PoliticsRe: Leader Of Yoruba Nation: "Yorubas Now Like Slaves" by Oksman(m): 11:06pm On Sep 24, 2019
EkunKekere:
Osinbajo: Yoruba now like slaves, says Akintoye

Yoruba leader, Prof Banji Akintoye,  on Monday in Ibadan said Yoruba “are now slaves”  in the country, following the alleged humiliation of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo by a cabal in the Presidency.

Akintoye spoke at the House of Chiefs, Ibadan, venue for the 126th anniversary of the Kiriji War – that engulfed Yorubaland from 1877 to 1893. “There cannot be smoke without fire. Although we don’t know where the fire is,  we can see the smoke all around us,” Akintoye told reporters.

Yoruba are in a terrible situation in Nigeria, because what Osinbajo is going through shows that we Yoruba are now like slaves in this country, so we need to dig ourselves out of it.

“All we are hearing is just like a smoke, but we don’t know where the fire came from. So, whatever might be happening to him now has demonstrated that whoever is not part of the people who control the government is only allowed in the government on surveillance. So, the person can be kicked out whenever they like.

"There are people among those controlling the Federal Government who have a lot of heavy questions to answer, but they are protected by the power that be.”

The event was chaired by a renowned historian, Prof Bolanle Awe, while the keynote lecture was delivered by Akintoye. Also in attendance at the meeting were Prof Anthony Kila, Chief Lekan Alabi and Chief Segun Odegbami.

Meanwhile, senior elders of the Yoruba Council of Elders have expressed fears over the adoption of the Ruga settlement programme by some northern states.

Speaking through Col Ade Dansaaki, after their meeting at the Bodija residence of Prof Toun Ogunseye on Monday, the group said, “We are worried about the Ruga settlement which is taking root in some northern states. We are worried that it may be surreptitiously moved to some states in the South.

“Farmers are complaining about the antics of the herdsmen. We appeal to the government to revert to the old farm settlements across the zone. If animal husbandry is established, it should be manned by our people, not Fulani. Any cattle trade must be undertaken by our people.”

On the security challenges facing the country, the elders commended the six South-West governors for making moves to tackle kidnapping and banditry and other criminal activities in the zone.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Cannot Be Nigeria’s President In 2023, A Northerner Will Return - Yerima by Oksman(m): 10:52pm On Sep 24, 2019
MelesZenawi:
- National president of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Yerima Shettima, says the southeast will support a presidential candidate from the north in 2023
- Yerima argues that the north needs another chance in 2023 to serve as compensation for the many challenges troubling the region
- The head of the northern body also believes that Bola Tinubu, leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will not be supported if he decides to vie for the presidential election.

Yerima Shettima, national president of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), says the 2019 presidential election has shown that the north has the most number of voters.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Eromosele Ebhomele, Yerima also believes that the southeast will support the north to produce Muhammadu Buhari's successor in 2023.

He says the north needs to be compensated
You were one of the first to ask Nigerians to consider a northerner for the 2023 presidency. It looks like the picture is becoming clearer. What are the inner political workings of the north ahead of the election?

In all honesty, we are talking about Nigeria and democracy. We've found out strongly that with what has happened in the last four years if we are still one country or brothers and sisters, we expect solidarity across board without any political hindrance from any quarters. We expect Nigerians to look at the situation around us. The issue of insecurity is highest in the northern part of the country. So many things are still wrong. We were thinking that with someone from the northern extraction steering the affairs of the country, something good should have come to the north. However, the present administration came on board without a clear policy or direction for the country. They used the entire four years to complain and trade accusations. We have a new government currently and complaints have not ceased and it is obvious that from the way things are going, it is clear that the answers to our problems are not here.

Now, the 2019 general election has fully shown that the north has the most number of votes. Yet, we are the ones faced with a lot of challenges. Ordinarily, without any challenge, we would have now decided to cede power to the south. But from what has happened and from all indications, we expect that people of goodwill would be on our side for us to sail through.

The southeast and southwest leaders say it is their turn…

They can say: “This 2019 election has already come and gone. Let us give the north another benefit of the doubt." We know that the government is only projecting the interests of the southwest and the southwest are the major beneficiaries of the government, yet they are the ones agitating to come up with certain elements from the region to take over from the southwest. For us, we feel and think they do not need it because they already have all that they want from this government.

Let them allow us to free ourselves from the shackles of insecurity, poverty and other challenges that we are facing. Again, if they feel this is about democracy and democracy is about numbers, then let us go to the field. It is about votes. So let them organise and we mobilise and see how it goes. We are going to have sympathy from the southeast that we are going to partner with God's grace. The southwest, of course, is our partner in progress but few myopic politicians from the region are doing everything to sabotage the intention of the north so as to continue to get what they want and it cannot continue.

We are saying that the north will definitely produce the next president. In fact, any political party that wants to win the election in 2023 must decide to pick its flag bearer from the north. Any attempt to pick a candidate from any other region would amount to huge defeat for any of the political parties. We have mobilised and organised and positioned to ensure that in 2023, the north will produce a candidate.

We are going to bring someone who sees Nigeria as his constituency, who would truly fight corruption not minding whose ox is gored, who would handle the economy and revamp it, who would make every Nigerian proud and operate a government of national unity in the interest of the country.

We urge Nigerians to understand. We are not saying government is meant for us alone, we are simply saying that at this period, we expect sympathy from Nigerians for a government of national unity to move ahead so that after then, we may begin to talk about supporting the southeast as partners in progress.

The impression you create is that the north should be compensated with the presidency in 2023 because it has suffered insecurity more...

That is just the true picture. Believe me, if the north is allowed to go today without the sympathy and understanding of Nigerians, there will be no north. This is because insecurity is high, the rate of poverty is beyond estimation. The crime rate is high in the north and, compared to other parts of the country, the unemployment rate in this region is higher, to the extent that, today, our northern brothers are running to the south-south and the southwest.

Remember how some of them were recently humiliated in Lagos by the state government. Should things like this continue in a country with a northerner as president? We are only appealing to men of goodwill to consider retaining the presidency in the north. I appeal and urge all the major political parties not to pick anybody from any other region apart from the north as their flag bearers or we will not support. We are prepared for the presidency.

Tinubu has been one of the champions of this administration having assisted in seeing to the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019. There are speculations that he may be interested in 2023. Don’t you think the best way to compensate him, if he agrees to come out, is for the north to support him?

Simply put, Tinubu's ambition, if true, is a quagmire. I am afraid the north may not accept him. To an extent, the north will not accept him as a Muslim. We have seen recent drama in which politicians turn religion into a tool for themselves. We have seen where a speaker of this country, who is a Christian, went to Saudi Arabia to give an impression that he is a Muslim.

You claim the south-south and the southwest are the major beneficiaries of the Buhari government, but leaders from these regions have always complained about marginalisation. There are arguments that the north has benefitted most...

Tell me where the north has benefitted and where the southwest is lacking. Our man was simply made to be at the helm of affairs, but the benefits of the government go to the southwest. See the government's economic team and how it favours the south and the west of the country. A lot of things visible in the south west cannot be seen in the north. The delay in road infrastructure is now very visible in the north. We now have potholes everywhere and the rate of accidents have increased. Zaria to Kaduna that was usually 30 minutes is now about two hours, thirty minutes. From Kano, you now spend five hours to Kaduna.

But in the past, it was known that the north had far better roads than any other part of the country. What happened?

The roads are now death traps. Every day, we record casualties from the bad roads. We are really faced with challenges. People are kidnapped on these roads and this has extended to coming to their houses to abduct them.

The question now would be whether you have the capable hands aside Buhari that was produced in 2015.

We have people who are more than capable. Talk about integrity and intelligence. It is laughable for people to think that Buhari is the best the north can produce. We have more capable hands than him. We have young and vibrant people who can do better for the country. We will consult widely before producing someone and be sure that anyone we support in the north would be the best for the country.

Do you support negotiation with armed bandits as being carried out by some governors in the north?

I am very uncomfortable with the negotiations and the way the state governors are coming out to tell the world they are negotiating. I don’t know the legacy they are creating. For how long would we continue to pamper the bandits? In the midst of unemployment, you are indirectly telling young people to take up arms so that the government can negotiate with them. It happened in the Niger Delta and some of us raised alarm and said it was not right to negotiate with public funds. All that Nigeria needs to do is sit together and examine ourselves critically and understand where we are going from where we are. Even if you are negotiating, you don’t need to do it so openly because history will always remember you positively or negatively. And in this case, history will remember negatively.

PoliticsRe: Osinbajo: Timi Frank, FIRS Trade Words Over N90bn Alleged Fraud by Oksman(m): 8:45am On Sep 24, 2019
TITOPE:
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/09/osinbajo-timi-frank-firs-trade-words.html

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank has claimed the ongoing travails of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was allegedly due to corruption and has nothing to do with 2023 politics.

Frank in a statement sent to us claimed that he had reliable information from his sources in the presidency to the effect that Osinbajo’s travail has nothing to do with 2023 but alleged mismanagement of about N90 billion Naira released by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to prosecute the last general elections in favour of the APC.

But the FIRS has said it did not make N90 billion available to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo for election campaign.

It accused Frank of seeking cheap popularity, adding that it would file a libel suit if he refuses to tender an apology in three major newspapers within the next 24 hours.

Frank’s press statement read in part: “The presidency discovered how Osinbajo allegedly mismanaged N90billion from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

“When confronted by the presidency, he confirmed to General Buhari that he indeed allegedly took N90billion from FIRS but it was used for the 2019 presidential election campaign in strategic states of the South-west.

“Gen Buhari asked for a breakdown of how the money was spent and he said he gave N11 billion to Lagos state APC leader but when the said national leader and one former APC chairman were invited for an explanation, it was confirmed that Osinbajo gave only N5billion and not N11billion to Lagos state.”

In a swift reaction, Wahab Gbadamosi, FIRS’ director of information, dismissed the claim, saying the service’s annual allocation is not even up to the said amount.

“The entire allegation being spread by one Frank Timi that the Federal lnland Revenue Service spent N90 billion to fund the last election is mendacious, wicked, malicious and a calculated attempt to smear the image of the Service and that of his Excellency, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

“In the last four years since Mr Tunde Fowler has supervised operations at the FIRS, the agency had not received up to N90 billion, per annum, as Cost of Collection from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee, FAAC. Mr. Frank and his band of liars might wish to cross-check this from FAAC, a public institution, whose records are open to the public.

“It is from the remittances from FAAC—which had never grossed up to N100 billion, PER ANNUM, that FIRS pays the salary and emoluments and trains it’s over 8,000 staff, runs over 150 offices and provides for other needs of the Service.

“Given the above, IT IS NOT PLAUSIBLE nor DOES IT MAKE ANY SENSE that FIRS will commit its resources to a phantom campaign of N90 billion as suggested by Mr Timi Frank and FIRS does not fund political associations.”

Taxpayers money including its operational funds, the FIRS said, a”re sacred and they exercise extra care and diligence in expenditures, even after such funds must have been appropriated by the national assembly.”

“The agency is subject to the eagle eye scrutiny, supervision and close monitoring by the National Assembly, the Federation Account Allocation Committee and the Ministry of Finance through the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, OAGF,” the statement further read.

Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Christ Is The God Of Abraham, See Overwhelming Evidence!!! by Oksman(m): 8:25am On Sep 15, 2019
bingbagbo:
What did Jesus mean by, "Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day, he saw it and was glad?"
When did Abraham 'see the day' of Jesus? Was it when Abraham was alive on Earth, after his death, or in our future?
John 8:56
ESV - 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.

And why did the Jews pick stones to kill Jesus when he revealed this ?

There’s no doubt Abraham saw the future day of Christ through the eyes of faith (Hebrews 11:8-13). Job prophesied in 19:25-27: “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.” Job knew of the self existing “I am”, the redeemer, that this redeemer would one day visit planet earth. Job also believed in a physical resurrection of his body and one day he would see God with his own eyes. Remember Jesus called himself I AM!

Again, Consider the account of Abraham’s meeting with Melchisedec / Melchizedek in Genesis 14:18-20 “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.”

1. Melchizedek was “King of Salem” (location generally accepted as Jerusalem) 2. He brought bread and wine. 3. Priest of the most high God. 4. He blessed Abraham. 5. Abraham reciprocated by giving Melchizedek “tithes of all”. Although the Genesis account doesn’t give us much information about Melchizedek the apostle Paul writes of him considerablly in the book of Hebrews 5, 6 and 7.

“For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.” (Hebrews 7:1-4)

Who aside from The Lord himself can meet this description? (without father, mother, without descent, no beginning or end, a continual priest). I am convinced that Abraham looked upon, communed with and shared bread and wine with the theophanic Alpha and Omega, the Lord of Hosts, Yahweh, the pre-incarnate Lord Jesus Christ!

Genesis 18:1 records another meeting between The Lord and Abraham. V.1-2 “And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,” Strong’s concordance defines the word LORD in this context as “YHWH" = "the existing One".

Note they were three, it doesn't mean God is three, No! The other two were angels. They were the angels sent to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.

“And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. (Genesis 18:10). From v. 11-13 we understand that both Abraham and Sarah were old, Sarah was going through menopause, so conception was not a viable option without divine intervention. When Sarah heard this she laughed to herself. In v. 13 The Lord repeated the very thoughts imagined by Sarah to Abram asking why she laughed. “Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” (GGenesis 18:14 (See also the fulfillment of this promise which occurred not none months but one year later in Genesis 21).

There is overwhelming evidence that Abraham not only believed in the future coming Messiah but that he was also graced with the very presence of The King of Kings and Lord of Lords during his lifetime. After all, is there anything too hard for The Lord?

Jesus Christ is God Almighty!
Convincing!

What gives people the belief that a spontaneous curse has any effect? grin grin

Ok, if you want to place curse certain criterias must already be validated.

1. You have a contract or seal of bond with another party to do...or not do....something, a goal.

2. The goal of your bond cannot be injurious or harmful to others and must not in any way be harmful to the environment and the life supporting elements.

Even after these two are in place a curse may still not take effect.

The danger however exist, since curse have energy, that it could hang around the person that uttered it.

Becareful, when you need to express grievance or bitterness....that you do so using normal words in lexicon to express emotional anger or displeasure.

APCHaram:
Fourteen Churches in Zamfara State, in Northern Nigeria are now facing demolition threat by the state government, which claims that there are too many Christian worship centers in the state. Zamfara state, which spearheaded the adoption of Islamic law in northern Nigeria contrary to the country's secular constitution, is predominantly Muslim, populated with less than a five percent Christian population.

The Chairman of the State Christian Complaint Commission, David Ishaya said last week in an interview in Kaduna, northern Nigeria political headquarters, that the State Commissioner of Lands and Housing, Alhaji Hassan Nasihu gave the directive for the demolition.

Among Churches slated for demolition in Gusau, the state capital, are the branches of Deeper Life Bible Church, Mountain of Fire and Miracle, Assemblies of God and Winners Chapel whose leaders have been invited for a meeting ahead of the demolition.

Apart from churches in the state capital, the Anglican Church in Kaura, Namoda, has been sealed up following disagreement over the ownership of the land of which the over 30 years Church was built.

Ishaya quoted the Commissioner for Lands, as saying that there was need to drastically reduce the number and curtail the growth of Churches in the state.

The Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) according to the Commissioner have enough land to themselves and the other denominations should merge with them.

"Life in Zamfara is traumatic for Christians" the Chairman of the Christian Complaint Commission stated arguing that contrary to the state government's propaganda, the Sharia legal system was meant to annihilate Christians in Zamfara state.

He said Christians in Zamfara must be allowed to live as free citizens and practice their faith as provided for in the country's constitution.
