pheliciti:
Following your logic, how would you feel if the families of the unconcerned victims retaliate in the North? Then you'd conveniently forget the cause and play victim?
We need to stop justifying these senseless killings.
Read my post carefully and understand the obvious truth. I have not and cannot justify the shedding of an innocent blood in any guise. Two lives were snuffed out by this vagabond on a foreign territory and you are here talking about logic in an african setting. Even as developed as the US is a man shot and killed several innocent policemen who were not responsible in any way for the death of an african american that was shot and killed by the a few
white overzealous corps. During the cartoon riots as is the case with many bloody uprising in the north, a lot of innocent southerner are killed for no justifiable reason other than they are non natives. The reaction to carry out vengeance killing on the innocent ones is totally wrong, but to expect them to put their hands at akimbo
grieving is unrealistic. Tnx

How can you claim not to know oil price will crash even as at 2014, IMF has sounded the warning and we witnessed a drop from 100 to 52 and later to 47 before they won the election

During the electioneering period, I still remember that Soludo gave out indices of impending issues pertaining to oil drop and others and fayemi gave a beautiful analysis of how it will be resolve and even boasted that even if it crashed to zero! It won't affect govt performance

I even remember how sanusi lamido gave a gory account of the rot in the system during his travails and APC said they will revive it when they get to power

I also remember when metuh tolld Lai muhammed that the country resources can't support the bogus campaign promises of APC! Lai said it's becos PDP are bereft of ideas on how to think inward that they will surprise them with the programe especially the feeding of school children and 5k for the jobless youths as soon as they win election

So pa Oyegun should stop lying at his old age.
What legacies is he living for his children and grand children.

A lying grand pa I guess
My brother you got me reeling on the floor for minutes, there is a saying that admonishes that to be a good liar, one must have a good retentive memory to remember all the lies you have told.

This is bad.

How can you grab a community land and convert it to personal use?this is why we have a Judicial system. The Community should take the Government to Court.

Corruption and PDP States are like(Somebody help me add that President Zuma's picture)
Crass ignorance! what has pdp got to do with the obnoxious land use act that empowers the fed, state and local government ownership of land in any part of the country? the land that obasanjo acquired in otta in the 70s, or the one nyako acquired in 90s in adamawa and other influencial nigerians in the past were also cornered by pdp?My friend facts and not comment is sacred, always be guided by fact and not prejudice.

Punish the criminal not innocent people.
In as much as you are absolutely correct about what you said, it would have been worse if an igboman did that in the north or even in the tolerant west. In nigeria, i don't think there is any tribe that would fold their arms in the face of these savage killings. May God help us.

PoliticsRe: Why So Much Vile And Hate For The President Especially On Nairaland by Oksman(m):
9jalyte:
I really understand what you are passing through. In your mind you want to believe you are defending a working president/government, but that's not the truth. It is what they call "living in denial". You seriously do not want to believe you were wrong by the choice you made, worst still believe that by your choice you helped put Nigerian in the present predicament. I have heard many people talk about our problem being caused by past administration. I have few questions to ask: 1. how come in the peak of the worst government, things were stable and immediately, I mean in mater of weeks after APC took over, things turned full circle. How come! was the economy waiting for Buhari to take over before it collapsed totally or was PDP performing a kind of magic to keep Nigeria going even while it was dead already, if so why can't APC perform same magic to keep us alive or at least make feel like we are alive. 2. How come all the contractors were on site (IBADAN/Lagos road, Shagamu/Ore Road, 2nd Niger bridge etc), they were working until PMB asked them to go home, does it mean they were working without pay or even if they were working with their money, they believed the government enough to invest their money, why can't PMB perform that same "magic" GEJ performed to Keep work going even with "dead" economy. 3. How come our power supply was relatively ok, APC said they had a better idea on how to protect our pipelines and ensure regular gas/power supply, and now they have lost the ideas. 3. How come PDP inherited Nigeria in it ever worst state in history, they picked it up, with no money left by Abdusalami and with crude in all time low, they were able to increase crude supply, increase income even with the MEND wahala, they massively Increased minimum wage, massively increased staff capacity of government agencies, they embacked on the largest infrastructure development post civil war and developed our democracy to the point that in 16 years, opposition party won election, yet APC inherited a far better Nigeria, with larger income and reserve better than PDP inherited in 1999, yet they have turn Nigeria back to where Nigeria was in 1998, and cannot conduct successfully even a senatorial election, without complains here and there. 4. How come PDP was able to set up anti corruption agencies (ICPC and EFCC), prosecuted their top party men, (governors, Bankole, former senate president, former PDP chairmen and their family members), yet APC, they so called anti-corruption party is yet to invite not even one of their members for questioning. Listen, we can go on and on debating this issue, the truth can only be told to you by your self. Go into your room and ask your self the question "did Nigerians make the right choice in APC". You keep amplifying the lies that "you all know where Nigeria headed before APC took over", I don't know where you saw us going, for me I saw Nigeria moving higher as the biggest economy in Africa, the 3rd fastest growing economy in the world, a potential net exporter of Rice, an automobile hub in west Africa, the most developed democracy in Africa and on. That was what I saw before now, and I ask you, in this APC/your government, where are you seeing Nigeria headed. Keep the answer to your self.
Thank you my brother! it's only those who lack content; would argue with your post and ofcourse you'd expect to see their dumb
response to your beautiful presentation.

I do not blame the men, it may be wrong but that's the way of the world, people treat rape victims as pariah and will mock their spouse and family without considering the impropriety of such actions and how it makes the victims feel...

I pray and hope the women are taken in by NGOs (govt is USELESS) for counselling, rehab and relocation from that community so they don't take the "easy way" out..

As for the animals in human skin called herdsmen, Ecowas terrorists, bandits or whatever anybody chooses to call them, they will never end well, they will be fed to the dogs, their children will be raised by strangers, joy will never locate them!!!!

& anybody (from whatever region) that makes mockery of these already debased and traumatised women will have a long term relationship with joylessnessl!!!

Some things are sacred and off limits. sad
Thank you God bless you! you've said it all, i wonder if all nigerians were as barbaric as they are, would we still have any of them left? too bad.

Nigeria a nation divided against itself,
...a nation that can not resolve her problems amicably,
...a nation that engages her
citizens in military conflict without ever fighting any external war, From the civil war of the 60s in the east, to the the boko haram war in the northeast, and now the nigerdelta. It just points to one obvious fact, our nation is sick and needs a curative regime and not a prophylactic military approach.

Thanks for your rejoinder, one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter, BH asked to exchange some kidnapped people for their incarcerated members, every group will always try to negotiate with what they have and from their place of strength... ND are no different, it's a fact of life.

I don't disagree with the ND people or their methods (it's not within my power to object either ways), I'm just reiterating that it's a recipe for failure.... It didn't work in the past, isn't working now & it won't in future!! It's an agitation that is being prosecuted for pecuniary gains of some selected few... There is no sense of "Everybody wins"..once a group is settled, then it is Uhuru, with the major grouse unadressed... Ken Saro Wiwa didn't die for the mess the present crop of pipeline vandals are making of a noble cause...

If you observed, I highlighted "unrelenting", the sole reason for doing this is to show that, any struggle that can be "paused" for any reason other than the actualization of the goal will kill the spirit that propelled the initial agitation.... Focus was never part of it, the drivers of the movement didn't have an objective beyond "make we chop too"..... Did civil rights activists ever take pause till they got what they wanted? Now we have BLM, it's dynamic.

Taking amnesty & pipeline contracts killed the REAL struggle, what we have now is just some aggrieved people hiding under the umbrella (no pun intended) of "vengeance" to vent their frustration, nothing else.. The stupendous and obscene wealth of a few militant warlord effectively buried it.. we can however refuse to face reality and continue to run around in circles....

Thx..
Your views on this matter is quite incisive and thoughtful, i just hope that the fed. govt. would find a lasting solution to this problem before it becomes unmanageable, tnx and God bless.

It is hard to seperate emotions but this mode of hit pipeline, retreat, govt repairs, hit again, repairs, and again and again won't make any difference and deep down you know it....

The militants are not serious about liberation, the few doing this aren't doing it for communal good, it's cos they have an axe to grind and surveillance contracts... Real freedom fighters are focused, detailed, swift and most of all "unrelenting". asking for amnesty for corrupt entities and co isn't ground for legitimate struggle.. end of story.
I have always respected your views on critical nationa issues but i beg to differ on this completely. In as much i do not support their method, they are known to employ unreasonable approach in their struggles to succeed. Your definition of the 'qualities' of freedom fighters is wrong, study their methods, the palestinian freedom fighters/terrorist, boko haram freedom fighters/terrorist, make silly demands for convicted mass murderers to be set free in exchange for innocent human lives, how about the talibans, abu sayyaf in phillipines, jonas savimbi in angola, the tupac amaru shakur in peru, they all have one thing in common, they employ criminalism and sabotage in their struggle and i don't expect them to be any different from their ilks. And mind you in as much as you disaggree with them, they always have the vast majority of the locals as their major supporters.

I’ve been married to my husband for over 30 years and we have two grown-up children. I have now reached a stage where I feel my life has ended. My husband has become so grumpy and lazy and won’t lift a finger to help around the house. If anything has to be done, I always have to do it myself. He won’t even have a decent conversation with me – all he does is watch TV, even if there is nothing of interest to watch.

He’s retired but I have a thriving business I run away from home, yet he won’t help me at home, even when I’m ill. I want to leave him and have discussed the possibility with my eldest child. Both my children know how unhappy I am with their father and have agreed to support whatever decision I arrive at. I want to be happy again as there’s absolutely no love or affection between us any more. Any advice for me?

Her death looks like a premeditated murder. She may have been poisoned by a jealous 'housemate' or friend who might jealous or not be too comfortable with her high end contact....... did i hear she came back with lots of goodies? A ritualist would not have brought her back after his mission is accomplished. It does happen faking alibi to make the murder looks real as if it has been committed by someone else, but an autopsy would have burst game.Girl you lived fast and died young, lesson for others.

How did u expect them to have handled d procedure? As it is, they've done a somersault at several points, using diverse expert positions, yet non seems to reverse d decline. The only thing I see working presently is blocking avenues for leakages n stepping up d tax collection. That in itself is unique in an African setting!
Unique indeed! Obasanjo inherited a worse economy plundered by past successive military govt. in what american newsweek magazine once described as tropical gangsters. But obasanjo hate him if you like came out from prison without an inkling of ever being the president, assembled an economic team working with a blueprint called the NEEDS document, paid off our foreigm debt which was mind boggling, consolidated the banks, licensed gsm operators introduced policies to stop leakages called monetisation and left a heathy treasury when handed over. The government of Yardua reversed some of those policies such that there was large scale looting during the period he was sick. GEJ messed up big time too because he compromised a lot, and allowed looting of our economy to go unhindered. PMB, unlike OBJ, came in without any masterplan to tackle the economy even as at this moment; considering the fact that he has been aspiring to lead for many years. The delay in presenting an economic direction, assembling an economic team, making volatile economic statement and decisions, was not only unhealthy, but catastrophic for our economy
Foreign AffairsRe: An Oil Boom Made It The Most Expensive City In The World. Now It’s In Crisis. by Oksman(m): 1:44pm On Aug 03, 2016
There is nothing unique in this administration's handling of our economy my friend, these nations are socialist economies that subsidize most of their services to her citizens unlike nigeria were we are used to capitalist exploitation for ages. The old USSR suffered a similar economic hit caused by over spending in defense budget in a bid to catch up with the west in their race for military superiority. She became so cash-strapped that Gorbachev had to introduced glastnost and perestoika in the early 90s, which eventually led to her disintegration and the fall of the iron curtain. Though GEJ left a not too healthy economy, the present managers did not handle the procedure properly.
