Politics › Re: Amaechi Spent N82million To Host Prof Soyinka To A Dinner - Rivers State by olajide8(m): 10:36pm On Jan 05, 2016
metroparrot:
Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin- Tam George, has expressed shock that former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi expended N82million to host Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka to a 3 hour dinner at a period he refused to pay salaries .

Addressing Government House, Port Harcourt correspondents on Tuesday, Dr Tam George said that the figures were contained in the hand over note prepared by the former Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Information and Communication under the Amaechi administration.

He said : "A government that did not pay salaries, closed the courts , but the administration had the courage to expend N82million to fund a dinner for Prof Wole Soyinka.

"These are facts on ground. The Amaechi administration expended the money under the heading of borrowed funds."

The Information Commissioner : “ There is a massive propaganda machine out there misinforming the people about the policy direction of Governor Wike’s administration. They have to respect the will of the people. Instead, they go about spreading falsehood against the people of the state ".

He charged the news men to emphasize the developmental achievements of Governor Wike with facts because Rivers State is currently dealing with a “ disastrous legacy of abandoned projects” by the Rotimi Amaechi’s administration.

Dr. George who noted that the Wike administration is currently facing a combination of “ 85% information war” and “ political fundamentalism” also said the APC seeking to establish a “ political caliphate” in Rivers State, by installing Dr. Dakuku whose is a fake political candidate of the APC.

The Commissioner also described those who said Wike’ s government is serving only Ikwerre interests as talking “ anthropological nonsense” because he is running an all- inclusive of government of indigenes from the 23 LGAs of Rivers State.

The National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos was the ground where Nigeria lifted her first Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980. A hallowed site for Nigeria's sporting glory has gone into disuse and disrepair since the Abuja National Stadium was constructed to host the 2003 All Africa Games. Goal's Shina Oludare recently visited the stadium where he took these pictures.

.. Nigeria is not an Islamic country? Please don't deceive yourself. Talking about a country interfering in another country.. It must always happen. Today we blame the EX US PRESIDENT Bill Clinton for not doing enough to interfere or stop the genocide that happened in Rwanda. Even, Nigeria has equally interfer in the affairs of other countries like when we voted to oust Gaddafi, when we supported the actualization of the Palestinian independence.
What do countries stand to benefit from interfering in the governance of another sovereign state/country "when they don't have investments in it, or proposed investment?" all countries have specific reason at specific times for interference but for nigeria/iran and religious belief? Not economic? I don't think it makes sense- rewanda, america and other countries were selling weapons, Libya the lockabe bombing of a plane over ireland from a supposed 3rd world country, well that country needed to be checked, other issues of threats to immediate European neighbours gives room for questioning, Palestine/isreal bilateral agreements between america and a problem of a state within a state bruhaha and it's a country in which history favours Christianity but Islam has come to encroach on some of what they hold important, imagine a church and the place where a disciple was buried - now turned into a mosque- and they don't allow Christians to worship their again' these are the infractions - a beg I can talk again*

But they have their representative here. They should also be given a chance to express freewill. You too, don't you see people who go to dubai and Jordan to build churches, did they kill any of them. Muslims have a problematic religion, doesn't mean they should be treated like lepers. Sure they need to rewrite thier Quran, it breeds hate. But that shouldn't make you hate them.
Nobody is being treated as a leper- would you go from nigeria to the UK and break their laws? Better still is it a must that your way of life must be enforced on other people in another country?

Col's - Majors and soldiers, because of lack of the necessary arms and equipment and the will of the then govt., to stop the terrorist etc
More then 2m people have been displaced, and houses turned to deserts and pillars of sand - imagine what the orphans of those killed would turn into? Another problem brewing!!! and you gladly think you are making a point? Because you are not affected, directly or immediately? Or maybe because you are also a demon, that sees nothing wrong in the problem.

The beauty of this government is!!! - they are not ashamed, if it is true -to withdraw the budget and re-present it, I was wondering how possible it was going to be, for him to read through the bulky budgets presented within 30days or less before presentation to the NASS, and I also suspect the bad eggs in government that haven't been sacked, would want to smear the presidency by putting these nasty ridiculous figures in this budgets. If you fill a fresh charge against someone, you'd have to get an arrest warrant from a court before arresting. So the DSS cannot claim that they are re-arresting someone on fresh charges almost immediately he was granted bail.
It hasn't occurred to you that, they have all the arrest warrants, for the criminal cases to succeed, you may not know but the prof itse sagay board really did extensive work knowing what corruption apologists would come up with, and only a hard lined and minded person can succeed- each case against them has been divided- 1. money laundering 2. Stealing from public treasury 3. Mis-administration and breach of public trust and public office etc - only 2 charges per each arrest warrant so for the 160 count charge against him, he would have to be bail 80times- get with the program and that applies to all of them, for each bail he would pay N200m before the FG finally finish* and the court proceedings start, we are coming for all of them, that stole nigeria's money- that's all*

No weapon fashioned against nigeria (and the change) will prosper- and Corruption is fighting back, when I said they had amassed so much money, they can wage war against nigeria, they felt I was just talking- oyah!!! you would see the names on the list, olisa metuh name first, and all those that stole nigeria's money, especially Jews - people that thrive in an unsettled corrupt society!!! just one sector micro-sector is fighting like this, blackmailing everybody, it's just painful the judicial policy is not favouring the fight against corruptionhuh imagine when we get to the petroleum sector (when the battle is in dollars) and then the civil service (that aided the thieves to steal)? Labour would fight, because of the kick backs and approvals -we should expect to see labour strikes left-right and centre- to many corrupt people, and thieves everywhere.

The people of nigeria, are not interested in any apology, at least we know you are not a Nigerian, the way you spread your bed is the way you would lie on it, treason is the offence, and there's a thin line between freedom of speech and treasonable felony- as much as the issues surrounding them are there, 1. The thought to commit 2. The attempt 3. The actual doing of it - pushing a large amount of youths into the streets on falsehood! Causing untimely death of innocent people, disrupting public peace, through inciting words. Trying to create a state within a state- claiming to be from isreal (jew) and causing unrest in nigeria- illegal entry into nigeria, using false documents/passports, keep your apology or none apology- we would meet at the pikes, with your head and that of other poisonous venomous individuals like U.

It'd be nice for him to apologize but I doubt it doesn't affect the case.

Sedition and call to arms against the state are treasonable and should be treated as such. But I hope he isn't sentenced to death.
Believe it or not that's the judgment for treason- well, it would do us good, one more problem off our backs as a nation, we need our nigeria back- the peaceful nigeria of old, where a guys married their women, where their guys married our women, nigeria in the 40's and 50's, check it out- where the love of man kind is placed before the love of money- where ethnocentric madness does not exist and co-existence, loyalty and respect for each other as human beings are KINGs
