What is the big deal?,atleast south Sudan left Sudan, serbia and montenegro formed out of Yugoslavia,Eritrea and Ethiopia did same,Czech and Slovakia did the same from czechoslovakia,Ossetia from Georgia etc, so what's the hush?.
REFERENDUM THE SIMPLE SOLUTION...#Marriageis mutual.
It seems you people didn't really know who is Igbo
Igbo is Jew, it can never board the train of peace, from East to West return back to East it's always war, genocide and holocaust!
here in Nigeria from first coup to pogrom to civil war to agitation heading towards the 2nd civil war! it will continue in circle!
Igbo didn't love peace!
If I were the president of Nigeria I will send them packing from Nigeria to Israel!....for Nigeria to know peace!
otherwise it will be war!

If am the Nigerian President,

I will allow them to go in peace and

1. Increase tution fees for international students by 60%
2. Triple land-use charge for international properties
3. Hike the price of Nigerian visa and work-permit
4. Increases taxes levied on international buisnesses
5. Pass a law similar to that of the US, that no company should employ a foreigner except the expertise is not within the country

Then sit with my cabinet members to find more stricter ways to curtail influx of foreigners into Nigeria. Also, The land-use law will be ammended

Nope. Not yet.
If bokoharam is fighting for Islamic state and biafra is fighting for biafran state why not put the question to the people by way of referendum??
Please in what way or what sector had buhari successfully fought corruption?? Cos all the sectors which requires bribe are still doing business as usual. No high profile politician has been convicted so far.
The money efcc claimed they have recovered, in what way has FG used it to better the life's of Nigerians? Where is the money?
If efcc has recovered hundreds of billions like they claim. Why are we still borrowing?
what referendum you are talking about, which that is in the constitution or not?
do you know referendum is not automatic cert for secession?
do you know Catalonia, Scottish and Quebecois had been fighting for secession since 1600AD, voted yes on referendum but still no independent!
it's the court that hold the money, if the looters were convicted today, the money is our's untill then, we borrow, thats the right you people clamoring for, that's what kanu is exercising today!
The looters also have the same right upon their ill gotten wealth under the same international & national laws, as kanu!
enjoy democracy that's it!

I'm quite comfortable with my income. If I'm complaining how much more those who live hand to mouth?

Please enlighten me. What good has buhari done for Nigeria?
boko haram is fighting for Islamic state as biafra had fought for biafran state!
both bokoharam and biafran had taken gun against Nigeria nation!
If you are comfortable, you are comfortable with the opportunity Nigeria over you!
Buhari stop what the UN failed to stop....Terrorism!
Buhari stopped what other president failed to stop...corruption!

I'm not a fan of Kanu but don't compare him with bokoharam.
The Igbos are marginalised and according to the UN charter which Nigeria is a signatory too, the Igbos have every right to seek for secession. Let's be civil about this issue.(I'm not Igbo.)
Kanu has killed no one and clearly stated what he is fighting for. Which is self determination of this tribe.
What is the murderous terrorist group boko haram fighting for??

I don't care where the next President is from. Buhari is incompetent sick and outdated. He must leave.

By the way, why good has buhari govt brought to Nigeria? Look at the amount of suffering due to job cuts and hyper inflation.
Why do u still support him?
one, there is no different between the two, they were secessionists!

The fact I don't share your secessionist views do not make me a fool. #MycountryisnotaZOO. I am ashamed to be associated with folks like you on a tribal note because you don't insult your father (Nigeria) to get what you want; even if you may not have been fairly treated by your father.

It is unwise to arrogate decency to the Igbo tribe while demeaning other people's values. Effectively by calling Nigeria a ZOO and agitating to leave, you are implying that you want to create another ZOO. This in itself is paradox.

That said, the problem with our country is not with name change, the problem is the way we as a people think. Sadly, you just demonstrated that you are part of the problem. Unfortunately, I had to climb down the same gutter to address you.
Here on nairaland there were a lots of gullible people!

The steps to a developed Africa are DISSATISFACTION, then DISINTEGRATION or DISSOLUTION, then DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE.

The reason for our dissatisfaction is the fact that the whites joined us together against our own wish. Thereby given some people a sense of superior entitlement and ownership over the properties of the illegal union. I am referring to the Hausa Fulanis.

With the 2019 elections coming closer, and these born to rule guys, insisting that the president must come from their tribe, irrespective of merit, a typical Yoruba and a right thinking person will say, NO TO IREJE, NO TO CHEATING.

Is it a must for Nigeria to remain one? This is a question which we the people of Nigeria NOT OUR SOCALLED LEADERS, should answer.

Personally, I am tired of this contraption. I am tired of this union called Nigeria. Our people are dying and starving, all because of this faulty entity called Nigeria. Let us divide if need be, to unite again. Let us act now.

eg Isis that will turn our beloved country to terrorists camp like lebanon syria, libya, somalia etc!

But can any fragments of Nigeria seceded can win the terrorist war?
Fight against Boko haram and win?

If we successfully secede and we put our heads together our different countries will be a haven for us and others.

This is the way to go. The Nigerian establishment cannot contain a wide spread ethnic or regional nationalism. The impact will be near the scale of perestroika of old Soviet union. One thing that is clear is the current pattern of injustice under a defective structure cannot continue. Best is devolution of power so all tribes can still play in the same wide Nigerian family in fairness and equality and equity. Otherwise let's break completely so that those who still have affinity of values can come together in a lose confederation, much like the Arab Emirates.

DickDastardly2:
While the nation is still grappling with various agitations across the country, a coalition of Yoruba groups, Yoruba Liberation Command (YOLICOM), has declared that the Yorubas are set to secede from Nigeria to form Oduduwa Republic.

Speaking on Thursday in Lagos, Opeoluwa Akinola, spokesperson of the coalition, said Nigeria is slowing down the progress of the Yorubas, killing and maiming the citizenry for selfish interests.

Ancient Yoruba warlord, Agbekoya, Oodua Redemption Alliance, among others, who were part of the coalition also said though they were not agitating for war but they are equal to the task, should there be need.

Akinola stressed that Yorubas were forced by the British into Nigeria in 1914 and the best time for peaceful dissolution, like other countries is now.

“Nigeria has become a burden on Yoruba people. We suddenly have been exposed to unimaginable threats of violence, wiping off entire families through clubbing to death, kidnapping of women and adults, savage killings, kidnap of school children and rape of infants.

“Stealing of public wealth and the public display of the stolen wealth, with arrogance by the criminals, the complete annihilation and confrontation of the poor people by the Nigerian state and many other ills that were hitherto strange to our long lasting ancient civilisation and values,” he said.

Akinola added that “the destruction of regional system of government has turned Nigeria into a unitary state dotted with savage vulture of corruption, ineptitude, inefficiency, moral degeneration, death, violence crimes and now violent religious extremism.

“The so-called democracy is nothing but the imposition of individual will through an orchestrated mass corruption where the poverty of the voters are exploited for electoral gains by politicians seeking political offices.

“Democracy is not about the interest of the few elected people and their cronies. Democracy is now government of the party for the party leaders and by the party members,” he said.

Akinola further stated that YOLICOM supports the aspiration of the Igbo nation, “irrespective of the unfortunate hate speeches, infantile savage utterances of a certain Nnamdi Kanu, who appears to have singled out Yoruba nation for ridicule and revulsion.

“We take solace in the fact that we work with many large-hearted, better-exposed, principled and consciousness Igbo leaders who have richer sense of history and understand better the complex nature of nation building and who also realise the importance of alliances, networking in statesmanship and international friendship and solidarity.”

He also said YOLICOM totally rejects the idea of restructuring as proposed by the Nigerian state and the political elite, adding that it is an attempt to restructure Nigeria on their own terms and not on the terms of the people.

“Nigeria will never be genuinely restructured by the present crop of political leaders who are themselves beneficiaries of the same skewed system.

“Even if the country will be restructured, it will still pass through the National Assembly which was created during the era of military rule of the Fulani to ensure an upper hand for the Fulani North”, he added.

One of the speakers, Francis Abayomi, corroborated that Oodua Republic is an alternative to agitation for Nigeria’s restructuring bid.

“We want to be free from generation of bond. We don’t want our children to be enslaved any longer. Most of us have spent good time in prison, so no threat can stop our agitation. Yoruba nation has an alternative. We can exist as a distinct nation. We want to ascertain our right to live as a country,” he said.

The youths mean they will force their will, opinions and and ideology upon others, they were wrong, the word respect is a primitive word to them, and diplomacy had nothing to do in exercising once right and freedom...it is stupidity.
Although I've been warning them that respect is the law of reciprocal and those who you can't fired or sacked you can only earn their trust with diplomacy.
Nnamdi kanu is an antagonism president, who opposed every opinion thought of his clan he pretending fighting for their liberation I never seen such a stubborn character among the separatist world leaders.
just ask kanu/ipob, why there should be Biafra? they will give you a booki of insult and abuse they know about your origin!
Same thing to the advocate of restructuring of Nigeria, they can't just explain how restructure will kill bad leadership or why those who run Nigeria down won't headed the restructured Nigeria, they would only shouting hausa/fulani, hausa/fulani without given the exact meaning and reasons of what they want, just give opposite opinion they turn you enemy.
Although they were the same people with the same objective...liquidate Nigeria at all cost!
Senate open great opportunities for the youths in just ended amendment of 1999 constitutions instead of these youths debate constructively on the way they can help in the development of the nation they take it as the war between the youths and the elders.
They didn't know even if they were in post they need those elders and leaders to lead them not to go astray.
Nigerian youths, change your tactics it can never work like that!
