Webmasters › Leadership Newspaper Website Hacked by oladayo042(op): 6:07pm On Dec 03, 2014 |
The website of Leadership Newspaper, leadership.ng, has been hacked by a group called Nigerian Cyber Army.
The hackers only replaced every news item with a message that reads "LOL *** IS IN YOUR SYSTEM, EXPOSE CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND TAKE NO MERCY!!!!!!". In fact, I was surprised that the website was not defaced.

stanirems: bro...iv come again o pls my sedo and godaddy accounts have refused to open . i have tried every means possible to no avail. (godaddy= account locked,,,,,sedo = account closed) i have sent sedo a signed and scanned copy of the membership certificate by d email i used to open d account. pls what do you advise i do?? should i open new account?? thanks for ur anticipated response.. Open a support ticket with another email address and complain to Sedo. They will ask for your Valid ID again and open your account. For GoDaddy, I don't know what to tell you. I'm sure they must have sent you a message asking for your valid ID. |

BJ4REEL: Have you ever tried any GoDaddy upgrade, probably the featured listing? And about the GoDaddy premium, you think its worth the stress and commission increase? No, I have not tried GoDaddy upgrade or featured listing. About GoDaddy Premium - If I can sell a domain I bought for $2.17 for XX,XX, I'm less concerned about the commission. I have eight domains on BrandBucket and six at BrandRoot. Both boutiques charge 30% plus another minimum $100 logo fee. I care less about their commission if they can get me a sale. |

paulsir: PLZ IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIST DOMAINS IN 2 OR MORE PLACES.EXAMPLE REGISTER @GO DADDY AND LISTED IN BOTH GO DADDY AND SEDO THOUGH PARKED @SEDO?.GURU IN THE HOUSE OVER TO YOU. Yes. All my domains are parked at Sedo but also listed at GoDaddy Auctions, GoDaddy Premium, Afternic, and some of them on Bodis. Listing on many platforms increases your chances to be seen by a buyer. I can't say it is working but I like the chance it gives me. |
Business › Re: The Bricklayer’s Explanation To Oil Price Fall, Naira Devaluation & Everything by oladayo042: 10:26am On Nov 28, 2014 |
abeltolu: So if We Have an External Reserve, Why’re We Worried?
Well, having a bank account doesn’t mean you have money. We have a reserve, but our money no plenty. Nigeria has been dancing shoki with its reserves. When oil price was high, we apparently weren’t saving that much into our reserves. In fact, our reserves have been on a downward trend for years. We’ve been using our External Reserves to keep the value of Naira stable for months. When our currency appears to be falling, we take out some dollars from our external reserves and purchase Naira. Increased demand for Naira leads to increased value of Naira, and that’s how we stabilize our currency.
However, we sacrifice a portion of our External Reserves to pull this off. For instance, “while the central bank stepped in Nov. 7 to send the Naira to its biggest one-day gain in three years, intervening in the market has reduced foreign reserves to a four-month low of $37.8 billion.” In the last few months, even Russia with their large reserves had to devalue their currency by 23%. The conclusion from the emboldened is correct but the process is not. It should have been: When our currency appears to be falling, due to excess demand for Dollars, we take out some Dollars from our external reserves and use it to finance our imports to reduce the local demand for dollars. Decreased demand for Dollars leads to increased value of Naira, and that’s how we stabilize our currency. |

2sExy1: The one I am hoping that my Pheenix should catch today is taken in .net, .org, .ca, .nl, .ie , .co.uk
As a matter of fact, the .com, which is the king in this case, had been registered since 1996 according to my background check and it was used only by one company based in Canada until 2011. I could still see the sites and what it was used for a few minutes ago. Little one when a competitor was to start, they opted for the .ca instead of the .com because .com wasn't available. So, All I am going to do is wait to see if my backorder company will win this one and I can then turn around to sell to any of the extensions above. That was the plan for Fitnesslounge, FitnessAddiction and MarketingCorp.com unfortunately, I didn't get any of those.
We will keep on at it. Now that Pheenix has caught your Keyword+Factory, let's see how high you can go. I'm expect that you are not the only one that BO the name. |

Webmasters › Re: Domain Name Business; The Easiest & The Most Profitable Online Venture by oladayo042: 8:20pm On Nov 26, 2014 |
Okattamgbee: This happened around September last year when I registered the name, as a newbie, I checked if the name will still be available which I checked on godaddy, whois and I found out that the registrant is me, when I checked on sedo the same time, I saw it to be available and is up for $2,500 dollars I was surprised. I later contacted gcfr who asked to check if the whois information belongs to me which I answered yes, and he told me not to panic. Ever since then, it has been there till now so I don't really know what could have led to this. Stop bothering yourself. The previous owner listed it on Sedo and forgot to delete it after it expired. If you want to add it to your Sedo account (which you don't have), Sedo will just ask you to verify that you are now the owner by sending them a screenshot of the whois showing your account details. It happens all the time. Chilax! |

morett: @Oladayo042, thanks so much for answering my previous questions. I love you. No Homo. LOL. Now I want to ask some more qstns pls. When u auction and a buyer makes a purchase, can the money be temporarily in ur flippa/afternic account and u withdraw with which ever means later? I mean just like Fiverr? And I saw some .club domains sell well like black. club- $10,000 Russia.club -$10,000 talk.club- $10,000 Chinese.club- $13,750 toys.club- $12,500 meet.club- $12,500 Dotclub domains are kinda cool for exclusive people. in fact 50cent has registered 50inda.club so I stumbled on some cool ones still available but not convinced if I should go ahead and register them coz in still new in this stuff. also are the other registrars that have coupon codes like Godaddy? cos I read an ebook that said premium domains are not safe with Godaddy that Fabulous and Moniker are better but they are very costly. forgive my numerous qstns and pls help me answer them accordingly. thanks guys. one love For accounting sake, most auction companies can not keep your money after a sale because they have to clear their books. Those .club domains that sold for nice figures were reserved and sold by the registry and you can be sure that they reserved the best for themself. I will advise you to stick to .com. 50inda .club was a promotional by 50 Cent. It is not as if 50 liked .club so well. He did it for the money and to make people like you think it is "kinda cool for exclusive people." Stick to GoDaddy, at least for the coupons sake. Ebooks are written at a point in time and things change all the time. In fact, Moniker is the worst registrar anyone can use at this point in time. A lot of domain thefts going on there right now. |

This sounds great on the surface. Have you asked yourself what will happen if Paypal ask your friend to upload 'his' ID? Your ID will not be acceptable because your friend obviously opened the account as a non-Nigerian account. The best thing is to use your friend's Paypal account and let him send you the money through Western Union. |

By the time you are registering a domain, ICANN has made it compulsory that the registrar should make known the renewal rate. .com renews for around $10 currently across many registrars (GoDaddy - $15) and it can not be changed arbitrarily. Good luck with your first name. |

morett: gurus, I've got some domains but not yet registered. I have sm qstns. if I open account with godaddy, must the voters card have the same address as my who is? No, the address may not be the same but the name must be the same. what does it take to open gtbank domicilliary account? Valid ID, $100 (varies according to the bank), and two referees that have an account with the bank (I'm not sure if all banks require that the referees have an account with them) can I get paid with UBA africard? No. Paypal and domiciliary account are the only way. finally, I think I want to sell some of my domain s to the gurus here. Highly unlikely that will happen. I'm yet to read about any sale between members here. Most of us reg and hope to sell to those end users who pay the big bucks. Many people will rather reg than buy from another domainer except the domain is fantastic at that price. Since you are just starting, I'll suggest you understand what makes a good name first. |

DoroMega: Do .uk domains sell? I have some nice one word and two words domains with only the .uk available. What do you guys think? Has anyone ever sold .uk domains. My opinion: Stay away from .uk and .co.uk domains. They are tough to sell. If they are nice words like you said and they have value, you can be rest assured that they are already registered in .co.uk and the owner of .co.uk has right to the .uk till 2019. So all .uk's are reserved for the owner of .co.uk's except in cases where .co.uk is not registered. |

francizy: Who reads those lengthy gibberish?? What if I go thru that stuff and I don't see a line like that, can I sue them? Unfortunately, I can't even find a T&C on their website. I don't know if someone who is registered can find it. This is from employers' FAQ: Can I get screened CVs before the event? Yes, you can if you subscribe to our premium package. For more information, click here or contact Chinedu on qwerty@jobfairngdot dom or call XX,XX,XX There is no way an organisation organising job fairs will not send your CV around. If you go through the T&C and you can't find such line, what good will suing them do? It's like suing MTN for spamming me with unwanted messages that I have opted out from several times. |

francizy: You subscribe to a website (Jobfairng.com) event with your details and because Jobberman is a partener to jobfairng, Jobberman will then have access to your details too. Can Jobfairng.com explain to me why they dished out my information along with my main/important email address to jobberman, as in who does that?? They don't have to explain. They dished it out to Jobberman because it is under their terms and conditions. I've not read their T&C before but I am damn sure that there will be a line like "We reserve the right to share your info with our partners blah blah blah." Next time, read the fine prints. |

Successdude: i dont think i.d card is required... 2, try out with ur brothers atm, i tink if the info (like card numba, name on card and ccv) are correct then no problem. and thirdly before you checkout check beneath the checkout tabe you will find 'any promo code?' click it and put the code then summit. thats my ten percent. let the oga them come anyway. Takecare Successdude tried with the answers but I'm afraid you need an ID. GoDaddy will not require it at the point of registration but will later ask for it after you buy your first domain name. If you are using your brother's ATM, try and have his ID ready because they will ask for the ID of the owner of the card you used (to prevent fraud). |

Thanks I am hoping that if your buyer is from US, you can just update the information (even to a random US address) and immediately transfer it to them. This is not an expert opinion, as I have not done this before. |
