledge of engineering principles.

Our courses allow you to follow a defined training path to build your skills and knowledge.

Course Levels
There are two levels of course. Foundation level has the aim of imparting information. Practitioner level has the aim of imparting skills and additional information.

Foundation level
Foundation level courses are designed to impart breadth and depth of information. Each topic is addressed with purely informative content, in plain language, to give a solid understanding of the processes involved and how they fit together. Available courses are:
• Upstream oil and gas industry orientation (1 day)
• Overview of subsea pipelines (3 days)
• Overview of subsea systems  (3 days)
Practitioner level
Practitioner level courses are designed to impart skills and information. Each topic is comprehensively addressed using worked examples, exercises and group discussions. Practitioner level courses give a deeper knowledge and understanding of the engineering principles involved.  Available courses are:
• Design of subsea pipelines (3 days)
• Construction of subsea pipelines (3 days)

CareerRe: Can You Describe Your Job? by okoomoge2(m): 10:07am On Jul 08, 2008
I am a subsea pipeline Engineer who is involved with the design of subsea hardware,Pipelines( Flowline and Truck lines) and Risers( SCR,Hybrid).
I love my job greatly coz it brings out the best in me but keeps me glued to my computer 24/7 -365. Reading Codes/ standards and company's spec has become an hobby by choice for me to be abreast of latest changes to design approach.

You MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR SOME PEOPLE!! BUT YOUR ABSOLUTELY WRONG AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED!! FIRST OF ALL BY THE SPECIAL GRACE OF GOD I BAGGED A FIRST CLASS IN ONE OF NAIJA'S FOREMOST INSITUTIONS AND HAVE MET MY COLLEAGUES FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD(COS I NOW WORK IN THE OIL ANG GAS SECTOR) AND ULL BE SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT EVEN MOST OF THEM WHO STUDY THERE DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THE AFFOREMENTIONED SOFTWARES BECAUSE OF LACK OF INTEREST!! THOUGH ITS INCLUDED IN THEIR CORICULLUM WHICH IS LACKING IN OUR DEAR NAIJA'S INSTITUTION. SECONDLY, ITS NOT TRUE THAT MOST FIRST CLASS ENGINEERS AND GOOD 2.1'S DONT NO HOW 2 CARRY OUT ENGINEERING ANALYSIS! ITS UNFAIR ON UR PART, BECAUSE UP TILL NOW, THERE IS HARDLY ANY KNOWN EQUATION IN MATHEMATICS AND CIVIL ENGINEERING THAT I CANNOT PROOVE (COS AM INTO RESEARCH AND ONLY UNWIND AT NAIRALAND.COM) AND MANY OTHERS OUT THERE!   ITS JUST THAT UVE NOT MET INTELLIGENT FOLKS THATS Y You SOUND LIKE THIS(A DRUNK   )?! You SPEND UR TYME VISITING NIGHT CLUBS WHERE You MEET HOLIGANS AS UNDERGRADUATES AND You THEREAFTER, GENERALIZE BASED ON UR DEMONIC HALLUCINATION.
FINALLY, I LEARNT HOW TO USE SOFTWARES RELATED TO MY DISCIPLINE WHILE I WAS IN SCHOOL(AUTOCAD,STADD PRO AND AUTODESK REVIT) AND AM STILL LEARNING MORE! SO You COULD AS WELL DISCARD UR INFORMATION DOWN THE DRAINS!!

My Guy you claim you started using STADDPro while in school abi ? Have used ISYMOST, NSO as well .
How many jackets have you designed, How many Topside structures for an FPSO/FPU have u done?
I hope you can use PDMS and Invetor, struud Too, alacurry,
Thank God I visit Nite Club as you have said OGA prophet of doom, since you have a crystal ball before u abi.
Man u are wierd!  u just dey laka yarn gba.
Demonic hallucination abi- Na your elder brother dey kolo.
Leave it or take it u are just an an asshole.
EducationRe: Unilag vs OAU-Ife vs UI? by okoomoge2(m): 11:52am On Jul 03, 2008
All Nigeria Univeristies are obselete! OAU ,LAG, UI ,ABU or BEN.
Reality stares u in the face when u interact with your peers from other part of the world.
I mean what am saying!
A chemical engineer with first class does not know anything about HYSYS, OLGA, PIPESIM For flow assurance
A Geologist with CGPA 4.8 does not know nadda about petroleum exploration ( basic)
A mechanical engineer can not do basic hydraulic analysis
A met/mat engineer can not calculate corrosion rate.
So called accountants are bunch of dumb head and u are rating Nigerian University.
Ma guys when u enter JD for masters you go begin read like craze to catch up!
Jobs/VacanciesCareer Training For Nigerian Engineers. by okoomoge2(op): 3:41pm On Apr 04, 2008
Hey house!
We intend to start up free career training for engineers in oil and Gas ( Process, Pipeline, piping, Instrumentation& Electrical, commissioning, structural).
This idea came as a result of shortage of skilled nigerian engineers!
The truth is most nigerian engineers are not just employable for the oil and gas industry.
We need experienced guys currently employed to volunteer to join us develop upcoming engineers.
The government is trying to make the local content bill works but happens when the local content bill is been signed !!!!
imagine nigerian engineers to carry out design ( Conceptual, FEED and Detailed design to the tune of 2mill man hours).
Let help develop our potentials.
I need ideas from you guys.
