cashmentor: unless u're very sure of the market (stock), unless u've done your home work pretty well, unless u have insider or profesional advice; Never Put ALL your eggs in ONE basket! Atleast, u're not Buffet nauw.... The Key is to diversify into 4 or More Sectors. e.g. Oil, Banking, Agriculture, Food and Beverages, Manufacturing etc.... That's what a novice is adviced to do, like in your Case....you could have made a killing, infact, u did made a killing (unknown to you) when AP skyrocketed i think close to or above N100....Stocks don't expire for more info go to www.cscs.com.ng not to sure or www.cscs.org.ng would check it up from my mail box so many stockbroking firms have been de-registered or are having liquidity issues so look before you leap, and theses are the issues they are supposed to be probing |
I guess its time for me to go back into the capital market world, had to branch out to start my own personal thing, thou because something told me then to go and equip myself charter first in my core area of skill then add that as an addition to my qualifications eheheheheh! Any other issue just for this night I guess another person may take over from their, tomorrow I should think we are a few experienced brokers and registered student members of C.I.S if they haven't removed my name since 2006 sha. |
Akpan107: True talk! Am so scared and tired of this so called stock issues, i lost so much in investing in that nonsence they call ''shares'', i bought Zenith Bank shares at the rate of N39 per unit, is now 12, U.B.A N29, is now N2.60 kobo, Dangote Sugar N19, is now around N4, FNB 28, now 10 or 11 Naira. I used about 80 per cent of my life savings to invest in it then. I thank God, He is helping me to recover financially without the shares... Is quite disturbing.Looking critically at it did you lose so much you may think so but you did their are some indices that I I put forward you would see your gains, but just a snip bit how many bonus issues have you received since you brought zenith bank I remember their IPO was at 11.40k in 2005 and if you look at the bonus issues they have since given out to those that brought then they would complain I guess you went in when the were coming down coz I know at a certain time if my memory isn't failing me they clocked N54 and a lot of my then clients I advised them to sell and they made a few millions forfeiting the bonus issues and still came back to buy the bonus issues at 1/4 of the value meaning they made money and still brought the same value of shares they sold back complicated well that what someone that understands the market can do for you another Merit, ask me about UBA I would have said buy but ask me about UBA when the merged with standard trust bank I would have said move in fast and move our fast because sincerely I really never understood what they were doing to be posting fascinating profits while their overheads were crazily high, dangote sugar I would advise any one to stay their its the only sugar company in west africa and what is affecting its value is economic issues across the west african sub region less disposable income FBN good stock any day well gear and well leveraged the bank that determines the faith of the nigerian economy the reason or issue for their loss of price the de-capitalisation of the stock market as a result of the economic issues (believe the world is a global economy) we are facing which the governor of the central bank before refused to admit to (soludo -stupid man) u are still on a good footing if you are ready to close your eyes while keeping one eye open on the economy and political landscape of the country nigeria |
dkings101: Like I told you, I don't have a stockbroker...I just monitor the price and performance of the companies online. What are the needs and benefits of a broker? Please advice. Do I pay them or what are their good to me and also their functions.Merit 1.Financial advise on what stock to buy as an institutional investor or corporate investor 2. When to buy and when to off load 3. Possible market makers 4. Portfolio management 5. Latest information that may affect or influence your decision to buy or sell 6. Possible returns from indices and ratios of your stock Let's leave it at these few because they are inexhaustible DEMERITS 1. A person fee outside the normal fees of the stock exchange but most this is borne by the stockbroking form except you decide to go by external brokers 2. They would give you information that you may have to make your own decisions from they (we though in the past) wouldn't buy or sale on your behalf because you have to also fill a buy and sell transaction form which sometimes may take a little time to execute at various prices except a mandate has been filled on the buy and sell forms etc |
MRbrownJAY: ^^what would going to see your pastor do? will pastor Oyedepo's slap remove the obvious tattoo by miracle?! |
Well the bottom line, you want to invest in the capital market remove sentiments, a greedy person would lose a fortune, get a broker that knows his onions don't allow him to take the decisions for you its unethical but request for as much informations as possible then make you decision |
MRbrownJAY: ^^what would going to see your pastor do? will pastor Oyedepo's slap remove the obvious tattoo by miracle?!Jumping to conclusions, that I attend the church, hmm, well I don't, but my church would do more then what Pst. Oyedepo would do to her, so for an easy way out, that would still get the job done I just proffered a solution, that might work without allowing the "affair" to go southwards (DIVORCE) my opinion! It wouldn't remove the tattoo, but I can assure you she would go and remove the tattoo herself eh! With immediate alacrity by the time they finish telling her the evil spirits behind the ink for the tattoos, the inking needles the personality, and then the thought that over came her and made her desire a tattoo in the first instance she would turn into a jelly beans |
Well bottom line you want to invest in the capital market remove sentiments, a greedy person would lose a fortune, get a broker that knows his onions don't allow him to take the decisions for you its unethical but request for as much informations as possible then make you decision |
dkings101: Since they rebranded, am I to get new share certificate or the former is still valid for any claim?? Do I contact their registrar for more info? Wat do u suggest??Its still very much valid but have you placed it with your stockbroker for quoting on the CSCS its better and easy infact its almost a necessity for you to see anything in the stock market or play in the market |
Malabeni: @Cashmentor. The real truth is that the stock exchange is a market for everybody but with different niches for different people. Don't make the mistake of going into a niche not meant for you. If you have not garnered experience in financial and fundamental analysis, please buy only stocks with strong fundamentals and preferably foreign management( this mitigates your risk exposure since our NSE is stil young and suffers systemic corruption) like NB and Nestle, steer cleer of penny stocks but if you can analyse well and probably get some insider info(not info from articles and hearsay), you are free to trade any stock including Onwuka-hi tech plc :-). I have been a stunch player and have had my share of losses, almost 500k,so I know what I'm talking about. Goodluck.I beg to defer on a point going up or down you are bound to make money in the capital market, play in the penny stock market or blue chip market reasoning, should play more, and you may never regret it because the volume of profitability is way high like I said get a broker or talk to financial advisor (not all accounts are financial advisors including bankers note) if I had funds mehn I would make chunks out of the market but my brother I am that broke from loan recalls and I am indebted their is a principle in the stock market that says their is always a greater fool then you so no matter the time you are going in you are making money sincerely |
@op Truth be told, i don't understand how people make justifications for rubbish. How can a married woman tattoo her private areas without her husbands consent. Even when she knows he hates tattoos? I have one word for you. She's most probably having an affair, or is sick of her marriage. Just Get a divorce.
Very easy to say but very hard to do (DIVORCE, you may be on it for 5years in court) thou but it is the truth if you can CON, her to church preferably winners let Pastor Oyedepo slap the madness out of her I guess she would realise, she is being possessed by an EVIL SPIRIT! Seriously (if you descend on her they would shout you are molesting her allow someone with the spiritual authority the opportunity to do it) I am serious |
tochimas: Please, how can one treat this issue of delayed share certificate,I bought mine and wanted to sell them off when it increased in price but was told I cannot sell without certificate.was waiting for it when the market failedI wouldn't say to much but what was your intent when you were investing immediate profit/ buying to resale or investment, if it were the aforementioned then I would say you should have asked for advise, if it were the later sorry then, theirs is actually no law that can mandate the organisation to send you your certificates ASAP, apart from the very poor SEC law which they are supposed to be probing along with the glutton chairman, because of the nigerian factor they would tell you all was posted at the same time and NIPOST is responsible for the delay or your postal address was not clear and it was returned thou NSE/SEC has stipulated that investors should receive their shares within 30-90days of the close of an IPO or right subscription but nigeria and our issues |

dkings101: I admit my bad being a novice in the market. Still younger and wanted to invest my money for the future, I just buy share without any proper research. I must confess, I lost lot of money. Worried but not hypertensive. Bought the AP Share for 250 and the crashed like I don't know. Noticed AP is not listed in the NSE any more. Did they rebrand? Wen I search for their website on google, I saw Forteoil Plc. Is this there new name? They are still in the market, yes they are now rebranded and I must say you are still fortunate to have some small investment because the directors are mopping up all units available in the market, and are now fountain oil or is funtain oil not to sure of the spelling, you want my advise buy as an institutional investor forget buying small scale in them you want immediate profits, get a broker immediately, follow market indices it might cost you, something small but if you are investing 20k and a broker or a financial advisor, is charging 10% its better then throwing away the 20k just my point of view |
cashmentor: Knew a couple of Folks who collected large sums of loans to invest in the NSE, some commited suicide, others sold their biz, homes and anything saleable to pay back those large sums! Me, Haaa, grace kept me going: burnt my fingers and my greedy tongue badly (no loans though), but, i regret ever Buying stock/shares! Worst off, other world markets are growing, the NSE has just refused to wake up! Is there any hope it's ever gonna pick again? Feel for those young lads i advice into buying stocks back then; to me, the NSE is a no go area, not after banks merged and shareholders stocks became invalid, others recapitalized and send u pea nuts as share! NSE is dead, not with Boko Haram on Rampage! I want my money back; *where's this broker* you must give me back my money O*.....that was a student shouting at my stock broker yesterday! Sad isn't it?the capital market would definitely rise again the initial problem was when the value of stocks were initially rising, were they rising according to their true value at that time? well my submission was NO what was happening banks were synchronizing funds in terms of deposits and they had to give out loans to give interests on these deposits which they were making so they decided to go to the capital market which they felt had the capacity and was long term based what they did was to make the markets for them selves by saying they would be interested in investing in some certain companies WELL LIKE ALL OF US NOW, the capital market is a long term market as shares or equities could be increased over time through share appreciation apart from trading and addition income from the bonus issues, people like otunba shubomi balogun made his money through C.S.L in the capital market when the market was not known to most N.igerians. |
fatterman: I am married and Live with My wife at Home ,This morning as my wife was sleeping and her phone was ringing, so I woke her up to her pick calls, to my surprise she was rushing very fast and hiding her body, and I ask what is wrong with you, what i saw was so suprising, she has tattoo all over her body, she never tell me her plans to draw a tattoo on her , and i never like a tattoo, she draw the tattoo on her bosom, waist, private parts, and shoulders, hmmm, I am still at shock, I don’t know what to do, I ask her what is the meaning of what she did, she never responded to me, My question is how can a married woman draw a tattoo without her husband permission? I am very angry now, I just rush out now, and still thinking what to do?my brother you we can't control them, we just have to try to tolerate them, secondly it seems to a high degree you are not in control of your wife, not as in commanding control but logical reasoning control, does she have kids yet? if she doesn't, whats your problem? if she had kids, my submission it would have made her more responsible, you know extra responsibilities, it seems she like to go out of way a bit to freak you out so you could have a possible disagreement which can not be reported to anyone because they would look at it as trivialities, so my brother if you don't go to church START NOW SERIOUS I MEANT SERIOUSLY O! hoping the relationship would not go southwards. |
envee: I rmbr calling the customer care last week when my mtn balance of N818 naira was reduced to N0.00.Well they just credit me back my credit I had to call immediate just to confirm it |
envee: I rmbr calling the customer care last week when my mtn balance of N818 naira was reduced to N0.00.Eh hen, I felt is was due to my browsing sometimes I would just notice that pages were not opening and sometimes they opened when credit was one my phone apart from the fact that I subscribed to BBC, by the time I noticed that it wasn't going again my credit would be 0.00 and this has been happen time and time without number, I don't download anything or watch anything because I have other means of doing that (laptop) |
I guess I was also a victim wanted to do a call and the next I heard after the person had said hello was your call credit has finished please reload such an important call and a rubbish response from the network |
BUSH MAN:Left to you and this current generation including I myself, that source for the easy way out, nigeria no fit better lailai, but I think we should bear something in mind the development in some areas of this country is not as a result of us, as most of us here just heard that this and that policy was enacted by the govt., of the day then, and by those that lead these areas in the past, AWOLOWO, et al, look at a picture I would post below and ask this question can nigeria ever be as clean neat as this? Where as nigerians stay in this same vicinity and they fit in well, What ever your response is would determine if you and I want to make nigeria better and that is doing It the hard way together.
|
Beaf: People like me will make Nigeria better (together or in pieces). It is destiny.Beef loves the heat! with all your previous point of views on GEJ emba nunuu! I doubt you would want to keep nigeria united even when the solution is very easy and simple good & honest governance |
Before we jump to conclusions of a better idea, it is better to identify the problems and then ask ourselves are these problems solvable but b4 I continue, I would like to say, there's what is know as the decision curve in management, and point of elasticity in physics the decision curve would continue in four phases of say a consumers item (assuming it to be corruption) innovators, growth, maturity and decline and the elasticity is the point at which say any material can no long expand beyond the plastic limit and return to its original state so it breaks, now to the issue where would we put corruption on the consumption scale at what level would we reach before we become plastic and eventually break, to try and find an answer first corruption is everywhere from schools amongst students/lectures,skilled and unskilled and it is called different names to make it have a sutle feel to the eyes, settlement, in offices both in terms of operations and interrelations in fact it starts from when information of job vacancies are shared and hoarded nepotism my brother first, then to issues of mis-appropriation, misapplication, mis-prioritization, mis-placement of goals, self centred"ness" and full domiciliation of knowledge about the welfare of others using yourself or your own persona as a yardstick, to even shunting queues while trying to enter a bus out in the money, facing oncoming traffic to beat go slow, man know man to get things to the detriment of others, name it stinks through the whole nigerian fabric of the nigerian system, and what happens at a point when it has reached elastic limit violence becomes the order of the day, everywhere, people fight! But have we reached that point my answer is NO, the boko haramist tried to quicken the elastic point but they were just the ones fighting, at the point at which all and sundry in all parts of the country start to experience hate and violence holds sway, that is the point of break, we have not reached their yet so we haven't also reach the point of maturity on the consumption scale so my people we can only help our selves in two ways we allow it to quickly reach maturity and enter decline or we create another curve on the existing curve by legalizing corruption which is what we are currently doing freeing corrupt people in the public and private sector and legalizing plea bargaining and also letting people like alamesiyaga get presidential pardon, imagine 5 lawyers SAN's fighting to represent a permanent secretary that was caught with N2billion in his house, imagine erastus akingbola winning a case at the expense of billions the list is endless, my submission, their is a solution to these issues a silent revolution PDP should be voted out of power for those like myself that our parents were civil servants we shouldn't count ourselves as fortunate above others rather look at them and not pertake in what they have done, because some of our parents are stealing in conjunction with appointed public officers we should start to learn to work hard with our own hands so we can tap our chest with pride |
Ignatio: Check your mailbox. Replied since.Yea I think I have seen it now would get back to you asap |
Is it possible for the National Assembly to enforce the full implementation of a signed or unsigned budget? when according to the executive the Presidency, they can only advise and enact laws and perform over sight functions, such as the most of these toothless investigations and "TV shows" probes power, foreign affairs capital market, pension et al, while the executive is stating that they would perform this miracle/feat in 9 or less months and the massive stinking corruption in all the ministries departments and agencies and amongst civil servants and public servants, isn't this just another way by which the GEJ regime is trying to fight the war for corruption. |

blackcat1: After changing 6 jobs in 2 years after my NYSC; I decided I was destined to be my own boss and not soneone's staff. I used the funds I had gathered over the course of 2 years to travel to dubai and buy travelling boxes for sale in naija. First trip was torture didn't make much gain but didn't lose either. My second trip coincided with customs banning of imported travelling suitcases and boxes. Need I say I lost all my profit(had to pay 1.2m to get my goods out). As luck would have it a not so educated woman introduced me to exhibiting that is selling wares at international events. Made my first million in the first internatioanl event I attended. Within 3 years of exhibiting at events, I opened two shops, employed 3 staff, bought a beautiful ride, rented an apartment in one of the most expensive areas in abuja and continued with exhibiting at events until God brought my life partner to me. I have sinced stopped exhibiting due to relocating to europe to live with my spouse.Mehn from the sales of boxes seriously can this be true the level of competition is deafening the whole of area 7/10 is filled with bag sellers, wuse market parts of wuse II, banex adetokunbo ademola are all selling these things gardens are being used as event selling points for different things so plz don't try and tell me u are trying to generate a pull from us or potential investors just be as frank as possible let's see the figures and the numbers confirmation |
temmy2011: I like this thread, its very educating... due to eagerness in having at least 2 sources of income, I have really got my hand burnt in so many investment in the past; starting from Clubfreedom which was introduced to me then by someone, which I was paid the sum of N26,000.00 and I was asked to look for 2 people as a downline in order for me to raise - after all my strategies of printing posters, handbill, using internet I could not see more than 1 person, the person which is a close friend of mine. I just have to quit when I have tried all my possible best. You just reminded me who has heard anything of wealth solution and sefteg those guy steal my money live over 600k in these two places wealth interlink my 26k dey their mehn multi level bullshit one of the biggest regrets I have till date |
